Hagi City trip the day before World Heritage registration

[Koedo Itabashi] July 26, 2015 14:00

"Wow, it's like a Cambodian archeological site."

As it continues to rain, we went up the stairs at the entrance, turned to the right and looked down, and a tall brick building.

The two-legged chimney is a reinforced trace, or is bricks of different colors.

Its height is 10.5 meters.

It looked like a stupa built in a dense forest in the rain, as the two people walking in front of them raised their voices.

Hagi reverberatory furnace.

late Tokugawa shogunate, a metal melting furnace that is indispensable for casting iron cannons to strengthen the defense.

It is one of the World Heritage groups of Hagi.

I visited Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture on the day I was supposed to be registered with World Heritage.

I imagined that the flag of "Holiday, Meiji Japan's Industrial Revolution Heritage Group, World Heritage Registration" flutters.

"Well, you've been postponed for a day."

The volunteer guide's uncle, too, looked sorry.

It felt a little distracted, but on the other hand, there weren't many visitors, so I took a commemorative photo firmly.

The Sanin Main Line tracks are surprisingly close to the left in front of the reverberatory furnace.

If the Diesel locomotive runs with white smoke, the atmosphere of Cambodia will become even more and more.

The ruins of Emisugahana Shipyard.

Unless you imagine your imagination until Ansei 3 (1856), you will not be able to float.

I wonder if the area where the stonework remained was the venue for the launch ceremony at that time.

Taking advantage of the registration of World Heritage, there will be a sudden improvement in the area where the explanation board is only available.

Matsushitamura Juku.

One of my alumni is from Nagato, and "Mr. Matsukage. Mr. Matsukage has a habit.

Though I thought he was a troublesome guy, for some reason, I went to drink well.

Somehow, I have been visiting Shoin Shrine for the last three years.

The streets of Hagi Castle

There are a lot of places where you want to press the shutter.

This year, the statue of Genzui Kusaka in Central Park was built.

It is said that the unveiling ceremony was held on January 24 as the "Advanced statue of Genzui Kusaka" at the break of 150 years after the change of the gate (this means 150 years after the death of Genzui).

The ceremony was held grandly with actor Masahiro Hidashide attending.

My bride thinks that the model of the statue with his right hand held forward is Higashiide-kun.

Hagi Museum.

It is located in the area of the former senior samurai area, and I always just passed through the entrance, but this time I have been taking a closer look.

The curator speaks very easily, so stand up and talk long.

I wanted to have a little more time for a gentle personality, but I left the museum with only time to eat "summer orange soft".

For a review of the trip, go to "Oidema Yamaguchikan" on the first floor of Nihonbashi Plaza Building, 2-3-4 Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku.

As an antenna shop in Yamaguchi Prefecture, a number of specialty products and various pamphlets are collected.

I will tell you in detail the highlights of the trip.

Dried pufferfish overnight and kamaboko are recommended items.
