◆ Harumi Chuo-ku and foreign passenger ships seen from the bay area

[Sumida Fireworks] May 3, 2015 14:00

On Wednesday, April 29, I took a walk in the Gulf area.

Although it is not Chuo-ku, I walked the Rainbow Bridge toward Odaiba from the Shibaura Wharf side. Walking while looking at Harumi Chuo-ku on the left side.

Rainbow Bridge is a bridge that you can cross on foot. This is my first time. The sidewalk is on both sides, so of course choose the north side where Chuo-ku is located.

As you walk all the way along the Rainbow Bridge sidewalk, you will see a chot rest space with a photo panel of the scenery. It is often a panel with commentary as if it were on the top of the mountain.

In the photo below, the upper part is a photo panel of the scenery displayed on the sidewalk, and the lower white part allows you to see the actual scenery while comparing the scenery.

s_hanabi18-2.jpgWhat? This panel is somewhat different when compared to the actual scenery. There are no skyscrapers that should be in Kachidoki or Harumi.

That should be the case, and this panel, probably the time the Rainbow Bridge was built, about 20 years ago, also shows the Tokyo International Trade Center in Harumi, which is not now available.

About 20 years ago, after the collapse of the bubble economy. Chuo-ku suffered from population decline due to urbanization due to high economic growth before that and the rise in the bubble era, and the population from 170,000 in 1953 decreased to nearly 70,000 in 1997. .

However, subsequent efforts have been fruitful, and recently on April 27, it was announced that it exceeded 140,000 for the first time in 51 years. The number of younger generations has increased, and the aging rate has also been the lowest in the 23 wards.

s_hanabi18-3.jpgComparing the scenery from the Rainbow Bridge about 20 years ago with the current view of high-rise apartments, I think that such an increase in the population is natural.

A large foreign passenger ship was arriving at the Harumi Passenger Terminal.

s_hanabi18-4.jpgVOLENDAM is a Dutch-flagged ship with a total length of 61,214 tons and a total length of 238 meters. In terms of length alone, the length of Kachidokibashi is 246m, so it is comparable to that.

After crossing the bridge

→Pass through Odaiba,

→Passed through the construction site of Toyosu New Market

→Cross the Harumi Ohashi Bridge and enter the Harumi area of Chuo-ku.

→Take the Harumi Passenger Terminal to the Plaza Harumi.

It's a long walk of about 10km.

It is the Harumi area seen from the construction site of the new market in Toyosu. Construction is underway around this area with a holiday return.

However, on this day, there was a report that the plan for tourist facilities at Toyosu New Market was blank. It doesn't seem to go well, but I hope you will eventually succeed.

Oh, it was getting clearer and the blue sky came out.

We crossed Harumi Ohashi and arrived at Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal. Hey. If you look closely, it's really great. This ship.

Well, I'd like to ride this once.

s_hanabi18-8.jpgThere is also an impression that you can't taste unless you see it from nearby.

These cruise ships come to Harumi regularly, so why not check it out?

Finally, let's stop by "Hot Plaza Harumi" with a high chimney. This place where I took pictures before, the scenery has changed a little bit.

This is the planned construction site of the Olympic athlete village seen from the roof of "Hot Plaza Harumi". After the Olympics, it will be a city where people live, so the population in Chuo-ku will still increase.

s_hanabi18-10.jpgOh~. Although it was quite a long distance, I was blessed with the weather and I was able to enjoy it easily.

Here in Harumi, the 67th Tokyo Minato matsuri will be held on May 23 and 24.

It seems that various events are also held, so why not visit Harumi?
