0913_311_110604shuzohin.jpgIt is said that there are 25,000 materials in the museum. About 140 of them are on display in special exhibition this time. You can meet a number of valuable inhabitants of the ward that you do not usually see.

The venue consists of nine corners, including six categories of materials such as "Life Folklore," "ancient document," and "Print," and "Shigure Hasegawa," "Tsukiji Small Theater," and "War." From the Edo period to the Showa period, I am looking forward to finding nostalgic memories.

I would like to introduce some of the highlights.

In "Life Folk", the white fish donation box carried by Tsukuda fishermen for the donation of white fish includes descriptions such as "Ohonmaru" and "Gozen Goyo". The box car of the drug wholesaler is a two-wheeled cart used for transporting medicine, and is a real display of less than 2 meters long. The Mizukami Yashiroyama car model is created by a puppeteer Midaihara Funatsuki in Nihonbashi Honmachi, and overlooks a 1/10 miniature and elaborate processing. In ancient document, Ginka Kishida's book width is a rare hanging scroll. In the "Printed Materials", in addition to the Hama Gotenzu and Yuonen Yashiki, the Jiji Shimpo Photo News, where Chaplin, who came to Japan in 1936, tastes tempura, are interesting. In the "Documents Book", the actual experience of the Great Kanto Earthquake spelled by Kyobashi High School children is attracting attention. In the "still picture", you can see valuable photographs such as stereo photographs of Meijiza taken during the Meiji period. In "Painting", there are two pieces of Kamiraku Nishiki-e by the 14th Shogun Shigeru, depicting Nihonbashi and the vicinity of Ginza.

The Shigure Hasegawa corner by theme is the first female Kabuki screenwriter born in Toyu-cho, and the book "Old Mon Nihonbashi" is on display. At the "Tsukiji Small Theater" corner, you can see a stage model of "Before Dawn" produced by the actor seat. At the "War" corner, a picture scroll depicting the postwar reconstruction of Ginza, where manga artist Yutaka Aso became a burnt field in the Tokyo air raid, is a highlight.

Every Saturday during the exhibition period (sometimes have not been held), exhibition guidance is provided by volunteer supporters of the museum. Lectures related to special exhibition and gallery talks by curators are also held, and historical videos of the Tsukiji Small Theater are also shown. ●Akira Makibuchi
