Hanami Jogging Sumida River Terrace

[Ryokichi] April 19, 2012 08:30

This is a time when there are many introductions to cherry blossoms, but please allow me to add another from the viewpoint of jogging lovers.

The Sumida River Terrace, the usual jogging course, gives you a special feeling of the year only during certain periods from March to April.

On this day, we started Eitai Bridge. On a sunny weekend morning, if you go along the Sumida River bank from the direction of Eitai Bridge to the area around Shinkawa, you will be greeted by the scenery that is always open, but at this time, gorgeousness will be added. The air is getting warmer and I feel spring on this day.

The road is like a cherry blossom corridor. It was such a moment that I couldn't say with beautiful or stunning expressions like the moon.

If you go straight, you will reach Chuo-ohashi Bridge. From this bridge, you can see the new Tokyo landmark, the Tokyo Sky Tree. It is a picture of a good balance with Eitai Bridge.

In the future, run along the bank of Tsukuda Island while looking at Eitai Bridge, pass through Paris Square and Aioi Bridge to Koto-ku once. This time we will have a look at Chuo-ku. Along the bank, head from Echinakajima Park to Eitai Bridge, and cross the bridge to return to the starting point.
This is a little more than 2 km. (In fact, there are not enough people to run with this alone, so I went up the Sumida River to Hamacho Park and enjoyed running cherry blossoms.)

I realized that the Sumida River, which has been popular with the common people since Edo, is an important element that composes the charm of Chuo-ku. Cherry blossoms, next year.

During this season, the existence of cherry blossoms is too strong and overwhelming, but the Sumida River Terrace is a safe and good jogging course (or promenade) where you can always enjoy the scenery.
