Follow the 90th Anniversary East

[Apricot peony] May 29, 2014 14:00

The annual "East Odori" by Shimbashi geisha was held at Shimbashi Enbujo from May 24 to 27.

ck1203_20140528 (8). jpg ck1203_20140528 (6). jpg

The first performance was held in 1925 at Shimbashi Enbujo, which was originally built as a place to showcase Shimbashi Geisha's arts, even though there are restaurants, shops, etc. around Ginza and Tsukiji, but the first performance was held.

Counting, this year will be the 90th anniversary performance, so I came to see it after a long absence.

First of all, when you enter the entrance of the theater, you will see the Japanese lantern of "East" in front of you.

In the lobby, kimonos are more noticeable than ever, and a restaurant landlady greets here and there.

ck1203_20140528 (4). jpg ck1203_20140528 (9). jpg ck1203_20140528 (1). jpg

In the back of the left hand, there is a special corner of "Sa-ka-su (sake, confectionery, sushi) sales floor", where drinks, limited sweets, and lunches with different flavors at each restaurant are sold. You.

At the stand in front of the escalator on the other side, limited sweets and goods are still sold.

Just like a CD size, there was chocolate in a package with photos of geishas printed.

ck1203_20140528 (13). jpg ck1203_20140528 (12). jpg

If you go up to the second floor, there is also a corner where you can sell sensha bills, fans, fans, etc., the name of the geisha, sell sake masu, and sell Don Perinion glasses.

The place that is usually a dining room is a tea ceremony.

ck1203_20140528 (2). jpg ck1203_20140528 (11). jpg

As I looked here and there, a buzzer rang five minutes before the start, so I'll hurry to the audience for the time being.

"Hospitality" became a buzzword in the presentation of the Tokyo Olympics.

It is a tradition of hospitality in Japan that has been reviewed in various places, but it can be said to be the ultimate in Hanayanagi world.

Even so, the audience seats are full because you can enjoy the atmosphere of Shimbashi Hanayanagi world, which is one of the top class.

ck1203_20140528 (5). jpg

First of all, as soon as the curtain opens, the sigh of hoo's sigh spreads throughout the hall.

Five veteran geishas dance "Aominami" in a magnificent manner, but Kiyoharu and the shamisen regions are of course geisha.

A 30-minute break when the curtain descends after a remarkable dance.

That said, I can't relax.

After all, this theater is regarded as a restaurant, and various tastes are elaborated so that you can enjoy it during a break.

ck1203_20140528 (7). jpgFor the time being, I went to the shop and purchased the program.

In commemoration of the 90th anniversary, the gold ground is vermilion and the title is "East Odori", and the wisteria flowers are foiled with gold on the top.

It is a design that feels like "Shimbashi", a stylish Saga that does not become gorgeous and luxurious in a casual place.

By the way, the cover of the 68th edition is the legendary Meiko Mari Chiyo statue by Meiji Hashimoto.

In addition, the title "Higashi Odori" is based on the masters of the predecessor of the restaurant "Kanada Naka".

And the letter "East Odori" on the red leaflet affixed to the city seems to be from the previous master of "Kanada Naka".

And what I found at the shop was "Geisha Karuta", in which both picture cards and bills became the hands of Shimbashi Geisha people.

It has a very atmosphere and is rarely available, so I purchased it immediately.

ck1203_20140528 (14). jpg  ck1203_20140528 (10). jpg

At the goods section, there was also a geisha wearing a wig costume, and they were casually answering your request for a commemorative photo.

At the tea ceremony, you can enjoy thin and Toraya sweets while looking at the front of the formal geisha, but this was a long line waiting in line.

There are many other corners, but in such a way, it will be the time for the next curtain in no time.

ck1203_20140528 (3). jpgThe second act is "Nippon's Four Seasons" divided into four places.

In the spring "Daigo Hanami", she appeared not as a geisha, but dressed as Hideyoshi, the northern government office, Yodo-kun, and Chihime.

In the summer "Waterfall Shiraito", stunning water arts are performed using real water.

Autumn is entitled "Travel in Mutsu" and is a group dance of folk song such as Mount Aizu Bandai with a feeling of Tohoku.

