The Seven Wonders of Tsukishima ~ Episode 5 "Local Food Town"

[Shitamachi Tom] September 21, 2012 08:30

There are many attractions of Tsukishima, but I think you all know that it is a rich area of food culture.

Of course, "Monjayaki" is a magnificent specialty dish, but let's leave it to the next time, and this time we will visit other recommended "local food".shoe

First of all, let's enjoy the famous "Lever Fly". The most famous is "Hisagoya Abe", which is said to be the birthplace. The address is Tsukuda, but it is close to Tsukishima Station, and it is a standard for walking around the town.

In any case, in the Tsukishima area, there were many factory workers and port-related people after the war, and it was spread as a cheap and nutritious snack-like food to suit the body tired from work.

I have a nostalgic taste.lovely

Tsukishima "Genki".jpgNext is the famous shop in the alley. In a place that is likely to be overlooked if you inadvertently, it shows a very good appearance.

The beef here is an excellent taste with many fixed fans. However, since it closes early in the evening, it seems that many people first train their tongue here and go out for a full-fledged drinking walk.chick

Furthermore, in the Western style, [Cafe Parlor Hometown] also shows a unique presence in the alley. It's a hamburger shop known to those who know it. It is a shop that has been changed from a coffee shop, but the shop owner offers the downtown burger with all his heart while making use of his experience at a famous restaurant in Gotanda [Franklin Avenue]. Non-sticky, rich and juicy taste spreads in your mouth.restaurant

The casual atmosphere inside the store is also hard to throw away.

Finally, let's buy Tsukishima's hidden specialty products [Tsukishima / Local Beer]. In the town, you can buy it at 3-chome [Surugaya] and several other shops, and there are also Monjaya shops that serve as menus. According to the Sake Tax Law, "Happoshu" is made in a small workshop utilizing the manufacturing method learned in Germany, so you can enjoy a deep taste. There are two types, so please try and compare them.

Tsukishima has a variety of local flavors besides Monjayaki. It is an "Amazing Town" where you can visit various alleys and enjoy unexpected discoveries. Let's try it.sign03

Tsukishima Seven Wonders-Episode 4 "old folk house Gourmet"

[Shitamachi Tom] September 11, 2012 10:00

Tsukishima is a district where the old streets still remain, so you can enjoy a nostalgic feeling. Just taking a walk with Brabra will heal your heart by the nostalgic atmosphere.foot

Of course, it's a fun town to visit when you're hungry. Monja is of course famous, but I'm glad that there are many other shops that remodel old private houses and welcome customers as they were in the past.restaurant

"Kishidaya", now famous as a "izakaya where you can line up", is cool at the entrance anyway. It creates a friendliness that is just invited.
It's important for an izakaya to have such a mood.bottle

Edoya. jpg

My address is Tsukuda, but [Edoya] near Tsukishima Station is a fish-flavored shop known to those who know it. As you proceed in the direction of a high-rise apartment building from the station, the lights sway to call on those who like sake and fish to an old house building with a somewhat retro feeling.fish

[Steakhouse Yamaguchi] located in Tsukishima 2-chome is a shop that opened after remodeling a house that was a liquor store.
It is now a popular spot as a hideaway restaurant where you can enjoy exquisite steaks.

Tsukishima 3-chome [Tatamiya octagon] is attracted to the stylish set-up shop.
There are plenty of types of shochu just because it claims to be "Ishoya", and it is one of the pleasures to drink separately according to the ingredients.note

There are many such delicious shops in Tsukishima. There are shops here and here that never notice, but the taste is harsh, and that make good use of the kindness and pride of the downtown area for cooking. Please turn the corner a little, not just the main street. You may be able to find your favorite shop in places you haven't noticed before.eye

As it gets cooler, it's fun to take a gourmet walk in the evening in search of taste!
