Seiryutei Nijo (Kiyosubashi)

[CAM] September 24, 2015 18:00

Kafu wrote about "Kiyosu Bridge" under construction on April 4, 1927.

"I see the construction of a railway bridge that should be crossed from the Nakashu riverbank to Kiyosumi-cho, Fukagawa. Shimbashi was erected toward Hamacho and the road could be removed. At the time, there is a small play called Masago-za on the banks of the Nakashu, along the banks of the Mebashi, and there is a Yaba famous liquor store in the alley of the side, pulling the sleeves of a suspicious female Gyojin even in the daytime, After the earthquake, the traces of Masago-za were not difficult to ask or ask, and cross the new bridge Shino Bridge. It's cloudy from Japan and North Korea, and the wind is coming out. "

The construction of Kiyosu Bridge was started in March 1925 as a reconstruction project following the Great Kanto Earthquake (September 1, 1923), and was completed in March 1928. Kafu wrote that on April 25, 1928, he saw the completed Kiyosu Bridge.

"... I went to Kyobashi and went to Nakashu Hospital to ask for medicine. From Kayabacho, the dust swirls around the water shrine, disturbed the mud-filled car line, and Hase Sechigafu on the right left, and the city of Tokyo is getting used to it every day. I have to be ugly and even more amazed now. I can see the construction of a new railway bridge over Fukagawa from the banks of the Nakashu River, and ... "

In addition, "Taji" mentioned on April 7 is "Tiger" and is a representative cafe in Ginza at the intersection of Owaricho (Ginza 4-chome). The Tiger was formed in 1924. A large store with a female salary of 200 people at one time. Kan Kikuchi brought many friends and employees of Bungei Shunju and drunk beer. "Ginza March" (1928) says, "I like Tiger Girl's Bunshi and I like Lion Weightress Lady." "Lion" is also a cafe in Ginza that was located at the intersection of Owaricho (Ginza 4-chome), and the store opened in 1911 by Seiyoken Tsukiji. Café was originally supposed to be a coffee shop, but the character of the cafe at that time was a pure bar. (Saburo Kawamoto, Kafu and Tokyo: 307)

Let's take a look at it like a general! Hamarikyu Onshi Garden "Tsubame no Ochiya" Special Open House

The Hamarikyu Onshi Garden, designated as a national special scenic spot and a special historic site, is a valuable heritage that conveys the remnants of Edo's daimyo garden.

Many buildings and trees in the garden were destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake and the war, but starting with the reconstruction of "Nakajima's Ochiya" in 1978, from 2004, the cultural property garden was preserved and passed on to the next generation In order to pass it on to the next generation, a restoration and maintenance project that faithfully reproduces the designs and techniques at that time and revives it to the present age has started.

In addition to the restoration of aging facilities such as the seawall of Uchibori and Nakano Bridge, restoration of the Ochiya group, which is also important in composing the landscape of the garden, has begun.

In 2010, the restoration work of "Matsuno Ochiya" was completed.

Next, in May this year, the restoration work of “Tsubame no Ochiya”, which we have been working on since 2013, was completed, and the interior has recently been specially released.

Initially, it was set up for three days on September 17, 18, and 22, but on both 17 and 18, it was canceled due to rainy weather and was released only on the 22nd.

19: 30-10: 00 2 10: 30-11: 00 3 13: 30-14: 00 4 14: 30-15: 00 The capacity will be held on a first-come, first-served basis each time.

After listening to the lecture of the garden volunteer guide, such as the outline of the restored "Tsubame no Ochiya", the history of the Hamarikyu Onshi Garden, etc., it is said that the name "Tsubame no Ochiya" was derived from the name "Tsubame no Ochiya", which is not usually seen, is said torabbit ear iris.

And enjoy the view of the large spring water (tideiri pond) from the room, which would have been tasted by the general, his wife, and the public family.

"Tsubame's Ochiya" is an Ochiya built during the era of the 11th Shogun Ienari, which is one size smaller than other Ochiyaya, and it is a building with a strong characteristic of Sukiya architecture. It seems that the general himself thinks about entertaining, eating, and waka as a venue for entertaining (flowers and parlors), dining, and waka.

<Characteristic design and technique of "Tsubame no Ochiya">

・In the center of the room

・The upper row is a triangular groove, a circular shelf board, and a groove overhanging back.

・The northern shelf is a three-tiered shelf with two sides.

・There are 24 different types of nail-hiding metal fittings.

・There is a hazy design on the openwork of the rim plate.

・The interior is finished with color walls (Osaka soil), and the outside is finished with plaster finish.

・The roof is made of Japanese Spanish mackerel wood with a thickness of 3mm.

・shoji door has Mino paper and stone walls

I hear that "Hawk's Ochiya" is scheduled to be restored by 2017 and "Yon Liaokan" by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Site of Kaikaikan @ Shin-Tsukuda

[Nanako Tsukishima] September 24, 2015 09:00

Blessed with fine autumn weather, Silver Week is a perfect day to walk around the city.

I went to the Harumi Canal for the first time in a long time and enjoyed the resort feeling nearby.

In fact, here Shin-Tsukuda (Tsukuda 3-chome neighborhood) flourished as a summer resort overlooking Tokyo Bay at the end of the Meiji era.

