◆ Dream Tower seen from Kachidokibashi

[Sumida Fireworks] July 29, 2016 14:00

The Sumida River in summer three years ago.

Tokyo Tower, which came to Kachidoki downstream for the first time and appeared suddenly. I have a very happy memory.

s_hanabi36-1.jpg

(Summer Tower in 2013)

Tokyo Tower can be seen with an exquisite sense of distance between not too close and not too far. The terraces of the Sumida River in Kachidokibashi and surrounding areas are now rare places.

s_hanabi36-2.jpg

Kachidokibashi is a dreamy jumping bridge with a romance for the future, saying, "Is it open someday?"

s_hanabi36-3.jpg

The dream tower can be seen from the bridge with such dreams.

The scenery of the Sumida River I like most is the scenery of Tokyo Tower seen from this Kachidoki.

s_hanabi36-4.jpg

The "light of the heart" of the Tokyo people. Some people say that Tokyo Tower is like that.

s_hanabi36-5.jpg

My cousin, who worked in Tokyo for decades, often walked from Shimbashi station to Kachidokibashi.

To see the Tokyo Tower from Kachidokibashi.

Now it seems to be the best memory in Tokyo.

(2015/10/31 Halloween limited color)

The city continues to change.

Tsukiji's market, which was close to Kachidokibashi, decided to leave this area.

Will the night light in the market also move?

s_hanabi36-7.jpg

(Christmas Eve, 2015)

And the light of Tokyo Tower.

It looks like a tall building will be built, and the light of the tower may be blocked.

s_hanabi36-8.jpg

(Hamarikyu and Kachidoki as seen from Tokyo Tower)

I want you to keep it visible because it may be too narrow.

s_hanabi36-9.jpg

(From the terrace of Tsukishima)

Summer is dusk. It's recommended after it's cool.

s_hanabi36-10.jpg

You can also immerse yourself in a romantic atmosphere.

s_hanabi36-11.jpg

(Declaration of the end of the rainy season on July 28, 2016)

The lights of the market seen from Kachidokibashi and Tokyo Tower.

It's right now.

Some people have memories or don't.

The start of midsummer! Washing Nihonbashi Bridge

[Shiba Inu] July 28, 2016 14:00

On Sunday, July 24th, we washed Nihonbashi Bridge!

If you look at this, I feel that it's finally a summer performance.

DSC_7189.jpg

"Nihonbashi Washing" is hosted by [Naibashi Nihonbashi Preservation Society] and is held on the fourth Sunday of July every year. Neighborhood associations, fire departments, neighboring companies, etc. participate freely and clean Nihonbashi with a festive atmosphere. Participation is required by pre-registration. If you are interested, please contact us at Nihonbashi Preservation Society!

DSC_7166.jpg

The day is from morning to summer. It's already full of people at nine a.m. Until noon, we will have you stop the nearby road and clean it together.

DSC_7111.jpg

DSC_7119.jpg

The fire department is also ready. It's cool! The children were flocking.

DSC_7097.jpg

Well, first of all, from the ceremony.

"Japan Road Sign" in the middle of Nihonbashi Road, which you can't usually see (there is a reproduction in the square of Nihonbashi Kitazume!) And water from all over the world.

DSC_7126.jpgDSC_7130.jpg

It's cool. Yes! His figure, too...。↑

After the ceremony is completed successfully, a water truck will appear. This year, we are using reclaimed water. So the hydropower is weaker than usual.

DSC_7147.jpg

Well, I will do my best with human power!

DSC_7198.jpg

It looks like playing in the water. If the Nihonbashi River becomes a beautiful waterside, will these sights be seen on a daily basis?

And what's Starbucks across the bridge!

DSC_7107.jpg

DSC_7094.jpg

I've served iced coffee.

A lot of milk and sugar are also available so that even those who are not good at coffee or children can drink it. He served with a smile in the scorching sun. Thank you very much.

DSC_7169.jpg

One hour has passed since the start. Nihonbashi is already Awaa. By this time, those who participated in plain clothes gently evacuated to the sidewalk. Rubber sandals and shorts are required if you want to wash them thoroughly!

Speaking of clothes, people from nearby companies participating in Nihonbashi Bridge Washing...My name is happi coat.

You can see happi coat, a variety of long-established companies that you can't usually see, as well as happi coat Mania. All of them are devised to express the corporate culture, and it's fun just to look at them.

eg.jpgfv.jpgwef.jpg

By the way, companies say that even if they participate today, they will not go to work on holidays (laughs).

As various people participate and clean and clean, even strangers can somehow get acquainted with each other. Please come and see such a bridge wash and everyone! Nihonbashi early in the morning is also interesting!

DSC_7207.jpgDSC_7177.jpg

Finally, Chuo-ku is also in summer.

Everyone, please come and visit us!

     Is it beautiful?

I'm a young black-tailed gull bird with a whole brown scale!

[The Rabbit of Tsukuda] July 28, 2016 12:00

At 6 o'clock the morning, unfamiliar voices from somewhere on the Sumida River Terrace of Ishikawajima Park are echoing.

If you look closely, you can see a black silhouette near the center of the river surface.

It's bigger and plump than Mr. Kawau, what is it?

Even if you use the telephoto of the camera in the backlight of the morning sun, you will not be able to determine its identity.

Fortunately, we are gradually approaching the flow of the Sumida River.

If you reach a certain distance here, you will return to the middle of the river again.

After such a repetition several times, what is their identity captured by the camera!

Four young birds from black-tailed gull.

The silhouette of the beak clearly seen when facing sideways is exactly that of black-tailed gull.

But is the color and pattern of the wings covering the body discovered a new species? It's different from adult bird, which is just mistaken.

black-tailed gull young bird 4. jpg

black-tailed gull often picks fish that serve food at fishing ports.

