Shopping at Hiroshima Antenna Shop

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] January 27, 2016 14:00

Hiroshima Brand Shop TAU, an antenna shop in Hiroshima Prefecture, is located along Ginza 1-chome Yanagi-dori St.

By the way, "TAU" means "deliver" in the dialect of Hiroshima.

hiros002.JPG

This "TAU" uses four floors of the building, from the first basement floor to the third floor, from the sales floor where Hiroshima's specialty products are collected, restaurants serving dishes using local ingredients, as well as crafts and professional sports (baseball and soccer) goods corner, event space to communicate the charm of Hiroshima, and so on.

When I entered an antenna shop in many prefectures in Chuo Ward, I would definitely buy something, but what I bought on this day was baked shrimp, throat candy, and cider.

hiros003.JPG

Yaki shrimp is "Setouchi Sea-produced shrimp" (Onomichi, a town of history and literature)

Throat Candy is "Sedota Setoda Lemon Throat Candy"

Cider is "Setouchi Jijo Lemon & Hassaku Cider" (using natural water of Hiroshima famous water)

All three were made from specialty products from Hiroshima Prefecture and the Seto Inland Sea, and each was delicious.

In Kobuna-cho

[Marsha Horiuchi of Edo] January 27, 2016 09:00

I went to Kofunecho for lunch.

1) First, we had a lunch with "Funasushi" and it was a reward for the weekend.
It has a quiet appearance, and the crisp sushi held by Mr. Itamae is delicious.

2) And if you go a little to the right, you will find Iwashiro Inari Shrine, a banner that says Success XX.
After all, in the Edo period, it was just said to be "Iseya, Inari, dog droppings", and everywhere.
You have Mr. Inari.

3) Then, as a souvenir to my house, I bought a dorayaki of the confectioner "Higetsudo". On the spot
He put the bean paste (the seal of rabbit and cherry blossoms), and put it in such a wonderful bag (200 yen).
Did you know that you will make dorayaki with an original brand seal here? By all means, please.

4) Finally, we went to the Kanji Art Exhibition of "Iba Sen" who was worried about Zutting.
Looking closely, I finally found that the character "Ki" is written like a person's laughing face.
I understand (the mouth is open and you can see it on a smiling face - the mouth part represents a vessel for sake and cooking -
Description of hieroglyphic characters unraveled by Shizuka Shirakawa, a master of ancient kanji studies.

"Toto no Renkai"

[Marsha Horiuchi of Edo] January 14, 2016 16:00

It was in the New Year's pine tree that passed by a hurry. At the end of last year, I participated in the stamp rally called "Toto norenkai".
Many are located in places called downtown Tokyo (Chuo-ku, Taito-ku, Sumida-ku, Arakawa-ku, Koto-ku, Chiyoda-ku, Minato-ku).
It is a story that he made good legs regardless of the rain and wind while traveling back and forth between Edo and the present (exaggeration! I'm going alone.

"Toto norenkai" is a collection of 54 goodwill shops founded in Edo and Meiji eras and has a history of more than three generations and 100 years in Tokyo.
It is surprising that it was launched during the postwar turmoil period of 1951.
Tsukudani, eel, amazake, dumplings, glasses, fruits, laver, lacquerware, Japanese paper, tea, brush, bento, folding fan, toothpicks, etc.
Knife, Inari sushi, sweets, taiko, tempura, sukiyaki, tofu, Western cuisine, soba, footwear, Buddhist altars, dolls, duck, sake, anko pot,
Bread, kimono, hahabahabaki, tabi, hampan, bonito flakes and everyday items such as clothing, food and shelter are friendly.
Meanwhile, 26 long-established brands have shops in Chuo-ku. (Chuo-ku, \ (^ o ^)/)

I usually stopped by several shops, but in the future it seems that I will go more easily.

Temporary use of municipal bicycle parking lots has started.

[kimitaku] January 12, 2016 14:00

At the municipal bicycle parking lot from January 5 this year

Temporary use has started.

DSC_1443.JPG DSC_1445.JPG DSC_1444.JPG

Immediately at the Bizenbashi Bicycle Parking Lot, I tried to use it.

First, take a bicycle into the bicycle parking lot, then turn to the vacant number 33.

I'll put the front wheel of the bicycle. Then, in about 10 seconds, "Gachan" and the front wheel were cut.

