A specialty cafe born in "the best place in the world"-Akagiya Coffee

[Vickie] Nov. 30, 2011 08:30

Take the metro link you love today to Takashimaya ... that? Did you have a cafe in such a place? Then, I got off in a hurry and infiltrated "Akagiya Coffee".

Akakiya Securities is a building that towers dignifiedly at the Nihonbashi intersection, opposite COREDO Nihonbashi. I wonder if there is a modern cafe on the first floor there.

A very stylish atmosphere. Despite being modern, do you say it's somewhere Nihonbashi-like?

The inside of the store is wider than I expected, and the counter on the left. I'm shy. Today's coffee is 290 yen. It's about the same price as a certain Starbucks. Looking at the back of the shop, I wonder if there is something particular about ... something big machine.

This is the "complete hot air method" roasting machine. It seems that there are only a few cars in Japan yet. Yeah. This machine has a considerable presence in the stairwell store up to the 2nd floor!

Well, take today's coffee and butter toast to the second floor.♪

The brand-new wooden table and chairs are very nice. It's comfortable to sit down. I wish I had brought it in a novel, but it's okay! I secured a seat by the window overlooking the intersection. Here you can spend a lot of time while enjoying delicious coffee.

In 1929, Akakiya Securities took root in Nihonbashi, saying, "If you do business, you will be the best place in the world." Cored Nihonbashi across the other side was still "Shirakiya" ... it was an afternoon time to think about the history of Nihonbashi.

This is a limited-time store opened with Akakiya Securities when it was rebuilt in 2014 (due to a redevelopment project around Nihonbashi Takashimaya) to "contribute to local people."

Isn't Kanzaburo Nakamura of the future? ~ Shintomiza Children's Kabuki

[Vickie] Nov. 29, 2011 18:26

Do you know "Shintomiza Children's Kabuki" by children in Chuo-ku?

In Chuo-ku, the birthplace of Edo Kabuki, I am impressed by the young generation still working hard to inherit that tradition.

Today's stage is the central hall on the 1st floor of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, a large stage commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Chuo-ku Shopping Street Federation!

When I was waiting with a light feeling, "Is the little kids dancing cute?", I was surprised at the dignified dance for a while.

I'm impressed by the dignified appearance of the screen behind, even more the statue of the heavenly woman! The crowded customers and foreigners were watching closely. By the way, today's performances are "Kotobuki-style Sanbaso" and "Shiranami Five Men". Even as an adult, it seems difficult to understand properly.

I was watching at the end, so I saw a little at the back of the stage sleeves, but the little kids actors waiting for the turn said, "Wow, I'm nervous!" I could see what I was saying, and this was a childish and smiling!

From the children's hard work, we are sure to get power.

The next performance will be the "Setsubun Festival" at Tepposu Inari Shrine on February 5, next year, so please look forward to it!
