What time have I been sitting?

[Shubo's Ten Hands] April 29, 2017 16:00

Lion statue bmp

Was there a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild near me? Or I wonder if he was a grandson.

I've been sitting for a long time~ How long should I sit?

But I can't get old at all, how many have I become?

I'm a lion statue of Mitsukoshi.

The photo shows the front entrance of Ginza Mitsukoshi. The statue was born in 1914 when it was set up in front of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store.

The lion statue was ordered by U.K. when the manager of the time, Ousuke Hibi, visited Europe and the United States to open a department store.

It took 3 years to complete. It seems that there is a wish that Mitsukoshi will reign in the department store industry like the King Lion of Beasts.

The lion statue at the head office is 102 years old. This is a lion statue of Ginza Mitsukoshi. I was born in 1972 and is 45 years old. I think it's probably a child or a grandchild who is beside him.

I'll welcome you to Mitsukoshi.

Please come by all means. I'll be waiting for you.

Tsukuda Island seen from Eitai Bridge?

[Shubo's Ten Hands] April 26, 2017 18:00

eitai5.jpg

Eitai Bridge was about 150 meters upstream from the location as of the Edo period. It is said to have been around 1698. At that time, it was painted in Ukiyo-e as a famous place with a good view on a large wooden bridge.

It is Japan's first road bridge made of steel. A tram was laid in 1904.

It was bridged with the 50-year-old celebration of the 5th Shogun Tsunayoshi. On August 19, 1807, the bridge collapsed due to congestion toward the festival of Fukagawa Hachiman, and more than 1,000 people drowning. There are so many stories about this accident. It is also known as a bridge that Ako Gishi crossed when he lifted from Kira's residence to Sengakuji Temple.

Both the upper photo and the lower picture want the direction of Tsukuda Island.

The upper photo was taken from Eitai Bridge.

Thirtyma moat trace (the place with pink arrows)

From Ginza, take Harumi-dori St. toward Tsukiji and just before Showa-dori.

The old map below was published in Kaei 2 (1849) (the place with a black arrow).

It is indigo on the left and right, and the one shown is Horikawa. The location of the two arrows is almost the same. When you walk around here, the road is booming.

It was connected from the Kyobashi River to the Shiodome River. In 1612, at the order of Tokugawa shogunate in Keicho 17 (1612), the Saikoku Daimyo excavated mainly for the purpose of boating. This name was given because the moat width was thirty (about 55 meters). In Bunsei 11 (1828), it was narrowed to nineteen. In 1952, the pile of rubble after Pacific War was reclaimed for processing.YllaYlla

Did you have a word for the game tie?

Speaking of ties, Taya

Introducing Mr. Taya, which has been operating at Ginza 4-chome since 1905 (1905). He seems to be involved in everything from design to manufacturing and sales to make original ties. The design of the design is very nice, and it is finely woven with ultrafine silk thread. Makes your necktie soft when you tighten it. As expected, Japanese textiles. It seems that Arnold Schwarzenegger also purchased it. The clerk will respond very kindly and politely.

Perfect as a gift for your boyfriend. If you come to Ginza, why don't you stop by?

(I photographed with the permission of the store manager.)

There is a bust of Siebold in Akatsuki Park.

[Shubo's Ten Hands] April 22, 2017 14:00

Siebold DSCN0647.jpgBust of Siebold

Siebold was a Dutch army doctor.

I was ordered to look into Japan not only for the doctor's work but also for trade with Japan. I arrived in Nagasaki in Bunsei 6 (1823). After that, he accompanied the head of Dutch trading post to Edo Sanfu, collected plants and animals on the way, and surveyed the height of the mountains. In Edo, I interacted with many doctors and scholars. At that time, we conducted an experiment with pupils. Genseki Habu heard that story, and Siebold taught me the chemical manufacturing method. The Shogun's family presented Aoi's crest clothing for the reward. Three years later, on his way home, the ship was wrecked, and a forbidden map of Japan and crest clothing were found, and after strict investigation, he was expelled from the country.

Siebold's daughter (Ine) also became a doctor, and a bust was built in connection with the opening of an obstetrics and gynecology department in Tsukiji.

Angel Statue of Tensho Domae

Why? I have an angel. (Tenshodo) It seems to be because it deals with word matching with Tenshodo and bridal jewelry.

He has a role and is to shoot the arrow of love to a couple coming from the street. A shot couple may be happy.

Why don't you see the face of "Cupid" while shopping in Ginza? It's a pretty good look.

This is one of the masterpieces of sculptor Asahiko Yamada.
