Landing from the waterside to Chuo-ku

[Koedo Itabashi] August 18, 2010 09:00

The coolness of summer is the waterside.

The fluctuation of waves, the bounce of light. The radiance of the wind across the surface of the water.

Strolling along the river flowing into Tokyo Bay reminds me that Edo was once a water town.

Edo Yaohachi-cho was a city supported by boat transportation, going through rivers and diggings stretched vertically and horizontally.

By the way, how do you spend the day during the extreme weather due to rising seawater temperatures and hot fucking (no longer a calm expression ...)

There is a way to turn the summer prime into the best time.

It is a boarding on the water bus "Tokyo Mizube Line" that goes around the Sumida River, Tokyo Bay and Arakawa.

There are three departure and arrival points in Chuo-ku.

From the upper reaches of the Sumida River, "Hamacho", "Akashicho / St. Luke Garden", and "Hamarikyu".

Departures to stop by vary depending on the service course, so prior confirmation is required.

Now, let's board from "Ryogoku" in Sumida-ku today and go down the Sumida River to "Hamarikyu".

The course name is "Ryogoku / Odaiba Cruise".

The boarding ticket is one coin (500 yen). Let's purchase "Hamarikyu admission fee" together at the departure and arrival site.

Departing from both countries, look at JR Sobu Line Iron Bridge, Ryogoku Bridge, Hamacho to the left, Shinohashi, Kiyosu Bridge, Sumida River Ohashi, Eitai Bridge, Echinakajima, Passing Chuo-ohashi Bridge, Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge, Akashicho. "Kachidokibashi".

Looking up at various bridges is the real pleasure of the Sumida River cruise.

The shape of the bridge, various colors. It is likely that a number of unique bridges will become "bridge enthusiasts" at once.

The ship splashes up and goes lightly.

Look, a person jogging on the waterside promenade is waving.

And the landing was Hamarikyu.

It turns the hull greatly and is sucked into the sluice gate.

Near the water bus departure and arrival point is the "Shogun Go Upground". Please enjoy the scenery in the garden as if you were a general.

The fact that there are many foreign customers is probably a feature of this easy course.

It's fun to see Chuo-ku from the surface of the water.

Even if it is far away from the stylish boating atmosphere that remains in Edo period paintings.

It's also fun to look at the buildings of the capital from the height of the river.

Ships on the Sumida River route are called "water buses."

By the way, ships on the Tokyo Bay route starting from Hinode Pier in Minato-ku are called "sea buses". Popular is "Himiko" designed by Reiji Matsumoto, sailing on the Asakusa / Odaiba line.

Well, where shall we go next?

Three photos taken at will

[Yurikamome] August 9, 2010 19:35

Since I ordered a correspondent in Chuo-ku, I have come to carry a digital camera that I was not interested in before.
I would like to introduce three of my favorites recently.

May 8
It is Takeshiba Pier shining in the morning sun seen from Chuo-ku.

June 19: Tokyo Tower on the day of the soccer match with the Netherlands.
I couldn't take the picture clearly because the lights of the later building got in the way.

August 8th, the day after the fall.
It is a houseboat I found while walking along the Sumida River Terrace toward Chuo-ohashi Bridge.
The speed was relatively fast and I could only take one shot. It is the day after the fall (August 7).

Everything is more beautiful than the picture.

Kibana cosmos from Hamarikyu is in full bloom.

Last year, the pink and white cosmos that bloomed in September has already begun to bloom if the sowing was early this year.

And Kibana cosmos called Sunset (Mexico) is planted together, but because it is a healthy variety, it blooms in ordinary cosmos or mixed in yellow cosmos called Sunny Yellow.

There is a course to go to Asakusa and Odaiba Kaihinkoen in about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

The other side of the water bus is the Kachidoki area.

You can see the Rainbow Bridge from Kuchiyama of the new gutter, and you can also overlook Odaiba and the coastal subcenter.

There is also a bench and a cool wind is blowing.
