"Edo Kiriko" @ Sukiyabashi

[Nanako Tsukishima] March 10, 2016 09:00

Ginza Toshiba Building was located at the corner of Sukiyabashi intersection.

Mosaic Ginza Hankyu (formerly Sukiyabashi Hankyu) was included.

It's been nearly three and a half years since my favorite building closed.IMG_5474.JPG

And finally, on March 31, this month, I will be reborn.

As "Tokyu Plaza Ginza".

On a site of approximately 3,700 square meters, 5 floors underground and 11 floors above ground.

Of these, 13 floors will be commercial areas and 125 stores will be occupied.

The development concept is

"Creative Japan - The world will be interesting from here. "~"

It's something that I wanted to refine "Ginza-likeness".

It really gives you a sense of a new landmark suitable for Ginza.

And the most eye-catching thing is the exterior of the building.

Based on the concept of "light vessel", the motif is "Edo Kiriko", a traditional craft.

It is a beautiful building full of Japanese taste.

This "Edo Kiriko" is now one of Tokyo's most famous souvenirs.

Originally, it seems that the beginning of 1834 (Tenbo 5) was devised by Otemmacho's Biidoroya and Kubei Kagaya to sculpture on the surface of glass using Kongo sand.

On the 6th floor of the building and on the rooftop

"KIRIKO LOUNGE" (Chirico Lounge)

It seems that there is a public space named "KIRIKO TERRACE".

Here is also the appearance of Kiriko!

By the way, the pattern of Edo Kiriko is called "Uoko", and the Edo Kiriko Association has set July 5th.

It has been established as "Edo Kiriko Day".

I was happy because I was connected to Nanako.

I'm looking forward to the opening day.
