Good-bye "Fujimaru" From Harumi to the last cruise

[Yotaro] June 28, 2013 17:00

IMG_0750.JPG At the Harumi Passenger Terminal, the familiar passenger ship "Fujimaru" will retire at the end of June. Fujimaru is Japan's first full-fledged luxury cruise ship owned by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and operated by the Japan Charter Cruise. In 1989, the first year of the cruise was also called the first year of the cruise. In 25 years, the voyage over 70 laps of the earth was used by 500,000 people. It's lonely that the pure white hull, orange fannel marks, chic and beautiful appearances will not be seen.

"Fujimaru" In 1987, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines ordered an order from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Kobe Shipyard, and the launch ceremony was held on September 10, the following year. The name of the ship was publicly recruited, and was named by Minister of Transport Shintaro Ishihara at the time, and Mrs. Ishihara cut a champagne with a golden axe and broke a champagne, creating "FujiIMG_0762.JPGmaru". In 1989, after a trial run, it began to be active as Japan's first large cruise liner in April. The total tonnage is 23,235 tons, a total length of 167 m, a width of 24 m, a navigation speed of 18 knots, and a passenger capacity of 600. The eight-layer deck has a hall, theater, pool, large public bath, etc. The class is international ocean and the port of registration is Tokyo. Recently, he was mainly active on charter cruises.

"Fujimaru" On the evening of June 30, after the "Thank you! Fujimaru" ceremony at the Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal, depart for the last cruise to Hatsushima, return home on July 1, enter the dock, and probably sell to foreign countries It is said that. Even if the name changes, I want you to call at Harumi again one day and show a beautiful appearance.

This time, the first floor hall became a “open space for presentations”, and a single stage entitled “Gaze at Misuzu Kaneko Life” and a presentation introducing activities by participating organizations were held. The festival, which uses the venue from the first to fourth floors of the museum, was crowded with children from nearby elementary schools and residents of the city.

Aunt's Morning Market in Ningyocho Katsugiya

[kimitaku] June 22, 2013 14:00

P1000207-1.jpg
Walking along Ningyocho-dori in the rainy season, a morning market began on the east corner of amazake Yokocho.

I heard the rumor, but an aunt is expanding the store alone and talking with customers with a smile.

P1000208-1.jpg The cucumber in the photo is wonderful. Cucumber full of baskets.

I tried to count the gloss of the morning picked, but I can't count how many there are. It looks very heavy if you have it. 。

The customers are familiar, and everyone leaves the store with a word. There are lots of vegetables in my hand.

I try to take a picture of my aunt, but I can't easily cut the crowd.

Looking at her aunt from a distance, she always smiles to the coming people. This woman is not just a man.

Since the store was finally vacant, go near, I squashing in and greeting with "Hello".

Aunt greets with a smile saying, "Konchi is a customer, cucumber is good, 100 yen for 4 bottles, let's lose a little more ...".

P1000211-1.jpg

When I asked, I started when I was still in my twenties, saying, "I was still a punchy ... hahahahahahaha" was born in 1928.

Young people may not know, but he said that he was doing "Katsuya" at that famous Keisei Electric Railway. Stop it 20 years ago.

After that, he said he was doing a morning market here in Ningyocho. He said he brought vegetables from his house in the morning.

"It's close to you here and there, it's nice," he said. Shortly after that.

"How about tomatoes, this is another, how about?" Everyone was happy to buy. 500 yen for 4 bags.

P1000209-1.jpgWhen I heard, "I don't have any money."

"It's good, I'm a hobby," "I'm boring at home, and I'm going to talk to you here."

"Young now, I can't carry this luggage, because I got on the train many times heavier."

In the 1940s, aunts of "Katsugiya" boarded from around Sakura, the leading car of the Keisei train at that time.

When I entered the city center, I went around to dealers from various places and sold vegetables.

P1000212-1.jpg Now, my aunt lives in Abiko. My husband came in a light tiger until 7 o'clock in the morning, left it here, and sold until 11 o'clock.

Today's aunt, the vegetables were sold well, and only cucumbers were left, waiting for her husband to come.

The shop is closed once a week on rainy or bad weather days. It seems that you can't go out unless you are in good physical condition.

Shake hands with your aunt. "I'll come again," he said, "You're well."

 "What's your name?" When asked

"I don't have enough to give my name,"

Grandma gave me the hot youth of Showa.

Children at Tsukiji and Namiki Shrine

[Shitamachi Tom] June 10, 2013 08:00

The festival of Tsukiji's Namiki Shrine is held in early June every year. In the first place, it has been handed down as the "Natsukoshi Festival". It is known as the "Lion Festival" because the large lion head is made into portable shrine and paraded around.

IMG_20130608_191405.jpg

The main festival is decided once every three years and was held last year. Therefore, this year is the so-called 'Yin Festival'. Still, on Sunday, the head office portable shrine travels around each town. It is a summer event that everyone at Tsukiji is looking forward to.

I'm sure someone will report on the main event, so I'll tell you about the imperial procession Children's portable shrine Union held on the 8th.

At 3:00 pm on the day, the children's portable shrine and floats departing from IMG_20130608_191325.jpgthe side of Tsukiji Honganji Temple went around each town to Namiki Shrine. Here we receive a purification from Shinto priesthood, take a break, and then return to each town.

Even though it is in the middle of the city, it is lively with many children gathering. In Chuo-ku, the population of children is increasing now. Children's cheers really soften their feelings.

IMG_20130608_191113.jpgWhen departing in front of the shrine, the representatives of the children hit the claps side by side on the table. Generally, in festivals, it is called "Take". The children were nervous and tightened the second half, and started the second half.

It's a great time for me.

P1000352.JPGEven though the child portable shrine is small in size, it has the same craftsmanship and craftsmanship as the large portable shrine. The children said, "Wow. It is said that the shouting of "wasshoi" progresses bravely, smiling and reliable.

When the cruise is over and the dissolution is over, the children are relieved and pulled back by their parents.

It is a great pleasure that traditional event is firmly connected across generations. And I once again felt the significance and importance of expanding the exchange of local communities.