Rock.

DSC_1447.JPG DSC_1448.JPG DSC_1451.JPG

I'll go back after shopping for about an hour, and then go to the tollgate.

Enter your number 33 in the number frame.

Because it is free, the front wheels of the bicycle are released immediately.

I was able to embark on my bicycle.

It's still the first attempt, and the staff is waiting.

When I ask, the first two hours are free.

After that, 100 yen will be required every 8 hours.

In other words, after placing a bicycle first

It's 100 yen up to 10 hours.

I was kind enough to teach you.

I've got a lot of luggage after shopping.

It's dangerous to go home by bicycle late at night.

I happened to meet my friends and drink alcohol.

It's very convenient.

Let's enjoy your bicycle life safely using the bicycle parking lot.

For details, please see the December 1st edition of the ward bulletin.

Sushi, Daruma, Kokeshi and Welcome cat Eraser can be enjoyed at sushi restaurants.

[Silver] January 11, 2016 14:00

Orimatsu, a food packaging product facing Nami-dori Street at Tsukiji Outer Market, sells erasers in the form of sushi, daruma, Kokeshi doll and beckoning cats.

The shop is located about 50m from the intersection of Tsukiji 4-chome toward Hamarikyu. (Phone 3541-0440)

Speaking of Tsukiji, it's not unusual for Food Sample, which has many famous fresh food stores and looks like food, but I didn't know it sells sushi, daruma, Kokeshi doll, and beckoning cat erasers.

This is an eraser in the shape of a sushi.

Immediately, I gave it to my granddaughter who purchased it and stayed at home.

"How about sushi?" "Do you like egg-yaki?" The gesture and tone are very cute.

It's a nice, slightly fashionable eraser. Other dharma,

There is also an eraser for Kokeshi doll and beckoning cats.

How about a souvenir of Tsukiji? The price is reasonable at 350 yen per set.

I am very pleased with the souvenirs for foreigners.

(Note) It is stated that it is for children over 3 years old, and it is necessary to be careful not to accidentally swallow it.

Meijiya Kyobashi Store, which has a history of 131 years.

[Mill] January 8, 2016 14:00

Meijiya Kyobashi Store, newly opened in September last year.

The Meijiya Building in the Italian Renaissance style, constructed in 1933, is registered in Tangible Cultural Property designated by Chuo-ku.
In the midst of modern buildings, the graceful appearance is particularly impressive.

At the time of the new renovation last year, the 130th anniversary of Meijiya's founding, the history of Meijiya was displayed in the window.
Founder Isono Kei founded Meijiya in Yokohama in 1885 (Meiji 18), utilizing his experience in commerce at U.K.
"Always the best thing,"
Under the motto, the history of working in various fields to improve Japanese food culture has been transmitted from the exhibition.

History. JPG

・For the first time in Japan, we will sell bottled beer nationwide and lay the foundation for Kirin Brewery.
・For the first time in Japan, we sell bottled sake without preservatives (Gekkeikan) and build a new distribution form of sake.
・Meiji period Starts Sales of Koiwai Butter, a fermented butter that is still less familiar to Japan
At the dawn of Japan's food distribution, Meijiya played a very important role.

The new interior of the store has low shelves, widens the passages, making it easier to see inside the store.

Old-fashioned photographs are displayed here and there, and you can feel the long history unique to Meijiya.

Speaking of its long history, the floor using this natural stone has not changed from the store before the renovation.

What a precious floor where you can't make the same thing anymore! You can also find fossils.

There are many retro items in the products that make you feel nostalgic.

It seems that this Kyobashi curry is a limited product of the Meijiya store!
It is also good for products and souvenirs unique to Chuo-ku ^^

A reprint of MY jam, which is in a can and carefully wrapped in wrapping paper.
Meijiya's MY Jam, which is still popular, was released in 1911 under the guidance of Iichiro Shiokawa, who worked on making canned strawberry jam in Kitasaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture.
It is as close as possible to the manufacturing method at the time when only strawberries and zalame sugar were cooked in a kettle, and it has a rich texture.
We can also taste the nostalgic taste of jam, which was enjoyed by high-cala people over 100 years ago.

This year marks the 131st anniversary of its founding, and the Meijiya Kyobashi store is becoming even more brilliant.

Various events are also held in the store, so be sure to check out the information before going out.
