In search of the bustle of the wholesale district

[Shitamachi Tom] May 31, 2011 09:00

Speaking of the neighborhoods of Yokoyamacho and Bakurocho in Chuo-ku, it is a well-known wholesale district in Tokyo.

Even now, when I visit during the day, the liveliness flows from various shops, and I feel that it is a "business town".

As soon as you get out of [Bakuro Yokoyama] station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, it is the entrance to Yokoyamacho's wholesaler.

[Bakurocho] The name is also used as the station name of the JR Sobu Express Line, but according to a book of history, Ieyasu Tokugawa placed Makata (Hakuro) around here when he entered Edo.

In addition, [Yokoyamacho] is said to come from the name of Yokoyama, a family member who had a place of knowledge in this area during the Edo period.

Mainly cash wholesale stores are mainly used, but recently there are many stores that sell them to the general public, so it's fun to enjoy the atmosphere while walking around.

However, it's just a businessman's town.

I think it is the manners of customers to go in and out while watching the situation so as not to disturb the shop.

You can buy a little towel or towel at once, get out-of-home jacket cheaply, and enjoy it at your own discretion.

If possible, we recommend that you take a leisurely stroll in the afternoon on weekdays.

Exhibition of materials by cultural people who are related to Tsukuda and Tsukishima

[The cat on the slope] May 26, 2011 16:30

From the end of February to the beginning of March this year, the Tsukishima Library Collection Exhibition was held at the Tsukishima Library, displaying materials from cultural people who are related to Tsukuda and Tsukishima. Some of them are still on display in the library, so if you missed this exhibition, please come and visit us.

P5180307.JPG Koji Ogawa, who is famous for landscape sketching in Tokyo, including Ginza (born in Minato, boarding house in Nagaya in Tsukishima when he was a student) colored paper.

P5180290.JPG(Left) Colored paper of Mr. Kimihiko Tsukuda, who is particularly familiar to the Showa generation (last year, a long sleep at Kiboricho Hospital)

(Right) Children's library bag in Chuo-ku is with illustrations by Tsukuda (I want an adult!)

(Left) Shinbo Minami wrote in his book, "Everyone in the Town," that he lived in Tsukishima after marriage and then moved to Harumi.

(Right) Shohachi Kimura was born in Nihonbashi. He seems to have been staying at the Kaikaikan

(Left) Shortly after I came to Tsukuda, I borrowed "Tsukishima Monogatari again" by Inuhiko Yomota (resident in Nagaya in Tsukishima from '88-'94) at the Tsukishima Library and was absorbed in reading. By the way, Shigeru Mizuki, the creator of the mouse man drawn on this colored paper, once lived in Tsukishima (currently Kachidoki 5-chome).

(Right) Ira Ishida's `` 4TEEN '', who has lived in Tsukishima, depicts 14-year-old boys living in Tsukishima (When I read this work at Tsukishima Library, It was just the year when the age of the boys who appeared ...)

I also borrowed and read Tsukudajima Futari Shobo by Tatsuro Dekune, a used bookstore in Tsukishima, Bungado, and worked at the Tsukishima Library.

It seems that this mini-exhibition can be seen for a while even in June. Please contact the Tsukishima Library (03-3532-4391) for the exact exhibition period. Nevertheless, thanks to the Tsukishima Library, I have read various books related to Tsukuda and Tsukishima. Thank you very much for your continued support!

A toothbrush specialty store in Ginza ★Mega Dent

[Mapo ★] May 26, 2011 08:30

From Yurakucho to near Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge, I happened to find a shop when I walked along Ginza Yanagi-dori St.
What a toothbrush specialty store? I tried it because it looked interesting (laughs).

It seems that it is a shop with a head office in Germany.
megadent (MegaDent)

RIMG5972.JPG RIMG5971.JPG

I asked you to introduce some toothbrushes that I don't sell much elsewhere.
One of them, the shape has changed, so I tried it.

It seems to be a standard and popular toothbrush in Sweden.
There are various sizes, and there are three levels of hardness.

RIMG6029.JPG

I bought it in a pair with my husband. Even if you hold this quite tight, you don't feel like it.
It seems that the handle part is quite hard and easy to grip.

In addition to the toothbrush, there seems to have been many dental care products.
I don't have much time and I can't see it slowly.

The tongue brush seems to be good for preventing colds. ★Let's buy it next time♪

Shiseido The Ginza is open! How to enjoy the three floors♪

[Mapo ★] May 19, 2011 09:00

Shiseido The Ginza (SHISEIDO THE GINZA) is a comprehensive beauty facility for Shiseido.
It opened on May 14th. You were also on TV!
The location is the building next to Shiseido Parlour across Hanatsubaki Street.

RIMG6801.JPG RIMG6806.JPG

When I looked into various things online, I found that the dressing table was on the second floor.
There was a paid powder room where you could try new cosmetics.
There are 10 cute rooms with different atmospheres.
It seems that you can rent a hair dryer etc. with free drinks.
It's 840 yen for 30 minutes.
I made a reservation right away and went there on the 16th.

There is also a washbasin booth, but I don't have time, so I just need to fix my makeup today.
By the way, it's 105 yen to rent a towel.

RIMG6811.JPG RIMG6810.JPG

Choose your room first.
Choose such a cute room based on white!
There is also a key door on the right side of the table to hold valuables.

RIMG6817.JPG RIMG6805.JPG

First of all, there are rules, and up to 5 items that can be brought into the room at once.
But if you use it back, you can borrow any number of items as many times as you want.

