[Mr.Chuo-ku] May 9, 2013 09:00

I think many people know the "Lion statue" in front of the entrance of Mitsukoshi Department Store.

Suddenly, it's a quiz.

There are "Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store" and "Ginza Mitsukoshi" in Chuo Ward.

↓ Which of the "Lion Statue" is?

About "Lion Statue"

・Installed at the entrance of the head office in 1914

・Invented by Ousuke Hibi, the manager of the time, who is said to have laid the foundation for Mitsukoshi Department Stores.

・Order at U.K. when visiting Europe and the United States to prepare for the opening of a department store

・The four lion statues under the Nelson Memorial Tower in Trafalgar Square in London are modeled.

・It took three years to complete.

・269cm from the forefoot to the tail, 120cm from the height to the head.

・Lion statues imitating the Nihonbashi Main Store are also installed at major Mitsukoshi stores all over Japan.

The correct answer to the quiz is "Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store" on the left and "Ginza Mitsukoshi" on the right.
