Seki Bunno Bag & Pouch Festival

[Apricot peony] July 30, 2014 09:00

It is very rare in St. Luke's International Hospital, but there are two galleries in the sense of therapy to patients proposed by Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara.

In addition to paintings such as pastel paintings, there are a number of works that heal people's hearts, such as handmade accessories and handicrafts such as accessories.

ck1203_20140729 (3). jpgThe first gallery next to the cafeteria on the first floor will be held from August 4 (Mon) to 9 (Sat).

"Seki Bunno Bag & Pouch Festival" will be held.

Seki's parents' house is Minori, a bag shop that used to be located in Ginza 7-chome.

The shop has closed its 98-year history and is currently selling online as a "Minori" brand, but she grew up on the top floor of a shop just on Ginza Street.

In the past, it was a multi-purpose house, so there were quite a few people who actually lived in the middle of Ginza, and she is such a genuine "Ginza kid".

Seki, who studied design at Joshibi University of Art and Design and Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School, began to be interested in cloth and dyeing while at school, and this time he was entrusted with a large amount of dyeing samples from a dye shop introduced by an acquaintance. For this reason, we decided to hold a "bag & pouch festival" with original bags with a taste of "wa" full of Edo atmosphere.

There are obstetrics in the hospital, so cute items for small children are also available.

Also, depending on the color and pattern, there are some items that can be used stylishly by men.

Speaking of me, when I was young, the kimono became flashy and couldn't wear it, but I couldn't dispose of it because I had memories, and when I consulted Seki about what to do, the kimono was a parasol and the haori was a small bag I made it back.

At that time, Mr. Seki said, "If you face the cloth carefully, the cloth will tell you what to do in the meantime."

In this guide, it was written that "I made the encounter between the sensibility and cloth cultivated in Ginza", but as the words implies, I think that a wonderful world of works will be unfolded.

It's the season of Bon Odori at Tsukiji Honganji!

[Shitamachi Tom] July 29, 2014 09:00

Tsukiji Honganji Bon Dance Scene. jpgThe annual Bon Dance Festival of [Tsukiji Honganji] will be held grandly for four days from July 30 (Wed) to August 2 (Sat). The number of visitors has increased every year, and now not only the neighbors but also the number of people coming from quite a distance has increased.

Above all, the feature of this Bon Odori is that it is lively and lively. Even if you are good at business trip sales and dancing at a famous local Tsukiji store, you will feel fun. On the 1st (Fri), there is also a setting called "masquerade dance", and it is also interesting to see dancing in elaborate costumes.

Preparation for Honganji Temple 2.JPGNaturally, it is the precincts of the temple, so I think that the strict feeling of the memorial service of the ancestors, which is the original purpose of Bon Odori, is maintained firmly. I have to feel some humble attitude of the people who gather.

In the first place, Bon Odori has been held all over the country about a thousand years ago as an event of the Buddhist Yelan Bon Festival. Unlike now, I think this event was rooted in the hearts of the Japanese people in an era where we had to entrust the end of life and death to nature and fate, and how much we missed the local events. .

The town of Tsukiji has been developed as the temple town of Honganji. Therefore, I may have a deep feeling of thinking about this traditional event in history.

Preparation for Honganji Temple 1.jpgBy the way, when I visited the precincts just before the weekend, the people involved were struggling to prepare. The turret stands up and waits for the day steadily.

Please come to this wonderful Bon Dance Festival! Your heart will be washed.

Unique Advertisement of Ginza Sony Building (Art Wall)

[Mr.Chuo-ku] July 23, 2014 09:00

I think many people have seen unique advertisements appearing on the wall of Sony Building (Sony Building) at the corner of Ginza Sukiyabashi intersection in Chuo-ku.

An example of an advertisement (click on an image to enlarge)↓

Giant 3D lotion bottle (POLA) "Huge sphygmomanometer" The blood pressure value is displayed in the air.

