Make a wonderful work at the Yuzawaya Ginza store and present it to important people!

[Sakura is good] October 31, 2018 14:00

I was hoping that Yuzawaya would be built in Chuo-ku, but I was delighted to see the long-awaited fashionable Yuzawaya Ginza store opened on the 6th floor of Ginza Core, next to the Nissan Building in Ginza 4-chome last year.

Yuzawaya is one of the largest specialty stores in Japan that has been in business for 63 years, including handicrafts, fabrics, and hobby materials. The store offers a wide range of handmade handicrafts and hobby materials around the world, including up to about 20,000 kinds of fabrics and more than 5,000 colors of wool, as well as online shopping. In addition to handicraft supplies, we also offer a wide range of seasonal products, sewing machines and craft supplies.

The first part to learn about Nara in Edo Nihonbashi-Nara Mahoroba-kan-

[rosemary sea] October 30, 2018 12:00

This is a rosemary sea, which covers the standard of "gifts and enjoy yourself."

IMG_20180926_125622_1 (2)a.jpg

Nara Mahoroba-kan, an antenna shop in Nara Prefecture, opened here in Nihonbashi in 9 years and April 2009.

We sell special products from Nara, provide tourist information, and hold various cultural courses.

Mahoroba ... It means "great place" and "livable place".

I would like to introduce some excellent items from Mahoroba in Japan = Okuyamato = Nara Prefecture.

IMG_20180926_122401 (2)a.jpg

Yumiko Chino, Tokyo Office, Nara Prefecture, took care of me.

Everyone knows, I took a picture with Sento-kun.

『』 The word is Mr. Chino's explanation.

Then I would like to introduce some items. Please click on the image to see the price etc.

First of all, from around the entrance on the first floor ...

IMG_20180926_122413 (2)a.jpg

Immediately after entering, the corner on the right is a so-called special corner.

"This corner will be a shelf that regularly decides on various themes and picks up and puts products."

Persimmon leaf sushi

Push sushi made with persimmon leaves wrapped in mackerel and salmon. Today there are two shops.

regional cuisine in Nara began when he came to Nara to sell mackerel caught in Kumano Nada with salt during the Edo period.

"The persimmon leaf sushi is on the left hand right after entering. Vegetables and fruits sent directly from Nara Prefecture are also placed in this corner. ]

IMG_20180926_122606 (2)a.jpg

Yamato vegetable Yamatomaru eggplant, string pepper

In front of the vegetable corner in the back, it is placed alongside persimmon leaf sushi.

IMG_20180926_122624 (2)a.jpg

Vegetable corner

In addition to Yamato vegetables, fresh vegetables sent directly from Nara Prefecture are lined up.

"I ordered directly from a farmer in Nara and received it every day."

It seems that various Yamato vegetables will be available according to the season.

In addition, leafy vegetables and persimmon leaf sushi that appears in front may be eligible for special sales on rainy days and evenings.

Rahotsu bun

"Rahotsu" is written as screw hair. The hair lined up in the head of the Great Buddha. It is said to be a symbol of wisdom.

The screw of the hair shows a snail, all of which are right-handed.

By the way, there are 492 hairs of the Great Buddha at Todaiji Temple in Nara.

Nara's specialty sweets "Rahotsu Manju" from this screw hair.

There is plenty of koshi bean paste inside. Karinto bun with a fresh texture, moist inside.

It tastes delicious once you eat it.

It was placed beside the cash register. It seems to be selling well.

IMG_20180926_123149 (2)a.jpg

Sake corner

"Nara is the birthplace of Nippon Seishu."

That's why the corner is wide in this way.

IMG_20180926_123035 (2)a.jpg

Japanese sake Mimurosugi

"Nara, the birthplace of Nippon Seishu. It is a sake restored by the sake brewing method of the Muromachi period.

Rice hikari

It is a rice that has received the highest rating of special A.

It was created by the crossing of rice called Koshihikari and Koganebare.

It is known for its small grain but very good taste.

In the Kanto region, it seems to be rice that is hard to obtain, but here you can purchase 5kg and 2kg.

Nihonbashi Ebisu-ko Bettara City, where the customs of the Edo period live.

[Hanes] October 28, 2018 18:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
On 20th of this month, I went to "Nihonbashi Ebisu Lecture Bettara City", which was introduced by senior correspondent Shiba Inu.
I was learning about Betara City in the official text of the Chuo-ku Tourism Certification, but
This is the first time I actually went to see it!
I read the news that a very large number of people were expected and went to the site a little earlier, and it was already crowded with many people because it was the second day of the event.

Bettara.jpg

There are many stalls that are often seen at festivals.
The most crowded place was the stalls pickled in Betara.
In the first place, Betazuke is a shallow salted radish pickled on a rice koji floor.
It is a traditional food that has been eaten since the Edo period.

Bettara3.jpg

It seems that the fifteenth general Yoshinobu Tokugawa also liked to eat it.
When we think that we are talking about the same thing in modern times, it feels strange.
At the store, you can sample pickled vegetables, etc.
It's fun to go around multiple stores to find your favorite pickles.

