Yellow in spring

[The Monkey] March 2, 2019 18:00

For two weeks from the 11th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification Test, you will be packed with your blog and personal information. I'm going to study, but I was informed that I couldn't do it, but spring comes around. I saw a faint yellow on my head that was alive. The entrance to Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi is completely spring.

March 8 is International Women's Day. In Italy, it is called "Mimosa Day", and men hand Mimosa with daily gratitude to women. For this reason, the mimosa flower designed by French artist Philip Wise Becker will be the main visual of this year on March 8th (Fri) and 9th (Sat) at each Mitsukoshi store, "Icing Cookie Present Campaign" will be held.

Room For Cake - Niina's Shop-

[The Monkey] February 14, 2019 12:00

"Room For Cake" is located near Tsukiji Outer Market and Kachidokibashi, a corner of Tsukiji, which survived the war. That's just like a small cake shop in Paris "room for cake"? What a fashionable shop name! Then, when I asked Ina-san, a designer and cake decorator, she said that "sweets are different stomachs." It was a room in my stomach~

Niina's residence was Akashicho next door, and the shop was opened here three years ago, because the child is small. When I lived in Germany before, I went to France, and the shop is also an image of Paris.

The shop's recommendation is a refreshing cheesecake with a lemon named "Madam Junko" with the mother's name.

It's spring, vague, Nihonbashi

[The Monkey] January 18, 2019 18:00

The masterpiece "Nihonbashi" by literary writer Kyoka Izumi is a work that was originally written as a novel and is so enthusiastic that Kyoka himself plays. I drew two geisha, Kiyoha and Takashi, who care for the same man. It is said that Kyoka from Kanazawa's longing for Edo culture is deeply rooted, and the air of Nihonbashi at the time of the Meiji era is transmitted. It was also talked about the fact that I found a handwritten manuscript last year. This "Nihonbashi" is being performed at the Mitsukoshi Theater until the 25th as a New Year's Hanagata New School performance.

Photo 2019-01-15 14 08 05.jpg

It was a commemorative performance 130 years since the beginning of the new school, and at the time of the premiere, Shotaro Hanayagi played Osensei and became a success. At the Nipponbashinishi Riverside Jizo-ji Church, there is a "plane-colored millennium figure" dedicated by Shotaro Hanayagi and is registered in the ward Tangible Cultural Property. The stage of the story began with this Nishi River Bank Bridge, and Shotaro also came to pray.

The book binding of Kyoka's book was Komura Yukidai, a Japanese painter, and the figure was also requested by Taro Shodai to Yukidai. On this day, the temple was closed and I couldn't see the picture, but there is a temple, and if you ask, you can show it. The photo shows Ema of the Millennium drawn by Yukidai. He was said to be a genius of design, worked on bindings, illustrations, and stage art, and was also a "designer" who was also enrolled in the Shiseido Design Department, which was just inaugurated.

Nihonbashi was also performed at the Mitsukoshi Theater in 1999 to commemorate the 88th anniversary of the Nihonbashi Bridge and the 100th anniversary of the bridge in 2011.

Twelve branches together - Tsukiji E and Vilue

[The Monkey] January 17, 2019 12:00

There is a building lined with Earthly Branches sculptures on the wall opposite Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School in Tsukiji 1-chome. The name is "Tsukiji Eto Building". The building was completed in 1996. The 3rd floor and above are ordinary office buildings, but the 1st and 2nd floors have a classic stone appearance.

At the beginning of the Year of the Pig, I felt good luck this year, and prayed that the blog and tour would go well.

There was a carillon object at the corner of the building, which signaled noon, and in the future it may be included in the architectural tour guide in Chuo-ku.

Kite, octopus, fried

[The Monkey] December 28, 2018 14:00

There are only a few left this year. When I was a child, many kites flew in a nearby field during the New Year, and I was looking forward to flying kites. Have you seen such a sight in the river’s edge of the Sumida River? The Japan Kite Association was established in 1969 with kite lovers from all over the country. The founder was Shingo Shigeki, the late Taimeiken, a long-established Western-style restaurant in Nihonbashi. On the 5th floor of Taimeiken, there is a rare "Kite Museum" where various kites are displayed.

Shingo Modeki is the first president of Taimeiken, and loves kites since childhood. More than 3,000 kites have been collected, and the hall is full of kites with walls and ceilings. The exhibition is an original Edo kite, and the Edo kite was born in the Edo period from the common people and samurai under the isolation of the country.

A kite market will also be held on Saturday, December 29. Why don't you buy your favorite kite this year and fly it in the New Year's sky? This is the state of Kite City last year.

Held at Tokyo Bell Sarh Nihonbashi Tower Square.

It's art during construction.

[The Monkey] December 23, 2018 18:00

The underground passage from Tokyo Metro Mitsukoshimae Station to JR Shin-Nihonbashi Station is currently under construction. A picture is drawn on the temporary enclosure of the street about 50m, called "NIHONBASHI Ayajiki".

Photo 2018-12-16 13 34 30.jpgThis was designed by illustrator Yosuke Kinoshita in connection with the meaning of kanji and the scenery and events of Nihonbashi.