Two veterans dance moistly under the theme of "Fujijuro's Love" in winter "Ume at Night".

And it's finally the long-awaited finale!

On the darkened stage, only the sound of drums and gongs resonates.

Oh, haven't you yet? By the time as much time as I think, it finally came in, and the stage turned into a restaurant great hall.

In the middle is the head of a Tobi, and there are geishas in costumes on the left and right.

After a hand tightening with a single tightening, So-odori begins with a lively song called Sawagi, which is often used in the scenes of Yoshiwara in Kabuki.

I've heard that some people say, "I want to go here, so I became a Shimbashi geisha," but no matter how many times I watch it, it's so beautiful that I can sigh and fall in love.

If you can see it, on the stage, geishas who have spread to the flower path will throw a yaora towel toward the audience.

In the audience, it was a fussy to take the towel.

On the 2nd and 3rd floors, there is plenty of chance because stakeholders will scatter.

In anticipation of the time, the sister who becomes the "core" of the day hits the stage with tons and feet, and the song and dance begins again.

・The lyrics of the east dance is the Japanese dance, finally the world dance, and the curtain descends.

As soon as it was over, there were voices from the audience saying, "Oh, it was beautiful ~" and "Oh, it was fine!"

A great success with a view of Ginza from Shimbashi

[Taro Edo] May 21, 2014 14:00

The other day, when I was walking around Ginza, I found myself on the wall of the construction site where the Matsuzakaya Ginza store was located.

I took a picture because the state of Ginza in the past was introduced.

This is the state of Ginza seen from Shimbashi in Meiji 38 (1905).

The railway runs, and the state of the bustling city is depicted.

Go east

[Apricot peony] May 17, 2014 14:00

The annual "East Odori" by the Geishas of Shimbashi is held.

This year will be held from May 24th to 27th.

It is a historic performance of 90 times in series, but it was originally started by Shimbashi geisha to show off first-class arts and improve the arts.

The venue, Shimbashi Enbujo, was originally built by geisha, officials of the Shimbashi Hanayanagi world, such as shops and restaurants, and their supporters.

So, even if the place is in Ginza, it's called "Shimbashi Enbujo".

ck1203_20140516 (3). jpg ck1203_20140516 (1). jpg

By the way, this "Shimbashi" of "Shimbashi Hanayanagikai" is now the place name of Minato-ku, so why is Chuo-ku? I think there are many people who think about it.

ck1203_20140516 (4). jpg

"Shimbashi" That's because the Shiodome River used to flow through the capital highway ahead of Ginza 8-chome, and it was the name of the bridge that took it there.

Even today, only the main pillar remains under the high speed.

At the end of the Tokugawa period, there was a female master who was teaching Jobanzu in Kinharumachi, which is now the back of Hakuhinkan, near it, and was often called to banquets such as restaurants nearby, and from the Shogunate I get the approval of "I'm going to get it.

This is said to be the beginning of "Shimbashi Geisha".

After the Meiji Restoration, it was favored by political and business people from Satsuma and Choshu, and was sometimes called "Shinyanagi Nibashi" along with Yanagibashi, a representative Hanayanagi world from the Edo period.

The Hanayanagi world, which can be said to be the ultimate of "Japanese hospitality", has recently been talked about, but it is still a world with a high threshold for ordinary people.

Especially for women, it seems that there is no connection if it is normal, but with this "east", you can enjoy such an atmosphere not only in the stage but also in the lobby and the theater as a whole.

ck1203_20140516 (2). jpgFor those who want to know more about the Shimbashi Hanayanagi world, we recommend a book called "Meiko Qualifications-Hososho Shimbashi Yotan" (published by Yuzankaku in 2007).

The author, Naofumi Iwashita, came to Shimbashi Enbujo, but recently he has been active on TV and other media, and TBS TV's morning "Ippuku!" It's also featured.

The story from a former geisha who was known as "Kiyo-Sister" in this book is really interesting because the detailed customs and the customer's spirit are lively written.

