On the morning of a weekday in late June, I went to Kyobashi Library to return books.
At the entrance of the library, a woman of the museum staff distributed some numbered tickets.
"Today is the day of book recycling," he said.
If I received the ticket, it was 89.
For the time being, I decided to return the book and read the book I liked until 10 o'clock.
Then the seats in the hall were so crowded that they were almost full.
While waiting in line
I got information from the front and rear people saying, "I will do it next week at Nihonbashi Library."
I thought there was no more left at 89, but what a lot of books
I received a total of 12 books, including large fonts of Chinese-Japanese dictionary and cooking books.
I'm glad I happened to come by bicycle, but it was hard on trains and buses.
The next week I went to Nihonbashi Library. (This is the historic site of the Saigo Takamori Yashiki.)
The hall is very spacious and calm.
I'm the 63rd place here. I received 10 books.
The schedule for "recycling books" will be announced in the city's public relations magazine in early May every year.
It seems that it is also held at the Tsukishima Library.
I'll definitely go next year.