Select the first 5 items while asking various questions to the staff.
First, take the oil on the face with oil control paper.
Then wipe your eyes with a cleansing sheet.

RIMG6809.JPG RIMG6812.JPG

Then with mineral foundation of integrate.
It's a very natural finish.
And the eyes are also integrate Rain Bogue Rade Eyes
The eyeliner is a cream pencil from Majolica Mallorca.
This is soft and easy to draw!

From there, I went to get the next item again.
5 minutes left at this point! That's why it was extended (+420 yen)

Maquialage Feace Creator (Horon)
Gramaras Rouge of Integrate and
True shining gloss.
The glalamorous rouge was a cute color.
Mascara is Macara’s full vision mascara
The shape of the tip of the hair is different and it is easy to apply.

When I was in my twenties, my friend worked in Shiseido, so I used it often.
It's been a long time since I've been using makeup products.
All Shiseido's products are good~ (* ^^*)
The color is clear and the eyeliner and mascara are easy to use.

But if you ask the staff a lot and choose, 30 minutes is not enough.
Well, I can stay for hours (laughs).
It's fun if you go with your friends!

It's very relaxing in terms of space.
It may take an hour and a half if you really want to make a makeup.
This is because I usually take only 15 minutes for makeup, so people who take time may need about 3 hours (^^;

Also, on the second floor, there are places where you can have a skin diagnosis or have a professional person make makeup.
On the 3rd floor, there is also an esthetics and counseling room at Cre de Po Beaute.

And the first floor is Beauty marche. Shiseido's cosmetics are available.
Among them, the most surprising thing was this Mirai Kagami!
When you put the barcode of cosmetics, information about cosmetics appears on the panel below.
If you press the color button, you can simulate using the cosmetics.
It's amazing! I tried the teak, but my cheeks turned pink or orange.
I feel like the times have come so far (laughs).

RIMG6818.JPG RIMG6819.JPG

And this room at Majolica Mallorca. (Upper right)
All the drawers here are open and cosmetics are inside!

I couldn't take a picture because the room in Makage was full of guests.
The testers are lined up on the table and are all-you-can-use.

There are all colorful and fun products just by looking at it.
The pleasure of going to Ginza has increased by one!

The staff were all very kind and friendly.

View from the Sky of Nihonbashi - Mandarin Oriental Hotel 38th floor-

[Dandy Pine] May 14, 2011 16:14

DSC02613.JPGThe Mitsui Tower, which boasts as a landmark of Nihonbashi's so-called "Mitsui Village", is home to Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, which is famous as one of the world's leading luxury hotels.

Recently, across Nihonbashi Chuo-dori, just opposite Mitsui Tower, "Cored Muromachi" and "Nihonbashi Muromachi Nomura Building and Yuito" will welcome us with a modern look as a new face of Nihonbashi.

Even so, it seems that "smoke" is not the only thing I want to go to the top floor of Mitsui Tower, which boasts a particularly high height. The 39th floor above ground (approximately 195m height) boasts the highest height in the Nihonbashi area. On the 38th floor, there is a reception at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo.

From the entrance on the first floor of Mitsui Tower to the elevator hall dedicated to the Mandarin Hotel, we will proceed through the dim lighting while manually opening the heavy door. There are three elevators. Confirm that the reception floor is on the 38th floor on the display board and go up to the reception in the sky at once.

I was brought to the height of the 38th floor in no time, and first went around the lobby. The standing position of Mitsui Tower is built so that you can see both east and west directions directly.

DSC02621.JPG DSC02620.JPGLooking west from the lobby, you can see the buildings in Otemachi as close as you can pick it up, and far beyond you see the skyscrapers in Shinjuku Fukutoshin. If you go down the stairs on the west side and look under the window, you can get a bird's-eye view of the Bank's head office from directly above. As you know, from the top, it is well known that the roof of the Bank is shaped like the yen, the Japanese currency. This is the 38th floor of the Mandarin Hotel where you can see its shape clearly.

And the highlight is the spectacular view of the east side seen from the men's toilet on the 38th floor. It's a stylish toilet, as expected, Mandarin hotels around the world. There are two doors before you get to the bathroom. When you open the first door, you expect the restrooms to be lined up there, but there is another door. I wondered if there was one toilet for both men and women, and when I opened the second door, a sight that was completely glass-covered eyes spread.

DSC02617.JPG DSC02616.JPGThis toilet faces the east side, with a full view of the rooftops of Colled Muromachi and Nihonbashi Muromachi Nomura Building Yuito below, and the eastern end of Chuo-ku, the Sumida River, which undulates like a blue dragon, and even from all over Koto-ku, all the male figures of the Sky Tree can be monopolized. There was no one in the bathroom other than me, so I thought this excitement to everyone and shy. DSC02618.JPG DSC02619.JPGI dropped the ter. We don't expect the restroom in the hotel to become a tourist point, but we can't recommend a toilet tour with a large group. If you have a few people, why don't you go to the restroom on the 38th floor of the Mandarin Hotel for a later school?

However, what is the structure of women's toilets?......?

Tokyo Chentronase: Vol-2 (Red Purple at the end of Spring)

[ww] May 10, 2011 09:00

Under the cherry blossoms of River City, purple orchiran (silane) quietly tells the end of spring.

shiran.jpgUnder the cherry blossoms in summer, silane is now the peak of flowers.
It is sometimes seen at the eaves of Tsukuda and Tsukishima, but this is a colony and looks like a red-purple carpet.
Please go out for the cherry blossom viewing in spring, which will be over soon.
You can also see the sky tree through the flowers. (ww)