Edo Nihonbashi

[Shiraji] May 16, 2014 14:00

"Good morning, sir,"
"Oh, bear-san, did you go somewhere to GW?"
"Yes, I've been caught by a oyster and have been staying at Fuji Five Lakes for one night by car."
"Well, it was good weather and the children would have been pleased." "I said by car, but wasn't it crowded along the way?"
"Yes, it was a bit congested at the Metropolitan Expressway, but I was able to run relatively smoothly. By the way, I found a little unfamiliar sign thanks to the traffic jam, and from the oysters, "What is that?" I was asked....」

"It was just above Nihonbashi heading for Shinjuku, and there was a" Nihonbashi Road Signpost ", so what do you know that? There is Nihonbashi right below, Nihonbashi is a Japanese loot, and it is a sign that Japan's roads have started from Nihonbashi since the Edo period! Even now, the word "Japan Road Mark" is embedded in the middle of Nihonbashi! "
When I said, "Dad, I know that in the social studies class, what I want to know is the" ah1 "sign written below!" It says Asian Highway, but ...?"...I'd like to ask you for your retirement....」

Asia Highway. jpg
"Well, Kenbo was a big deal to notice that sign, yes, that AH1 is an abbreviation of Asian Highway Asia Highway No. 1, that is, the Asia Highway also starts in Nihonbashi."

The AH1 Asia Highway Route 1 is a long road over 20,000 km, starting from Nihonbashi in Japan (Tokyo) to Turkey via Korea, North Korea, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Afghanistan, Iran, etc.
"Japan is also known as the modern Silk Road that goes through the highway to Fukuoka, then by ferry to Busan, South Korea, and then passes through Eurasian Continent to Europe. However, North Korea cannot pass now, there are areas where it is difficult to pass in combat areas such as Afghanistan, and there are many areas where it can be said to be rivers when it rains unpaved, and there are many areas where it can be said that can be called highways that can't pass through highways that can't pass through such as highways that can't pass through the entire Asian roads that can't be passed on highways.
http://www.mlit.go.jp/kokusai/kokusai_tk3_000071.html (Asia Highway, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism)

"Oh, I'd like to fly AH1 from Nihonbashi to Western Europe! But if it's 20,000 kilometers, it will take a month to Western Europe....」

"Yeah, I heard that the big husband of the dye shop 'Toraya' would never cross Nihonbashi?"
"Yeah, that person is also a stubborn, since the highway was built on Nihonbashi, "I don't care like a child straddling over the head of a parent whose car passes over my head!" says, "I don't want to cross Nihonbashi for a long time since the highway was built on Nihonbashi."
"No, I can understand that feeling, if I go over Ginza Street on the highway, I want to do a silver bra and it is thin!"
"By the way, why is the highway running right above Nihonbashi? You didn't have to go to such a place?"
Tokyo, which was destroyed by the war, gradually recovered, and the number of cars increased rapidly in Tokyo since the late 1950s, and the government decided to build an expressway in Tokyo in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. However, in the city center, the river and the moat were constructed in the capital highways by reclaiming the roads and moats that were relatively easy to construct.
"Oh, when I was a kid, the Sumida River was dirty and smelly!"

"By the way, in the Edo period, you carried luggage by boat on rivers and moats instead of cars, right? If so, expressways take over old people's means of transportation in the present era! "
"Yes, in the town of Edo, moats and rivers ran vertically and horizontally, and a chokibune carrying boats and people came and went, and it was like Venice! In Tokyo during the high-growth period, even if rivers and moats were reclaimed, there were few oppositions because they were reclaimed, and it was an era when environmental rights such as landscape and sunshine rights were not often said! "
http://map.goo.ne.jp/map.php?MAP=E139.46.40.076N35.40.50.727&ZM=11&st=8 (Old Tokyo)

"Yes, if you said that you would pass a road over Nihonbashi right now, the scenery of protecting cultural properties will be bad, but a fierce opposition movement will occur and you will not be able to make a road!"
"But it's called the retirement, major earthquake directly below the capital, and the Metropolitan Expressway needs to be rebuilt 50 years after construction, right? How about returning to a moat or river as in the past, if you take it away all and move it underground? "
"Yes, underground is resistant to earthquakes, and construction costs may be incurred, but since the 'deep depth method' was established, compensation is not required in principle, so it may be realized unexpectedly early."
"If you do so, the great husband of the Tiger family may be able to cross Nihonbashi where you can see a heavenly path without a ceiling! I hope it will be realized while my husband is alive!"
"Yes, then Chuo-ku may be able to register with World Heritage as a town that preserves Edo culture!"