At the high-colored Kappo cuisine Ryokan, which was built at that time, young artists worked hard on writing, and regular customers Toson Shimazaki wrote the newspaper novel "Spring" and Kaoru Osanai wrote the Okawabata.

At present, concrete walls for tide protection are turned around by landfill, and there is no impression of scenic spot. However, the skyscrapers and sky trees of Toyosu on the opposite bank that shines in the autumn sky will delight your eyes.

We have also been asked for the Chuo-ku Tourism Certification Test, so we recommend that you extend your legs when walking around Tsukuda and Tsukishima.

Kafu Nagai and Chuo-ku

[CAM] September 23, 2015 18:00

In 1917, Kafu lived in a rented house in Kobiki-cho, Muyo-an, when he began writing "Shokutei Nijo". However, it is just a double life, for the convenience of going to a sick hospital, and while keeping the main house in Okubo Yochomachi.

On September 20, 1917, "Because I walked yesterday, I couldn't get hungry this morning. Go to Kokiya in Shimogicho and wait for the visit of Kunite Oishi. In the first place, this Oishi-kun Okubo's house can only be visited by the road, so I borrowed it to receive a medical examination in the event of a sudden disease. ・・ ・ ・ ・ I think of the naming of the bongiya without being able to sleep deeply. At last, I ordered him to make him an unyoan."

On December 29, 1917, "Look at the Ginza All Year Market. Including the Hagoita store in Shimbashi Domae, there are no places that change year by year. "

On October 2, 1918, "Rain geys. I haven't seen it for a long time and enjoy the morning scenery of Tsukiji, and return home after Manpo Kiboricho. "

On October 13, 1918, "Look at Shintomiza with three geisha from Shintomi-cho"

It has been around for about a year in Kobiki-cho, Muyo-an, and then moved to Tsukiji Honganji in December 1918 at 2-30 Tsukiji. This time I bought a house for sale instead of a rented house. He sold out the house in Okubo Yochomachi, which he inherited from his father, and bought it with the money. I moved my family register here and drew a phone call.

On December 22, 1918, "The house behind Tsukiji 2-chome alleyway is gradually vacant. Take the lead of Takeda's man foot and carry the furniture cabinet."

On December 25, 1918, "I walk in Ginza in the evening." Let's come down again. The night's snow behind the alleys is not the same."

Before and after moving to Tsukiji 2-chome, during the New Year of Taisho 8 (1919), he frequently met geisha Yae Fuku in Shimbashi, and on December 30, 1918, "When I was going to sleep, Yae Fuku and the gate, and the life of solitary coolness will end with the year. You should be sorrowful that you will be rejoicing." On the 4th of New Year's Day in Taisho 8 (1919), "It became more and more dense following the day of friendship with Yaefuku. I feel comfortable to come in spring suddenly because of the loneliness of many years."

However, on the 16th of New Year's Day in 1919 (1919), "Invite an old woman of Sakuragi, drop off Yaefuku, and consult with Yuki who became the name of an adopted woman. ・・ ・ If there is no parent or brother to Fukuyuki Yae, and the nature is extremely mild, if it is appropriate to take care of my illness, I will be consulted a few days ago. In order to search for the identity of a woman in Sakuragi's old Jinjin, she is an unthinkable eater, not an adoptive woman, but rather as a guigeisha. People laugh at what they don't see, and this one is kept secret. " In the description of Yaefuku before and after this, there is a feeling that Kafu fell in love with Yaefuku both physically and mentally, and it is interesting, but unfortunately it is slightly off the purpose of this article, so unfortunately (laughs) I want to do this much .

I feel like autumn in Afternoon Tea

[Shitamachi Tom] September 23, 2015 09:00

It's getting more and more autumn.

How do you enjoy the changing seasons?

The scenery in Chuo-ku will also further enhance the autumn color.

Mandarin (1)_R.jpgSpeaking of autumn, there are also names such as "autumn of art" or "autumn of sports", but the big attraction is "autumn of taste" that represents the season of fertility.
Since Chuo-ku is a "treasure trove of food", you can always touch various tastes in the city. I'm looking forward to the "taste tour" in the city in the coming season.

In order to enjoy the calm autumn mood, I enjoyed "Afternoon Tea" at the 38th floor [Oriental Lounge] near Mitsukoshimae Station in Nihonbashi. Just this day was my birthday, so I was able to feel rich.

When I visited the shop, people who spent gracefully in the soft afternoon sun seemed to blend into the scenery. Occasionally, I think it would be nice to have such a luxurious time.

Mandarin (2)_R.jpgEach plate of the tea set is lined with high quality items that the hotel boasts. Above all, scones that can be replaced have a moist and deep texture and are worth not being tasted elsewhere.

Furthermore, the lineup of tea is wonderful. Not only classics such as Ceylon and Earl Gray, but also seasonal original teas are substantial, so you can feel comfortable relaxing by the scent of black tea.

Mandarin (3)_R.jpgThe Nihonbashi area is now undergoing redevelopment, and new faces are increasing. On the other hand, long-established stores are also working hard. We hope that everyone will enjoy a wonderful time in a corner of such an attractive district.

Not only Afternoon Tea, but it's also nice to have lunch at a soba restaurant, and dinner after a walk in Twilight is the best. Let's enjoy "Autumn of Taste" for each one.
