What is this? It's watermelon.
What is this? Soap
It is a soap & fruit carving with a history of more than 700 years of Thai royal family.
With a single carving knife (watermelon and soap), you can create such a work of art.
It's hosted by Atelier Be Free.
It is being held at Gallery Ginza on Ginza Marronnier Street for three days from July 27 to 29 (when this blog was posted, "Is it held?")
The watermelon was carved by the teacher and students the day before.
The venue had a good scent of soap.
The venue was banned from taking pictures, but we received special permission and took pictures.

July 25 is "Day of Shaved Ice". It seems that it comes from the place where Natsugoori, a nickname for shaved ice, is spoken with 7,2,5!
Although it is a short period from today to July 31st (Tuesday), you can enjoy shaved ice of natural water from Nikko at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store.
The place where natural ice made by human hands in winter is stored until the summer shipping time is called "ice room", and it is said that there were nearly 100 houses in the early Showa era. However, due to the improvement of technology, the demand for natural ice has been reduced, and it has been affected by global warming and the destruction of the natural environment, and now there are only one in Chichibu and Karuizawa and three in Nikko.
Thin sectional shaved ice that can only be made with block ice, which is called "horny ice" unique to natural ice, is a fluffy mouthfeel than it looks. It has a soft texture!
The recommendation of the shop is "Tochiotome Strawberry". Of course, the strawberry syrup of Meijiya, which I always eat, is also delicious, but this Tochiotome strawberry has a gentle taste like a jam. I see, it goes well with natural ice!
For a limited time, it is a store opening in one corner under the Depa, but please take this opportunity to try it. You may not be satisfied with "Garigari-kun" anymore (that's delicious, but laugh)!
At the food collection on the first basement floor of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Building
Limited until July 31st (Tuesday).
This is "Tochiotome Strawberry" 840 yen.

On July 22nd (Sun), a cleaning party was held to wash Nihonbashi, an event once a year.
In this event, as the name implies, everyone cleans Nihonbashi.
For the Nihonbashi fire brigade, which "discharges water" water for cleaning
The children flock.
Whether the purpose is to wash the bridge or to bathe ...
It was a chilly day that I couldn't imagine in July, but the children were very fine.
The participants wanted to wash the "Japan Road Mark" and the center of the bridge where the plate was embedded was always full of people.
Participants bring their own deck brushes, one of them.
I found a prominent jumbo-sized deck brush!
Its size is about 5 times larger than a regular deck brush (right photo, upper left)!
The owner of this brush, which reads, "Let's prevent furniture from falling, falling, and moving in preparation for an earthquake!" Was the Nihonbashi Fire Boys.
Finally, the Nihonbashi fire brigade discharged water on the signboard of "Nihonbashi" attached to the highway, and the road cleaning truck finished and washed the road surface, and the event ended successfully.
Please come to Nihonbashi, which has been polished shiny by the hands of local people.

Marcel Bachet "Portrait of Claude Debussy"
I only knew that Debussy was a French composer and impressionist, but this year was just the 150th anniversary of his birth, and an exhibition was held at the Bridgestone Museum of Art entitled "Between Debussy, Music and Art impressionist and Symbolism."
This is a joint project with the Orsay Museum in Paris and the Orlangely Museum of Art.
As Debussy said, "I like painting as much as music," it was a very discoverable exhibition that clearly shows that he loved paintings (especially impressionist paintings and Japanese ukiyoe paintings), inspired by them and made songs.
Many paintings by famous painters such as Manet, Monet, Cezanne, Degas and Renoir are also on display.
What was particularly interesting was the photograph taken at Debussy's house, with Katsushika Hokusai's "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji Kanagawa Offshore" hanging on the wall behind him and Stravinsky.
The influence of Japonisme was also explained in a space.
This exhibition will be held until October 14th (Sun).