Do your best! Arashio Room

[Hidekun] May 6, 2014 17:00

There is a sumo room called Arashio Room, a 2-3-minute walk from Hamacho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. There are many sumo rooms in Sumida-ku and Koto-ku on the opposite bank of the Sumida River, but only the Arashio room in our Chuo-ku. That's why I want to support you. In fact, shortly after the war, Hamacho had a temporary Kokugikan in Hamacho Park, where the main place for sumo wrestling was held. It's a land with a connection to sumo wrestling.

Besides, the Arashio room is very open. In other sumo rooms, you will often not be able to observe the rehearsals unless you apply in advance, but you can freely visit the Arashio room through a large window for the tour. Practice is from around 6:30 in the morning to around 10:00. Rehearsals are irregular, but the sweet scent of albaked oil and a signal that many bicycles stopped in front of the room are being practiced. If you want to know if you have any lessons in advance, you can also contact us by phone the evening before (16:00 to 20:00).

One of the features of the Arashio room is that the homepage is substantial. The world of sumo wrestling, which has many mysterious things to the general public, is the Arashio room homepage http://www.arashio.net/

If you look at it, you can see everything from how to get started, to the profile of your wrestler and the latest situation.

IMG_3702.jpg

The narrow road in front of the room is always full of foreign tourists and hot mummun. When I heard from several people, I was a tourist from Switzerland and France, and I was taught at the inn and learned about the Arashio room. If you look at the Arashio room's homepage, you will be guided carefully in English about training tours.

Soon, the May Sumo Tournament will celebrate its first day at Ryogoku Kokugikan. If you create your favorite room or sumo wrestler, you will enjoy watching sumo wrestling even more.

[Get the best vegetables for you] Commemorative event for the 350th anniversary of the birth of Kyobashi Daikon River Bank

[Dye] May 1, 2014 13:00

The Tsukiji Market, which can be said to be the world's kitchen, has a long history, and the source of the fruit and vegetable club is located at the "Kyobashi Daikon Riverside Vegetable Market Ruins". In the Edo period, this area was a loading area for vegetables such as radish, and it seems that Edo vegetable markets such as Kameido radish, Nerima radish, Komatsuna, and Tokyo udon were crowded.

 s02_01.jpg s02_00.JPG

3-4 Kyobashi, across Chuo-dori, across the police museum

This year (2014) is the 350th anniversary of the birth of "Kyobashi Daikon Riverbank", and fresh vegetables selected by Tsukiji professionals are distributed free of charge to the first 350 people every month! It's done. In April, we received delicious bananas from radish (from Choshi), carrot (from Tokushima), Shinjaga (from Kagoshima), and Tsukiji.

At the distribution party, we can talk to the representative of Kyobashi Daikon River Bank Association Isao Ishikawa, and the vegetables to be distributed are selected by professionals at that time, and they are sent directly to the market, so the freshness is outstanding.

 s02_06.jpg s02_02.jpg s02_03.jpg

The day after the distribution event was April 12 (Good Ginseng Day).

Actually, there is a baby who has just started baby food in my home, but when I boiled the radish and carrots I received here, I was leaning forward and ate many times as much as usual .

I tasted it, but it was just boiled, but it was sweet and delicious.

I realized that what is really delicious is something that naturally passes through the throat without any resistance. Also, even if I kept it in the refrigerator for a few days, I was pinning all the time.

 s02_08.jpg s02_09.jpg

I want a carp streamer named after Kyobashi "river" to eat delicious food and grow up.

The next distribution schedule will be from 12:00 on May 9 (Fri).

You can check the latest information from the link below, so please check it out.

It is very popular around this time, and there is a long line before 12:00, so it is recommended that you go early.

Also, Saturday, June 7 14: 00- (planned) is the 350th anniversary event, and Yuru characters may come! ? I'm looking forward to it.

Why don't you taste the exquisite vegetables selected by the connoisseur of Tsukiji once?