It is an image of flying in groups near the fishing port.

(As an aside, seagull is migratory bird and a winter bird, so it is not in summer.

All birds like seagull that we witness in the summer are seabirds.)

As you all know, it sounds like a mecher and a cat.

In kanji, it is described as a sea cat, but the English name is Black tailed gull because it has a black belt on the white tail.

Here's adult bird.

Mrs. black-tailed gull and others as you imagine.

Umineko correspondent blog July. jpg

Well, where did these young birds come from?

Is it from a breeding ground along the Kanto region? I'm not sure.

black-tailed gull is one of the world's largest cities in Japan.

Sakhalin, Chishima Islands, Mainland China Coast to Taiwan.

It is a rare bird in the world

Five breeding grounds in Japan, including Kabushima Island in Aomori Prefecture and Tsubaki Island in Iwate Prefecture, are designated as natural monuments.

Only those that hatched in breeding grounds and grew from young bird to young birds appear in each fishing port in summer.

black-tailed gull seems to have a very high sense of territory, and the parent bird attacks another chick approaching the nest.

The chicks also get wounds until they die.

The young bird who came to this Sumida River was

It seems to be elite in the elite that has survived for about two months since hatching.

black-tailed gull young bird flies.jpg

4 black-tailed gull. jpg

black-tailed gull takes three years to breed from young bird to adult bird.

It seems that it can be identified for several years from that feather.

Mr. black-tailed gull in the upper right of the photo above is still gray and some of his wings are brown.

It can be seen like the second year.

The breeding adult bird will return to the breeding ground at the end of February next year, but the young birds will winter.

It is divided into a group that can be observed all year round on the Sumida River and a group that returns to a breeding ground.

The more you know, the deeper you are, Mr. black-tailed gull.

How old are you from now on? I would like to observe it while thinking about it.

The cormorant corps appears! The special skill is diving

[The Rabbit of Tsukuda] July 26, 2016 14:00

Something happens when walking on a rainy day!

Would you like to say that the promise you have made in the last six months?

On this day, I passed through Aioi Bridge and came to the end of Ishikawajima Park and Sumida River Terrace.

Isn't there an unfamiliar military group?

Mr. Kawau? ? ?

Usually, Kawau makes colonies on the tree, but always acts alone.

I doubt my eyes at this sight.

Corow Corps correspondent blog. jpg

1 bird, 2 birds, 7 birds, 10 birds, 15 birds, 17, 18, 18,

Are you just swimming? No, no, they seem to be catching food in groups.

When the head begins to dive, it dives one after another.

The dive speed is as if men's rhythmic gymnastics are doing consecutive back tens.

I am surprised at the strength and elegance.

Cormorant Corps Feedget Correspondent Blog. jpg

You've been catching fish for the fourth time since then.

In the 1970s, the water quality of the river deteriorated to 3,000 birds due to a decrease in the number of fish.

At that time, there were only three breeding grounds nationwide, including Ueno Shinobazunoike.

Now it is up to 150,000 birds.

This powerful swimming would have led to the resilience of the threat.

Kawau Diving July correspondent blog. jpg

Mr. Kawau, who started diving here, how many seconds do you think he has been diving?

About 30 seconds!

Once, try to stop the competition, it's hard for us to win.

Diving distances are quite good, and they appear in unexpected places.

Correspondent blog July. jpg

Why don't you take a walk with your child on the Sumida River Terrace during summer vacation?

You can see the dive Kawau near you.

Tsukiyo Edo event

[Asunaro] July 26, 2016 09:00

In the Edo period, on the night of January and July 26 in old calendar.
The event that waits for the moon to come out is "26 nights waiting"
He said.

As a famous place to wait for the moon in Edo
The busiest was along the coast from Takanawa to Shinagawa.
There are stalls near the coast, and there are houseboats for viewing moons.
It seems to have been crowded with many people.

2016 Sea and Japan PROJECT in Harumi

[Sam] July 21, 2016 16:00

R0038004LS (2). jpg R0038019LS.jpg

R0038006RSG.jpg July 18 is the day of the sea.

A new start of the "Sea Day" event "Sea and Japan Project" is based on the desire to have many people interested in the sea and feel the importance of the sea, especially the children who will lead the next generation. Has been reported.

This project is sponsored by the General Ocean Policy Headquarters, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Nippon Foundation, and is scheduled to engage in a variety of sea-related events nationwide through collaboration between industry, academia and government, including related ministries and agencies, local governments, various organizations, companies, universities, etc.

At the Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal and its surroundings, workshops, marine seminars, exhibitions, etc. were held, entitled "Sea and Japan Project in Harumi", including the public exhibition on board (partially open to the public), which cannot be visited normally. .

Open to the public: 10:30~17:00

Look for Nippon Maru.

For more than 50 years, Nippon Maru II entered service in 1984 (Showa 59) as a successor to Nippon Maru, the first sailing training sailing ship, called "Swans in the Pacific Ocean" or "Wist of the Sea," because of its beautiful appearance.

The first large sailboat that has been consistently performed in Japan, from sailing ship outfit design to production.

The sailing performance has been greatly improved compared to the previous generation, and it has been counted as one of the world's leading high-speed sailing ships, and has been awarded the "Boston Teapot Trophy" three times that year.

This time, with the guidance of the staff of the Japan Maritime Education Agency, each small group toured the inside of the ship, mainly on the deck, including the "Reder Ring", a commemorative photo point at the end.

The state of sailing training (sail drill), which will be severe, crosses the mind.

The patrol boat "Izu", the deep-sea diving survey ship support mother ship "Yokosuka", and the fishery research ship "Kaiyomaru".
