Rooftop of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi

[Mido] April 26, 2011 08:30

A long time ago, during the Showa era, the rooftop of a department store was a little amusement park.
The Ferris wheel, monorail, and mini SL are moving.
For children, such as game corners and penguin shows.
It was a fun place.
How is the rooftop of such a department store now in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi?
I went to the rooftop. The rooftop of a department store, for short, "Depaya" is right?

Since the Mitsukoshi Main Store is 7 stories high, the rooftop is on the 8th floor of the building.
Perhaps because there are many high-rise buildings around the building, there is a gap between the buildings.
It's like a "space" ..., and unexpectedly there is a sense of openness.
The first thing you'll notice is the tower tower that towers on the rooftop, a symbol of Mitsukoshi.
The mark is quite noticeable.
And there are various plants in the garden called "Chelsea Garden".
Heals the tired heart of everyday life.
In addition, there is a stone monument engraved with "Echigo-ya in Soseki". Soseki Natsume's
Echigo-ya (currently Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi) often appears in novels.
Before going to elementary school, Soseki himself went to Echigo-ya to buy yellow Hachijo and shrink surfaces.
It was written that he was brought to me.

There was a shop on the rooftop, but looking at the menu, zaru soba 315 yen.
Ramen 500 yen, Tarako pasta 500 yen, and Ninmari is a common setting.
On the day of the interview, despite the warm weather, people were sparse.
So I took a leisurely nap.
Sleep in a prime location in Tokyo without being disturbed by anyone.
I don't think there are so many places where you can do it.
I think it can be used for a date as a secret place.
Why don't you take a look at "Depaya" for the first time in a long time?
