From 10:00 am on October 25 (Sun) in Akashicho "Chuo-ku Health and Welfare Festival 2009" was held at Chuo-ku Public Health Center, Time Dome, Akatsuki Park, etc.

Under the theme of "encounter, contact and excitement," the aim is to deepen mutual understanding and fellowship for everyone living in the community through opportunities for contact and exchange, aiming for a town of welfare and health. On the day of the event, the Municipal Folk Tenmonkan (Time Dome Akashi = the first floor entrance above the photo) was also open to the public for free, and visitors were watching the history and culture of Chuo-ku at the permanent gallery space. Many people also visited special exhibition's "City where Takumi lived" (until November 29). 

At 2:00 p.m. in the special exhibition venue, a demonstration of sewing pattern production was held. This demonstration is a "sew crest" technique in which a family crest is sewed in a kimono with Edo embroidery, and it is performed. Takeshi Kaiya, a resident of Nihonbashihakozakicho, a traditional craftsman certified in Tokyo and president of the Tokyo Embroidery Cooperative (center of the photo). The visitors who surround the work table with the fine sewing techniques leaned out and stared at the craftsmanship.

The next production demonstration will be held in conjunction with the "Chuo-ku Marugoto Museum 2009" event, and from 2:00 pm on November 1st (Sun), Saburo Tanaka, an Edo brush and Tokyo hand-planted brush craftsman, will be held at the "Hand-planted Brush Production Demonstration". Have been.

The venue of the festival was wide, outdoor and indoor, with various organizations and organizations in the city participating. The Chuo-ku Cultural Properties Supporters Association, the first certified town walking volunteer guide in Chuo-ku, also exhibited at the multipurpose hall venue on the 5th floor of the Education Center (bottom photo). The association participates continuously every year to introduce the town walk in Chuo-ku and display historical materials.

This time, about 100 photographs of Chuo-ku 50 years ago and 6 scenes related to Chuo-ku during the Edo and Meiji eras, such as Nihonbashi and Ryogokubashi, which are three consecutive Nishiki-e illustrations, are exhibited. At the experience corner, "Let's fold a mini-mini half coat! "I prepared and had the association's special origami folded and made it a souvenir to commemorate the visit. In particular, visitors were interested in photographs and half-wearing origami from various parts of Chuo-ku 50 years ago.

The “Town Walking <Industry> Course Nihonbashi / Kyobashi”, a project commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Chuo-ku Tourism Association, was held from 10:00 to 12:00 on October 19 (Monday). This course was the second time, with a capacity of 10 people participating, but most people came from outside the ward and felt the spread of the participating areas. At first, at "Yamamoto-noriten", while listening to the history of the shop, I learned about the depth of the seaweed story, had a sample, and tasted a part of the essence of making seaweed unique to the store .

At the next "Yagi Naga Honten", the president himself showed photos and maps, such as the transition of the Nihonbashi Fish Bank and the transition of shops, and gave a careful explanation. "Katsuobushi is an important source of protein," and I was impressed by the enthusiastic enthusiasm.

From here, walk for a while to Kyobashi and Yaesu Street. On the way, the Takashimaya Tokyo Store (Nihonbashi) Building was designated as a National Important Cultural Property in June this year. The area around Chuo-dori was a bustling place as "Tooricho" from Edo.

The third shop visited "Kyobashi Senbikiya". A stylish restaurant as a well-known long-established fruit specialty store. We talked about the history of the shop and the fruits while receiving fresh seasonal fruits.

Finally, Mr. Moriichi, an office supplies. Products were lined up from the first floor to the second floor, and it was a rich assortment of products. Recently, I have been told that I am motivated to develop retro creative products such as indigo dyeing bags and nostalgic fountain pens.

As the voices of the participants this time, "I'm glad I was able to guide you through places that I couldn't easily go around by individuals," "Is this event only this year? I want you to continue every year ... "and so on.

Each store has a history of history, trust in local communities and customers, and a passion for business, so it has been conveyed that a solid business path to protect the long-established Japanese shop curtain has been passed down.

The annual "57th Chuo-ku Tourism and Commerce Festival" starts on Thursday, October 1 and until November 4 (Wednesday). It will be a fun festival in Chuo-ku. During the period, various events will be held with the participation of shopping streets, shopping associations, department stores, etc. in the city. On the first day of October 1, the opening ceremony was held with the attendance of Yoshihide Yada, Mayor of Chuo Ward.

It also started in July. The 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Chuo-ku Tourism Association has finally reached its final stage. The city has been excited by various events so far. It attracts domestic and foreign interest in Chuo-ku. Above all, a large number of applicants participate in the “Town Walking <Culture> Course” and are attractive. While watching and listening to the cityscape, history and culture of Chuo-ku, they could see them enjoying walking around the town.

On October 4 (Sun), the “Hamacho / Higashinihombashi Course” was held, and the guidance was provided by the Chuo-ku Cultural Property Supporters Association, the first certified volunteer guide in Chuo-ku (photo).

"Kyobashi" was an important bridge on the Tokaido along with Nihonbashi, but it has been removed and is now gone. At present, "Kyobashi's main pillar" is left in Hashizume as a cultural property of the Chuo Ward, so you may feel nostalgic for its features. However, there were other remains of Kyobashi. Do you know that there is "Kyobashi" in such a place?

First of all, it is located in Hibiya Park. There is no bridge name on the balustrade column of Kyobashi, but since it has giboshi, you can easily see it. It was a bridge in 1875 (1875) because it was a bridge. There is a groove hole connected to the left and right (above photo). There are several other relics in Hibiya Park that tell the history, so it's fun to look for and walk.

At present, there are two main pillars engraved with the name of the bridge for the Meiji era rehabilitation at the site of Kyobashi of the Honke. Kanji notation is on the east side of Kitazume in front of the Police Museum, and the pseudonym notation is on the west side of Minamizume, beside Ginza 1-chome police box. 

Next is the Shinjuku Gyoen Shinjuku Gate, located on the site of the former Michino Information Center, which has already been closed. This was built in 1922 (1922) and is the main pillar of Kyobashi, which has lighting equipment (bottom photo). You can't enter the premises, so you have to look from the outside, but you can clearly read the names of the bridges of "Kyobashi" and "Kyobashi". 

At the site of Kyobashi, the same main pillar of the Taisho era is left on the east side of Minamizume, but it is a modern design with lighting installed at the top. It is well known that the Ginza 1-chome police box, which stands on the west side of Minamizume on the other side, is symmetrically built to imitate the main pillar design of the Taisho era, and is inspired by the Ginza brick street. 

On the site of the Michino Information Center in Shinjuku, the main pillar of Shimbashi remains. Currently, it is the same main pillar as on the Minato-ku side of Ginza 8-chome. In addition, there is a reproduction of the road marking plate of Nihonbashi.
