Nihonbashi and Canon Ball

[Nyan,] June 19, 2017 09:00

Many of you may have been absorbed in the success of Kungho Stars represented by Bruce Lee and Jackie Chen. There was a time when I saw the movie in which Jackiechen appeared from one end before I knew the reputation and content before I knew it. I sometimes recall that the representative of the movie that I saw in the supporting role is "cannonball".

The movie's Canonball is based on an adventure stall that crosses the United States by car, but the modern Japanese version of Canonball that I recognize is "Running from Tokyo to Osaka" within 24 hours "by bicycle from Tokyo to Osaka!" That's right.

When riding a bicycle between Tokyo and Osaka (about 550 km), it takes a few days and a surprise glance is poured, "Yes?", But even after this cannonball standard, 24 hours are 1 minute Has not been achieved yet.
Considering breaks, meals, naps, and waiting for traffic lights, it is quite hard work in terms of speed.

The starting point of the Osaka side is a bit ambiguous with Sonezaki and Umeda in Kita-ku, Osaka, but the Tokyo side is ...

Yes, the Japanese road mark of Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku! It's the starting point of Gokaido.
Even now, this is an important starting point/end point of such a challenge.

If there is a bicycle rider who stands before this and is deeply moved by the sense of accomplishment, it may be a good idea to ask, "Is it a cannonball?"

I would like to try it at least once. (It's also important not to get lost.)

There is a copy of the relocated Tokyo City Road Map and the Japan Road Map in Kitazume, Nihonbashi.

Arashio's room and all the cats

[Nyan,] May 16, 2017 16:00

A long time ago, there was a battle to divide the world between mushrooms and bamboo shoots ... but what is less than that is "dog schools" or "cat schools"? .

As a dog school, I feel that cats are bad recently, but the other day, I heard that there was an event of "Nihonbashi cat large gathering" and visited enemy sentiment (?) I've been there.

By the way, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store. A powerful lineup of cats in the whole building and cat goods from each region!

I'm afraid of it. In general, Mr. Mitsukoshi's lion statue is a cat family.

In the central hall on the 1st floor of the main building where the statue of the heavenly woman stands, there is a ghost of a beckoning cat! It seems that this is a cat's "Kadodon". The destructive power of Saigo Donmo.

Don't be fooled by a smile! The left ear is not a fool at the point of twisting headband.P5030051.JPG

By the way, the wrestlers in the Arashio room in Chuo-ku added flowers to this "cat sushi". Somehow, it is a connection between a cat who lives in the Arashio room, "Mine and Mugi". Isn't it coincidence?

The ace of the Arashio room is Sokokurai Seki. There's a graciousness. I have an aura. Standing when sitting, it is not big, but the tallest evidence that the legs are long. It is not a "other closer than a distant relative", but a "blue country closer than a distant rare village". I have no choice but to support this.

Come on, please! (I also wanted you to take a picture.)

Speaking of Arashio's room, it is also famous for foreigners to visit the morning geiko, which is "morning practice". But I've always wondered why foreigners know when they are practicing, but one day, when Germany gave directions to the tour, I imitated a TV program. "Why are you going to the Arashio room?" (How did you get to know morning practice?」 He said, "I told you at the front desk of the hotel." Oh, that's the case. There are many sumo rooms, but the window frame is large and there are few rooms that are free to visit. This is also a kind of attraction. I recommend the Arashio room in Chuo-ku.

By the way, local cat goods in each area sold at many antenna shops in Chuo-ku include very popular cat-type ingredients (Kanagawa's popular cat-type donut, Fukushima baked confectionery, Shimanekko, Nagasaki Nyagasaki Cat, etc.). While a cute cat doesn't know? When it is gone (in this case, it was delicious and I just ate it), we recommend visiting Sanko Inari Shrine. When you lose sight of a cat, if you ask for it, it is said that there is a spiritual test. (Sanko Inari in Ningyocho)

This time, I was kept pushed by the power of the cat, but I will not lose next time.

Running course in Chuo-ku

[Nyan,] April 18, 2017 14:00

Speaking of running courses in the city center, it is famous for the Imperial Palace, which is 5 km per lap, with security and no encounter with a car. However, there are a lot of runners, and it's a stoic that goes around the lap course.

If possible, the course is rich in change, passes through the city where you can feel history and breath, there are cafes and places where you can shop here and there, so if there is a safe course with few cars ... I don't think there are many people.

A running course centered on the Sumida River Terrace in Chuo-ku that can fully respond to the selfishness of such runners! We run on some general roads, but we rarely wait for traffic lights, and we can enjoy a distance of about 10 km by connecting courses with few traffic streets even in the city center.

It is recommended for those who come on business trips or travel, those who want to enjoy a slightly different course than usual. (This course is a reference, so you can arrange as much as you want.)

How about making this course that you can run happily and with peace of mind while feeling the breath of the history of Chuo-ku your "My Course"?

[Characteristics and layout of course]

(1)This time, Hamacho Park (Chuo-ku Sports Center) is the starting point. (You can take a shower (paid) using the locker here, and there are plenty of other sports facilities. It is a complex where various events are held and spring cherry blossom viewing is also possible. )

(2)Take the terrace along the Sumida River toward Ryogokubashi. I will return it once at Ryogoku Bridge. There is also a 100-meter running course on this terrace, and you can also run an interval that stimulates your body.

(3)While running on the right bank of the Sumida River, take the slope on the way to the top of the Sumida River Terrace. Pass the IBM Hakozaki Building on your right and then cross the Toyomi Bridge.

(4)At the foot of Eitai Bridge, go down the Sumida River Terrace using stairs (if you do not cross the intersection). Pass the Chuo-ohashi Bridge, go straight on the right bank of the Sumida River, go up the stairs beside "Regishi Island water level station" and leave the Sumida River Terrace once.

(5)Cross "Minami Takahashi" and go to Sumida River Terrace again (although there are some parts that are a bit difficult to understand). From here, continue along the right bank of the river (right side toward the mouth) and head to the base of Kachidokibashi.

(6)Cross Kachidokibashi on the other side of the river. Turn left at the corner of Seven-Eleven and head straight. It is Tsukishima Monja Street that spreads on both sides. Pass through here and turn left at the traffic light. Pass the side of the famous Tsukudani shops line up, head toward the Sumida River Terrace with the street corner museum of Tsukuda.

(7)Pass the side of a public toilet that imitates a lighthouse on Ishikawajima, and cross Chuo-ohashi Bridge. The view from this bridge spreads out clearly and feels very comfortable. After crossing Chuo-ohashi Bridge, return on the original road. This is a journey of about 10 km around (if you run on the slope without using stairs).

*There are some places under construction due to the maintenance of the terrace, etc. In that case, I would be grateful if you could pass the road running in parallel with the terrace.
