At Harumi Wharf in Spring

[Koedo Itabashi] March 23, 2012 08:30

On a sunny holiday afternoon, I had my father and son at Harumi Pier.

"Dad, great.

  This ship is too big."

"It's a ship that connects all over the world. It's not half the size."

"From this deck, you throw paper tapes and see them off. I've seen it on TV."

"Dad, you can see the Rainbow Bridge on the other side."

Father, "It's a good view. The whole bridge can be seen clearly.

Let's walk over last year. I was scared when I looked down because this ship was so high that I could pass in time."

"I was not scared."

"That's right. You're strong.

You could see a glittering building in the north from the top of the bridge.

That's the Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal."

"I remember it. I saw it shining brightly."

Father: "The view is good, so it will be the best place to see for the Tokyo Minato matsuri in May and the Tokyo Bay Fireworks Festival in summer.

The night view will be beautiful."

"What is that high chimney?"

Father, "That's the chimney of the Central Incineration Plant.

  Let's search on the internet.

The height of 177.5 meters is the second in Tokyo after the Toshima Incineration Plant.

The incineration capacity is 600 tons per day.

We are supplying the residual heat to "Hot Plaza Harumi."

Look into the face of the son who is not very interested.

My father, "I wonder if I can't get an image.

There is a free tour, so why don't you apply for it next time?"

"That's interesting."

My father: "It's a bit troublesome if you say it's fun.

You'll be surprised at the size of the fire, such as the fire running during incineration.

How is garbage from schools, homes, companies, etc. treated?

By knowing that, I think what you can see will be different."

  It's been a while,

Father, "Dad looks at the situation after the earthquake.

  I couldn't say anything.

I can't tell the screen of the TV.

That's why I was very happy that Tokyo moved quickly to the debris disposal.

  It's a heart-breaking thing."

"Dad, the spring sea is calm."

My father, "The clear sea of spring."

・・The sea is connected to the world.
