Johannes Vermeer "The Girl of Pearl Earrings"
From June 30th, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno, the "Mauritz Highs Museum Exhibition The Treasure of Flandle Painting in the Netherlands" will be held, and you can directly appreciate the works of Vermeer and other Flandle painters, but in Ginza, this year Since January, the "Vermeer Hikari Kingdom Exhibition" has been held, and on the way home from work, I went to here.
The location is Vermeer Center Ginza in Ginza 6-chome. The opening time is from 10:00 to 18:00, but there is a special night viewing party only on trees, Friday, and Saturdays, so you can watch it from 19:00 to 22:00. By the way, this night viewing party is until July 22nd.
All 37 Vermeer's works on display here are "re-create", a reproduction of the colors at the time drawn by Vermeer, using the latest digital mastering technology.
I like Vermeer, and I've seen Vermeer's works scattered in museums in Europe since I saw the "Gurl of Pearl Earl" at the Mauritz Highs Museum in Den Hague over 10 years ago, but even though "re-create", when his work is in a room lined up, there was no sense of reality.
The prepared voice guides (Kaoru Kobayashi and Rie Miyazawa are in charge of Vermeer and his daughter) explained the picture one by one, and it was very good to understand the background of the times at that time.
On the other hand, I went to the "Mauritz Highs Museum Exhibition" on the weekend, but it was very crowded, but I was very satisfied that I was able to appreciate my favorite real paintings of Vermeer and Rembrandt.
Ginza's "Vermeer Hikari Kingdom Exhibition" will be held until Sunday, August 26 with an extended period.
