As you may know, the Ginza Sony Building will end its 50-year history, and the dismantling of the building will begin on April 1, 2017. I think there are some people who have been in front of Sony Building when meeting in Ginza. When Sony's new products came out, I went to the building and tried various things. In that sense, this building has an attachment and makes me feel lonely. The former site will be "Ginza Sony Park", which can be used as a park or event space, and the new building will be completed in the fall of 2022. It seems that the height and number of floors are undecided so far.
Currently, the Sony Building is exhibiting Part-2, which is the second half of the "It's a Sony Exhibition". In Part-1, we exhibited a number of products since the founding of Sony (1946) under the theme of "history", along with advertisements at the time, but in Part-2, we hold live performances and talk shows on the theme of "future". Artificial turf is laid on the 1st to 4th floors, creating a space where you can experience the concept of "Ginza Sony Park", "facility open to the city" and "park in the middle of the city".
In particular, what impressed me was the "park xylophone" of about 35 meters from the 4th to 2nd floors. When a wooden ball is rolled from the 4th floor, the ball hits the xylophone and plays Louis Armstrong's masterpiece "What a Wonderful World" (this wonderful world). If you have a remnant in the Sony Building, why not visit the "It's a Sony Exhibition" held until the end of March?
