"Debussy, Music and Art" Exhibition

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] July 20, 2012 08:30

Marcel Bachet "Portrait of Claude Debussy"

debu1.jpg

I only knew that Debussy was a French composer and impressionist, but this year was just the 150th anniversary of his birth, and an exhibition was held at the Bridgestone Museum of Art entitled "Between Debussy, Music and Art impressionist and Symbolism."happy01

This is a joint project with the Orsay Museum in Paris and the Orlangely Museum of Art.shine

deb3.JPG

As Debussy said, "I like painting as much as music," it was a very discoverable exhibition that clearly shows that he loved paintings (especially impressionist paintings and Japanese ukiyoe paintings), inspired by them and made songs.flair

Many paintings by famous painters such as Manet, Monet, Cezanne, Degas and Renoir are also on display.good

debu2.JPG

What was particularly interesting was the photograph taken at Debussy's house, with Katsushika Hokusai's "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji Kanagawa Offshore"down hanging on the wall behind him and Stravinsky.

The influence of Japonisme was also explained in a space.

This exhibition will be held until October 14th (Sun).happy01

Kyoto-style fan "Ainami" in Kyoto-kan

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] July 18, 2012 13:30

On a midsummer weekend, we went to the Kyoto Pavilion on the 1st floor of the Yanmar Tokyo Building, a 1-minute walk from the Yaesu Central Exit of JR Tokyo Station.happy01

kyoto1.JPG

The Kyotokan is an antenna shop opened as a base for transmitting information about Kyoto, and is a pioneer in several prefectural antenna shops in Chuo-ku.shine

After buying 1,000 pickles (delicioussign01) of "Nishiri" for a limited time, looking at the hall, I found a fan that looks like summer and Kyoto-like.sign03

kyoto2.JPG

The photo shows the fan of Kyo fan "Aiba" (Aiba). "Ainami" is a long-established store that has been in business for 300 yearssign01.

In addition to the practical purpose of cooling the fan, it is said that it has been used as a gift as a lucky items to decorate it and feel the coolness with the eyes, and to "cut off the demon with the wind."flair

kyoto3.JPG

The design of the watermark fan that was displayed was a long sword hoko that was at the top of the Yamahoko cruise at the Gion Festival, and its elaborate construction was truly an art craft.shineshineshine

This month, Kyoto is at the height of the Gion Festival. At the Kyotokan, the BGM of "Contichitinnotes" and Gion Hayashi played, and the fragrance of the incense was free, so it felt very good.

Please refer to the website of the Kyoto Museum.

In addition, we received special permission and took pictures where photography was prohibited in the hall.

Vermeer Exhibition in Ginza

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] July 9, 2012 18:43

Johannes Vermeer "The Girl of Pearl Earrings"

ver1.jpg

From June 30th, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno, the "Mauritz Highs Museum Exhibition The Treasure of Flandle Painting in the Netherlands" will be held, and you can directly appreciate the works of Vermeer and other Flandle painters, but in Ginza, this year Since January, the "Vermeer Hikari Kingdom Exhibition" has been held, and on the way home from work, I went to here.happy01

The location is Vermeer Center Ginza in Ginza 6-chome. The opening time is from 10:00 to 18:00, but there is a special night viewing party only on trees, Friday, and Saturdays, so you can watch it from 19:00 to 22:00. By the way, this night viewing party is until July 22nd.night

ver2.JPG

All 37 Vermeer's works on display here are "re-create", a reproduction of the colors at the time drawn by Vermeer, using the latest digital mastering technology.shine

ver4.JPG ver3.JPG

ver5.JPG

I like Vermeer, and I've seen Vermeer's works scattered in museums in Europe since I saw the "Gurl of Pearl Earl" at the Mauritz Highs Museum in Den Hague over 10 years ago, but even though "re-create", when his work is in a room lined up, there was no sense of reality.happy01

The prepared voice guides (Kaoru Kobayashi and Rie Miyazawa are in charge of Vermeer and his daughter) explained the picture one by one, and it was very good to understand the background of the times at that time.good

ver6.JPG

On the other hand, I went to the "Mauritz Highs Museum Exhibition" on the weekend, but it was very crowded, but I was very satisfied that I was able to appreciate my favorite real paintings of Vermeer and Rembrandt.

Ginza's "Vermeer Hikari Kingdom Exhibition" will be held until Sunday, August 26 with an extended period.scissors

Hotel in St. Luke's Garden overlooking Chuo-ku

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] July 2, 2012 12:50

There was a party at the company, and I used a private room for a small party at the Tokyo Hotel New Hankyu Tsukiji on the 32nd floor of St. Luke Garden. It was a tower building that was always just passing by while looking up, but when I went up, the view was too good and I spent a memorable time, so I will introduce you.happy01

The photo shows the view at dusk from Kazan, a panoramic Mick room on the 32nd floor.sign01

Odaiba, Tsukishima, Harumi, Sumida River, Kachidokibashi, Tsukiji, Hamarikyu, Shiodome, and Tokyo Tower (!) I can look around with a panoramic view.shine

The view from the party room "Violet" on the same floor is also wonderful. From Tsukuda Island and Ishikawajima Riverside Condominiums to Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge on the Sumida River, Chuo-ohashi Bridge on Shahari Bridge, Eitai Bridge, and Sky Tree. If you look down on the water bus "Ryoma" from here, it looks like a toy shipship

luca4.JPG

The hotel had a stairwell from the 33rd floor to the 38th floor, with gentle light shining. It's a calm and a little hideaway chic place.good

From the Japanese restaurant and iron plate grill corner on the same floor, you can enjoy a different view again. Personally, I feel like discoveringsign01 a new healing space in Chuo-ku.happy01
