"Sengai-san" in Shintomi-cho

[illy-ship Sun Ichiro] August 25, 2010 15:00

Sengai Kazuo is famous for being a Zen monk and painter in the late Edo period.

When I see his work, I can't help laughing.

There was a wonderful restaurant called "Sengai" in Shintomi-cho.

The chef is a big fan of Sengai, and a shop of the same name was opened in Araki-cho, Yotsuya, but it was expanded and relocated to Shintomi-cho last November with the current owner.

Inside the store, there is a picture of Sengai up to the toilet. The food is also excellent.

Blogko, who is also a fan of Sengai, was thrilled.

※There is also a website and owner blog.

By the way, next to Chiyoda-ku, the "260th Birthday Sengai Exhibition" will be held at the Idemitsu Museum of Arts from late September.
