From June 28 (Wednesday), "Movie Classroom 2017 Japanese Animation from Materials" will be held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo Film Center in Kyobashi 3-chome.
(1st Ghost Boat (YUUREI SEN))
This year is the 100th year since 1917, when animated films were born in Japan, and to commemorate that, this screening was planned.
(The Princess of the 1st New Edition Moon Palace)
It is a very interesting project to show Japanese animated films in a series of five times while introducing materials and methods.
The first one is six animations of cut paper and shadow pictures, the second is three doll animations, the third is a cell animation of Toei video, the fourth is a cell animation of Musshi Pro, and the last fifth is a synthesis of cut paper and live-action, abstract animation, There are eight screenings of works of various materials and styles such as wool at a time.
(The 2nd Penguinbo, Lulu and Kiki)
The event will be held five times on June 28 (Wed), July 5 (Wed), 12 (Wed), 19 (Wed), and 26 (Wed).
All times are issued and opened at 7:00 pm, starting at 7:20, and each time, it seems that a researcher will give a commentary of about 15 minutes.
(5th PROPAGATE (flowering))
It is a valuable opportunity to see typical Japanese animations 5 times (19 works) at a time with commentary.
Personally, I'm excited to see the 3rd "Shirajaden" scheduled to be screened on July 12th, and I'm excited to see it after a long absence.