5.jpg 6.jpg
Aerial fashion show "Amazing Spiderman 2" decorative unveiling ceremony

This advertisement has a history, and in December 1957, a neon advertising tower was installed at its current location. In 1957, two years after the launch of the transistor radio, the first neon advertising sign using a bean ball at that time became a hot topic.

History of Sony Building:
December 1957 Sony appeared in Sukiyabashi, Ginza.
June 1959 Showroom Opened
Construction of Sony Building started in June 1964
April 1966 Sony Building Opened

I think it would be nice to see this advertisement when you go to Ginza for sightseeing etc.

The cheers of children in the town of Tsukiji

[Shitamachi Tom] July 15, 2014 17:00

At the beginning of the summer vacation every year, the Tsukiji Children's Festival, which is held for local children, was held on the 13th (Sun) this year. This is the 40th anniversary of this year.

The venue was [Tsukiji River Park].

First of all, we will hear from the police station and the fire department about precautions for summer vacation. It is everyone's wish that local children spend their summer vacation safely and healthy.

Festival poster. jpg

In the venue, "yo-yo fishing", "shooting", "toy corner", etc. were set up, and children were running around the venue with cheers.

In addition, there are plenty of light meal corners operated mainly by youth clubs. "Yakisoba", "Frankfurt sausage", "shaved ice", "cold watermelon", "popcorn", etc. All of them are provided to children and their families.

2014 Children's Festival 3N.jpgAt the end, fireworks for souvenirs were also distributed. The children go home with satisfaction. It's a time for adults to feel relieved to see it.

2014 Children's Festival 2N.jpgIn Chuo-ku, such local events are held here and there. If you see it when you walk a little bit, please call out. The people in the town will be happy to return their greetings. Chuo-ku is a town that values the connection between people.

At today's Tsukiji event, cultural walks and foreign tourists passing by were smiling at the children.

It will be held at the same time in Tsukiji next year, so please drop in. You may be able to encounter a surprising real face in the area.

[Chuo-ku to enjoy with children] #01: Café with Graffiti (Ginza, limited time)

[Dye] July 10, 2014 14:00

This is a new mom correspondent m(__)m

Correspondent blog, too? ) I'm getting used to it little by little, so I'd like to start a series from a mom's perspective without permission.

The title is [Chuo-ku to enjoy with children]!

Chuo-ku has the image of an adult city such as Ginza and Nihonbashi, but I would like to introduce some spots that can be enjoyed by children little by little.

The first one is "GINZA RAKUGAKI Cafe & Bar by Pentel".

The walls, floors, and windows inside the store...A dream-like shop where you can graffiti anywhere!

It's something you can't usually do, so not only children but also adults can fit.

However, it seems to be crowded for a limited time until 7/27 (Sun), so I think it would be better to make a reservation when going out. It was a 90-minute system.

The 7th floor of a new building with impressive trees.

As expected, in the calm atmosphere of Ginza, the shop is also a gentleman.

s05_01.jpg s05_02.jpg s05_03.jpg

...However, the inside of the store is full of graffiti

s05_06.jpg s05_07.jpg

Dr. Dazai, too...

s05_05.jpg s05_04 (2). jpg s05_08.jpg

The curtain is also a canvas. The bathroom is also a must-see.

I drew "Tenharu Senta-kun" of the Chuo-ku Tourism Certification Mascot.

s05_09.jpg

I wonder if you've made a mistake.

Both dishes and drinks are colorful and exciting. And it's delicious!

I had the cocktail made with non-alcoholic.

s05_10.jpg s05_11.jpg s05_12.jpg

↑A photo taken by a mom who went with me. Vivid~☆

I also had a souvenir. Mr. Pentel, please give me a smart measure!

s05_13.jpg

It's excellent in writing.

When I asked at the time of booking, there was no chair for children, but it was possible to put a stroller in the seat. There seems to be a children's menu too.

The shop was very kind to us with children, and I was grateful.

At night, I think it's a completely adult atmosphere with BAR, but I think you can enjoy graffiti even with children at lunch.

I can't see it.

This summer, you can experience only here!
