Goodbye to the Kabukiza Theater for a while

[Shitamachi Tom] April 21, 2010 12:00

2010kabukiza1000.JPG [Kabukiza] will finally be closed this month only.

Every day, many people who regret their remnants are coming in.sprinkle

Even on this day, in the rainy weather, people come together. I tightened my ticket and slowly passed through the front door which I had passed many times. As soon as you enter, you will be wrapped in the air of the playhouse.

2010kabukiza2000.JPGThe audience's excitement spreads more than usual. In the tightly packed spectator seats, you can see the attitude of burning the last performance firmly in your eyes.

As you know, the current [Kabukiza] was built in the current style in 1925 after several renovations, and was rebuilt in 1951 after being destroyed by the war. It has long been loved by people as the origin of Japanese Kabuki culture.heart

2010kabukiza3000.JPGRather than Higashiginza, I think that the atmosphere of "Kibiki-cho ..." is more like an atmosphere.

Let's say goodbye for a while until the next generation of theaters opens in three years. The "stick board" (a board that beats the clap as the sound effect of the stage) set up in front of the "formal curtain" seemed to have a feeling of regret.weep

The play culture that shines brilliantly in Chuo-ku will continue to nurture history. Even while Kabukiza is closed, you can enjoy it at several theaters such as Shimbashi Enbujo, Meijiza, Mitsukoshi Theater, and Le Theatre Ginza.

I would like to continue to value it as a flower of urban culture.good

Sky Tree with Spring Scenery

[Shitamachi Tom] April 6, 2010 09:00

2010.4.3 Tsukuda (2) JPG Cherry blossoms are in full bloom in central Tokyo this weekend. I was invited cheerfully and walked to [River City] on Tsukuda Island.

cherryblossomA bright light pink book spreads along the Sumida River, creating a view of spring. Over the Chuo-ohashi Bridge, you can see the distant [Tokyo Sky Tree] hazy. There were cheerful family and friends around the area.

In the changing scenery of Tokyo, I want to enjoy the season in various places in Chuo-ku.scissors

Spring at Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School 000.JPG The spring season has come.cherryblossom

The entrance ceremony is held at each elementary school in the city, and it is time for new first-year students to show cute appearance.

Children are important players in the future of town planning. I believe that it is a treasure of everyone and I want to watch carefully.chick

Chuo-ku wants to be a well-balanced "livable town" of men and women of all ages.

The cherry blossoms in front of Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School also show a beautiful appearance. Beside the school gate of the elementary school here, there is a rare statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya. You may have introduced the Kinjiro statue in front of the Yaesu Book Center in this correspondent blog before, but there is also a zo!

It might be a good idea to review the virtues of diligence again.

Well, let's enjoy this season anyway.notes
