◆ The splendid hospitality of the owner of "India Curry Nakaei" in Tsukiji grounds

[Sumida Fireworks] Nov. 12, 2015 09:00

Tsukiji Market in the morning. It is a lively place where people and cargo come and go all the time.

Especially when you come to the market in Tsukiji, most of the people who jump in their eyes. This is a place where you can see something like the origin of human beings, "people work", and just looking at it will give you energy from the morning.

Actually, since this spring, I get up once or twice a week and have breakfast at the market before going to work.

I have been a correspondent at the historical timing of the relocation of the in-house market to Toyosu New Market, but I hope that even one of the memories can be left in this place called Tsukiji Market There is also a feeling, so I decide to get up early.

I go to a curry shop called "Nakaei" in the market.

When you enter the shop, the shopkeeper is at the forefront of the U-shaped counter, always keeping the shop up.

s_hanabi27-2.jpgThe basic menu of Nakaei curry is three types (550 yen).

 ・Indian curry (dry)

 ・Beef curry (sweet)

 ・Hayashi rice (tomato flavor)

In addition, there is also a menu called "Gogake" (650 yen). It is a menu where you can choose two from the three basic types and serve it on one plate, and it is recommended for sightseeing and first-time people.

In addition, there are menus such as seafood curry and curry with roasted char siu.

What's surprising at this shop is that it's very early from ordering curry to coming out!

A few tens of seconds after sitting, the curry is right in front of you. I think there are times when it doesn't take ten seconds.

One of the secrets of speed is that the shopkeeper remembers quite a few regular faces and their orders. There are regulars who come out curry without ordering.

I went to this shop several times, and I noticed it, but I wanted to try out how long I could go to be like this regular.

So when we entered September, we decided to fix the order to "Indian curry and fried egg".

After that, I continued to go there once or twice a week.

s_hanabi27-4.jpgIt was long from here.

I often order "Indian curry and fried egg" by myself.

Will the day when you don't say "Indian curry and fried egg" come? Will it be in time for the date of the move to the new market?  ・・ ・ ・ I feel anxious.

When we approached the end of October, when we entered the store, the shopkeeper said, "When is it?" Oh~ I was happy. Do you mean I have been certified as a regular? It was the 8th morning after "Indian curry and fried egg".

It seems that the curry shop in Nakaei was founded in the first year of Taisho (1912). Before moving to Tsukiji, the fish market was located on a bridge called Nihonbashi in Chuo-ku, but it was a long-established curry shop that had been around since then.

Many of the customers who enter the shop work in the market, but since they are often in a hurry at work, the speed at which this curry is served is one of the "hospitality" created by the place called the market It may be.

What I like about this shop is that this shopkeeper's "hospitality" is really wonderful, or it is splendid without waste, and makes you feel comfortable from the morning.

Attention to each customer is done as a matter of course, but the conversation between the customer and the owner is really pleasant. I feel like a pleasant music that I hear in the morning.

It seems that this shopkeeper is the fourth generation since the company was founded. It seems that there are many regulars who come to the store to look forward to talking with this shopkeeper.

Well, the main "India curry" of Nakaei curry.

Spiciness does not mean super spicy, but moderate spicyness. It may be classified as a fast-food restaurant, but I think the taste is a reasonable talented person, but I think it is a taste that feels a little nostalgic.

As you can see, it is characterized by the fact that cabbage is poured on the rice, and the rice is quite voluminous.

Each person eats it, but how to eat cabbage, rice and curry is guided at the store, and I think it is the most delicious to eat it according to it. The crunchy feeling of cabbage is irresistible.

It has been less than one year until the date of the relocation of the Tsukiji Market to Toyosu New Market. Closed on November 2, next year. The next day is a closed day and will be relocated in 3 days from 4 to 6 days.

Of course, this curry shop will also be relocated, but even if you ask the shopkeeper, it doesn't seem so urgent, but it feels crisp.

There will be various problems associated with relocation in the future, but we have to move forward. I was talking like that.

From now on, Tsukiji's "place" market will reach the end of the last year, but there are still days until it moves.

It's time to try an order other than "Indian curry and fried egg", but I hope that I will continue to go as much as possible so that good memories will be remembered by this time next year.
