Restoration of the guest facility "Yon Liao Pavilion" in Hamarikyu Garden

[TAKK...] January 7, 2016 16:00

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has revealed that it intends to restore the Yan Liao-kan, a guest facility in the late 19th century in the Hamarikyu Gardens by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

It seems to be a facility to welcome foreign guests.

The Yan Liao Museum is the first guest facility in modern Japan, and was initially started as a naval facility in the Shogunate at the end of the Edo period.

It was completed in 1869 and was dismantled in 1890 due to aging.
