A lion's head

[Kaishu] June 19, 2009 17:46

On Sunday, 14th, the last day of the Tsukiji Lion Festival at Namishi Inari Shrine.
It's the festival of resurrection Edo.
The large lion, the Benzaiten tooth black lion, and the town council
The lion head travels around the town of Tsukiji.

The large ceiling lion, the Benzaiten Tookoku lion, are surprisingly large than when they were enshrined.
I thought there was the whole lion head, but it was unexpected that the back half was cut.

The main festival (Hokusai Festival) two years from this year, the 350th anniversary of the shrine
A variety of commemorative events are scheduled.
If you are interested, you will need to check regularly in the future.

"Jill,"

[Kaishu] June 12, 2009 17:00

If you go a little along the street next to the Maruzen Nihonbashi store, you can see "Jill" on the Petit Terrace of the Nihonbashi Plaza Building.

"Jill," This is a sculpture created by Kyoko Asakura.

Fumio Asakura, who was called "Rodan of the Orient", is his father, and Setsu Asakura, a stage artist and painter, is his sister.

You can see 5 works in the city.

"Nichola" is installed in front of the ward office, and "NIKE" and "SUMMER" are installed in the courtyard of the Sumitomo Twin Building in Shinkawa.

In addition, a miniature of "Nichola" is displayed at the front entrance of the Tsukishima Kumin Center.

Around the outdoor bronze statue "Jill", a light breeze always blows, and the sophisticated and elegant poses make you feel refreshed every time you meet.

Kyoko Asakura is a wind sculptor. typhoon

Hiroshige on holidays and Tsukuda Island

[Kaishu] June 11, 2009 10:40

The highest peak of landscape painting is Hiroshige Utagawa, an ukiyo-e artist from the late Edo period, depicting the masterpiece "53rd Tokaido".
His gentle style of painting softens the mind of what he sees.

More than 150 years after his death.
On a peaceful Sunday in June, today's Hiroshige appears here on Tsukuda Island.
Tsukuda Kobashi, Funadamari, Tsukuda Park.
This downtown appearance will touch the koto line of Sunday painters. I'm quietly talking with my favorite painting book with my desired touch.

Watching Hiroshige on Tsukuda Island carrying brushes on a day of the sun, this space is separated from other hustle and bustle, and it seems that time flows slowly there.
The surrounding area has completely changed with ultra-high-rise apartments.
This area, which retains the remnants of the Showa era and invites nostalgia, does not seem to release the hearts of landscape painters on holidays.

Goodbye Kabukiza Theater

[Kaishu] June 3, 2009 09:00

For those who have never seen the real thing yet.
"Ginza's proud representative landmark, a nationally registered cultural property of Showa.
It's worth a look."flair

Who is tired of it?
"I'll see you in less than a year."think

The classical performing arts, Kabuki Hall of Fame, and Kabukiza, will close in about 11 months, and will start dismantling and remodeling work.
In this building, the famous actors of Showa and Heisei were applauded on the flower path and turned around, attracting the audience again.
With this rebuilding, the design is new, and the exterior seems to be simple and novel designing in anticipation of the advanced use of the surrounding area.

Many fans who have been accustomed to the removal of the formal appearance of the Momoyama style, which features a gable roof, have been spared for many years.
However, the city always demands a building suitable for that era. And with that energy, the city will continue to regenerate for the future.
The Kabukiza Theater as a building has fully fulfilled its mission.
Let's leave the future development of this area to the new theater.

A year later, even if you visit here again, the building will be covered with soundproof boards for demolition.
You will not show him.