Bettara2.jpg

When I went around the shop while actually tasting, I was worried about two things.
The first is that no shop should cut the pickles and bag them.
Even though it is soft, it is difficult to bring one radish back as it is.
I was thinking, "I'm somewhat unfriendly."
Actually, there was a great reason to give it without cutting it.
The reason for this is that "betara pickles are lucky items, so I don't cut them."
If you say that, it's a bit hard to bring it home, but I want you not to cut it!

Bettara5.jpg

The second is that there are "skin" and "no skin" in Betta pickles.
It's literally the difference between whether the skin is attached or not.
The one with the skin is chewy and has a texture close to Sawaan.
According to the shop, it seems that people without skin have been around since the Edo period.

Bettara4.jpg

And there is also a Yu-Pack service that is good for those who buy Betara pickles for adults and those who come from a distance by train!
Why don't you use it when purchasing a lot?

Bettara1.jpg

In the Edo period, there was a custom in which Ebisu-ko was held in front of Takarada Ebisu Shrine Gate on October 20. At an event dedicated to Ebisu, the god of commerce and agriculture, he offered lucky items to pray for thriving business.
Today, vermilion seal stamp can be held only during the New Year's Day and Betara City, so many people gather at the shrine and enjoy the atmosphere of the place while thinking, "Is it so crowded at that time?"

B.jpg

Also, if you jump out of the venue of Bettara City and walk around the town of Nihonbashi, you will find it.
The "He" of "Nippon Nihonbashi Karuta" depicted in the enclosure of the construction being carried out at the site of the Nittetsu Nihonbashi Building.
I realized that it was about Betara City!

Bettara8.jpg

Let's touch the sleeves of people who go to the city.

Because I carried it with just tying the radish with a rope, I carried it around.
It is a content that reminds me of the origin of Betazuke, which has come to be called "Betazuke" because it inadvertently scratched the clothes of other people.

For women who pass through pickle so that they don't want to keep their kimono dirty.
During the Edo period, when there was a man who was interesting and tried to put on the ground on purpose....
In today's Betara city (unfortunately?) There is no such man, but
If you missed your chance this year, why not come and play next year?

What's the goal of Betara City?

[Nyan,] October 27, 2018 18:00

On October 20, we participated in the welfare council festival held in Chiyoda-ku (ward office) next to Chuo-ku. .
We had a variety of entertainment/workshops, Ultraman Seven participated in the event, opened stores in our sister cities, Tsumagoimura and Akita. In addition, various handmade foods are sold at low cost, so we were able to have a more enjoyable time than we had imagined.
hukusi.jpg
The photo shows a list of food at the store. I received most kinds, and I was quite hungry.
kyabetu.jpg
Tsumagoi Village (a sister city of Chiyoda-ku) is cabbage. (The photo shows the cabbage of Tsumagoi Village)
All dishes and chopsticks at the store are unified and thoroughly reused. The festival in the future may be like this.

********************
By the way, while reflecting on that I ate a little too much, I walked to Nihonbashi via Kanda.
Yes, this time it's Betara City in Nihonbashi.

takarada.jpg
Speaking of Bettara City, among the various theories, the name "Bettara Pickled" comes from the fact that radish is pickled with sweeteners such as koji and sugar, so it sticks on clothes . In the past, a young man shouted, "I'm swaying a radish tied to a rope while shouting, "I'm swaying it ~, I'm swaying it on the sleeves of a visitor's kimono." "
There are some descriptions in this article. In a sense, it looks smiling, but personally, at that time, if you pollute your kimono, it would be harder to remove the smell and dirt more than modern times, so is it really permissible like such a junior high school student? ? I'm wondering about it.
How did you actually do it?

By the way, my aim is "with skin" and "red turnip" among pickled vegetables.
20181020_135852.jpg20181020_141215.jpg
I ate too much before coming to Betara on this day, so I didn't get much hungry, but it's fun to go around the stalls and walk around.
What are you looking for? If you missed this year, it will be fixed on October 19 and 20 every year, so I hope you will incorporate it into your schedule.

It is called the antenna shop rally, Galactic Plaza

[saru] October 27, 2018 14:00

In Chuo-ku, there are 25 antenna shops in prefectures, roads and cities around Ginza and Nihonbashi. From October 4 to 23, the antenna shop in the city participated and the 13th Antenna Shop stamp rally in Chuo-ku was held. I found this stamp rally on Saturday afternoon on the 20th. So, I made a plan to go around the antenna shop in Ginza on Saturday and Nihonbashi on Sunday. (I happened to be on Sunday off, and on the last day, it was very safe to return to work on Tuesday) I just pray for the present.

DSC_3575z.jpg

If I noticed a little earlier, I think I could have enjoyed shopping with plenty of time, but I was sorry that I couldn't shop much because I didn't have much time and it was a super express. Under such circumstances, Iwate Ginga Plaza, an antenna shop in Iwate Prefecture in Higashiginza, is holding events and lotteries until Sunday, 28th, for the 20th anniversary.

DSC_3557z.jpg

Just when I went to Morioka for work this spring, I bought the "strawberry boiled" and "Fukuda bread" on sale. Sansa Odori Festival's performance at the storefront.

The location of the antenna shop in the city is also relatively concentrated, and I think that you can go around in one day even if you walk around all. I also used a metro link for free buses around Nihonbashi and Edo buses. Why don't you go around for a walk?
