A base for local travel in the city center. An interesting hostel in Bakurocho, a wholesale district!

[Shiba Inu] February 27, 2017 09:00

Recently, there has been a series of fashionable hostels that can be easily used in the "super city center" area around Tokyo Station. The feature of these hostels is that they are made with a focus on mobility for those who want to experience the city from morning to night, or from night to morning. What I want is not a luxury, but a cozyness and freshness of information! It's very popular with tourists.

The pioneer of this trend was in the wholesale district, Bakurocho! "IRORI" opened at the end of 2015.

It is a large guest house built by renovating a 40-year-old building and can accommodate about 70 people. It starts at 2800 yen per night! The management body is R.Project Co., Ltd., which has launched a number of projects to rediscover the charms of various parts of Japan. Mr. Dai Tamesue, a medalist, is also a member of the board.

There is a reception and a cafe on the first floor. There is a real Irori in the entrance space! They are going to bake fish here in the morning and evening. Furniture and interiors have local products from various places, and have plenty of seasonal feeling.

This cafe and lounge is also available to ordinary guests who are not staying. Every day, popular shops from all over the country go on business trips to provide delicious food and drink. The price is also affordable! The coffee is carefully brewed over time every cup, and it is very delicious.

And the very recommended reason for general use of IRORI's cafe is that there are a lot of free papers and tourist maps!

There are many information magazines, although useful contents are covered not only for tourists but also for neighbors. You can enjoy it just by reading them while drinking coffee at the end of Irori. There are people who send this much maniac information and live information of Chuo-ku....I'm also surprised at that.

IMG_8204.jpgBoth tourists and locals.

It is also a place where you can feel the local culture other than Tokyo.

Please go to "IRORI", where many "people who want to taste Tokyo" come and go regardless of age, gender, regardless of nationality, come and go. Please visit this website for information on the day's cafe menu and accommodation information!

There is a Senshafuroshiki goods @ 37-cho, Chuo-ku

[Nanako Tsukishima] February 21, 2017 14:00

Saturday, February 18 was the ninth Chuo-ku sightseeing test. I'm looking forward to the results.

By the way, this time, from the privilege of those who passed the sightseeing certification "Chuo-ku original Senshafuroshiki".

As you know, this furoshiki is studded with "Sensha bills depicting all the town names of 37 towns in Chuo-ku and patterns related to the place". There are three colors: red, black, and Edo-purple.
Furoshiki is now very popular as an important item of "Cool JAPAN", which is multifunctional with a single piece of cloth, and there are many ways to use it. So I'm very happy to receive it.

After I got this Senshafuroshiki, I changed from the one I used to "wrapping" to a "watching" one.
There are also bills that are obvious at a glance like Tsukishima's Monjayaki Shop Japanese shop curtain, but Nihonbashikobunacho's bills that depict "dansen" associated with a fan wholesaler are very tasteful. The Y-shirts and ties from Nihonbashi Yokoyama-cho are also interesting.

Such Senshafuroshiki has become the "wall hanging" of my home, and colors the Japanese-style room side by side with the woodcut amount of Hasui Kawase.

I have become a fan of Sensha bills, but the other day, I found a new Sensha bills Furoshiki goods at the Chuo-ku Tourist Information Center in Kyobashi Edgran, and I was more and more excited.
Book covers, paperback covers, smartphone covers, etc. are all three colors, red, black, and Edo purple, just like furoshiki.

This time, I purchased the "Edo Town Greeting Card" of "Kachidoki" in the photo.
Why don't you look for your favorite Senshafuroshiki goods and draw the name of the town in Chuo-ku?

Ground light

[Old Rose] February 20, 2017 12:00

The remnants of Senju-juku can be seen here and there on the old Nikko Kaido of Kitasenju.

One of them is Emaya Yoshidaya (Adachi-ku).

It seems to be the 8th generation now.

Asakusa Dempo-in Temple Street has a Jiguchi lantern, which brings out the atmosphere of the Edo period.

The streetlight is now

Many are displayed at "Hoju Inari Shrine" on Kibikicho Street.

It is tightly placed on both sides of the road, and it is fun to play with words one by one.

Ladies and gentlemen, please go to tomorrow as soon as possible.

Chuo-ku Tourist Information Center @ Kyobashi Edgran

[Marsha Horiuchi of Edo] February 7, 2017 16:00

I walked Chuo-dori for about 15 minutes from Nihonbashi and visited the Chuo-ku Tourist Information Center.

Located on the left side of Meijiya, many office workers visited this building to enjoy lunch.

A lot of sightseeing materials are lined up at the Chuo-ku Tourist Information Center on the first basement floor, and it seems that foreigners such as Chinese customers visiting Japan during this spring festival are also visiting.

Please take a picture of the center (sample sushi is well made).

"Wanwan Square" located near Shinohashi is now available!

[JRT Felt] February 1, 2017 16:00

Located near Shinohashi, which was closed for reinforcement work on the Sumida River Terrace.

"Wanwan Square" became available from Saturday, January 28!

DSC_0937.JPG

I thought it would be crowded on the first day, so I watched it on Sunday night.

Perhaps because it was just the end time on Sunday, what a chartered state!

When I went on Monday night, 2-3 pairs came.

I'm glad that there is such a convenient facility in the middle of the city. As expected, Chuo-ku!

Depending on the time of day, it will be full of a large number of dogs and owners.

I have a dog and always want to take it to a dog run.

If you think it's a bit uneasy to suddenly enter a large number of people, etc.

It might be a good idea to make a debut in a vacant night.

The location is downstream of Shinohashi, and there are two dog runs.

I felt again that Chuo-ku is a livable ward in various aspects. I love it! Chuo-ku♪♪

In addition, when using "Wanwan Square", please follow the rules.
