From Nihonbashi to Tokaido Ginza on Saturdays and Sundays is a pedestrian paradise

[Silver] April 12, 2014 17:00

Today, let's enjoy walking along the Tokaido from Nihonbashi.

Oh, before that, did you buy a souvenir in Nihonbashi?

Have you seen the Bank of Japan, the Currency Museum, and the Heidai Shoran?

Did you enjoy your meal at a famous restaurant?

Then, from Nihonbashi, the starting point of Gokaido, let's head to Shinagawa-juku through Kyobashi and Ginza.

The Tokaido is also called Ginza-dori between Chuo-dori and Kyobashi and Shimbashi while it is in Chuo-ku.

As I was talking like this, I've already come to Cored Nihonbashi.

Choledo is a coined word, and it is said that "Core of Edo", which means "center of Tokyo", was shortened to be called Coredo.

It would be nice if we had time to stop by Mr. Yamamotoyama, a long-established store that discovered Gyokuro, and Mr. Takashimaya, who was designated as an important cultural property for the first time as a department store.

In the middle of Yaesu Street, there is a "bell of peace" commemorating the declaration of peace by Chuo-ku.

http://www.city.chuo.lg.jp/heiwa/monument/kane/index.html

This bell was made in the Netherlands, and in the foreground I boarded the Dutch ship Leafde.

It is also interesting that there is a monument to Jan Jooss Ten, who drifted ashore in Bungo with British William Adams.

Jan Jooss Ten received the trust of Ieyasu Tokugawa as a consultant in trade, diplomacy, defense, etc.

He lived near Edo Castle, and the land was called Yatsushiro Sukawagi. I omit the explanation of the change of place name and place, but the place name "Yaesu" is derived from him.

By the way, we pass through Tokyo Square Garden in front of Kyobashi Senbikiya, which is famous not only for gifts but also for fruit buffets.

On the right hand side of the Metropolitan Expressway, there is a monument to the birthplace of Edo Kabuki, the monument of Kyobashi Daikon Riverside.

Let's go around the police museum and the Kyobashi police box. All of them, such as the "Brick Ginza Monument" built by the great fire of the Meiji era, are guide monuments that give you a sense of history from the Edo era.

Let's compare the stone pillars of Kyobashi in the Taisho era with the Kyobashi police box. I admire the aesthetic sense of the person who designed the police box. Oh, the gas lamps are also lit.

Soon after, there is a shop for Mr. Tanizawa of the bag. It is said that the kanji called bag, actually, was devised by this predecessor.

It is so famous that the word bag caught in Emperor Meiji's eyes and asked a question.

By the way, in Chinese, it seems that the bag is written as "wrapping".

In Ginza 2-chome, reading the monument of the birthplace of Ginza, the origin of Ginza is interesting.

While exploring the shops introduced in the story for the first time in Chuo-ku, enjoy the Tokaido slowly with the feeling of walking around the city. On Saturdays and Sundays, please enjoy the pedestrian paradise of Ginza, which starts at noon.

Ginza 8-chome, I've already come to Brazil coffee cafe Paulista. Would you like to have a delicious coffee here and get a "Silver Bra Certificate"?

What's missing? There are a lot of popular songs that sang Ginza. If you want to see the "Silver Koi Monument" and sing, go to the planting of Ginza Ins opposite Ginza Church. The lovely memories of love will be revived.

Then, please enjoy Shinagawa-juku and the 52nd after that. Boa viagem !

Cherry-blossom viewing walk from Shinkawa Park to Chuo-ohashi Bridge and Tsukuda Park

[Nojinya] April 7, 2014 14:30

Last time, I invited a cherry blossom viewing on the Sumida River from Tokyo Station on the Tokyo Bus (Higashi 16), but this is a report of a cherry blossom viewing walk.

Since the flowering declaration, stormy days have continued, with rain and spring storms coming, and I was worried about the weather this weekend, but on the morning of Saturday, April 5, it was a perfect cherry blossom viewing day with the blue sky. I usually walked along the river when I went to the office.

If you go out on the east 16, get off in front of Sumitomo Twin Building and you will see a pure white Chuo-ohashi Bridge imitating a helmet in front of you and a group of high-rise apartments on Tsukuda Island. If you walk along the sidewalk in the direction of the bridge, Shinkawa Park is on the left side of the bridge. Let's walk around the Eitai Bridge.

140405sumidagawa Terrace.JPGIt's nice to walk along the Sumida River terrace because the weather is nice, but now the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, let's walk on the sidewalk above dike. There are many people who walk with dogs, jogging, and those who award flowers. The cherry blossoms that I was worried about have not yet been scattered, and you can enjoy the vivid contrast between the blue sky and the yellow, purple, and green leaves ofdike. After walking to Eitai Bridge, return to the original and cross Chuo-ohashi Bridge.

140405Messenger.JPGIn October 1992, the former French president of the Republic of France, also known as a pro-Japanese faction, was awarded to Tokyo in October 1992 when he served as mayor of Paris by O. Zadkine (French sculptor). One piece. The pink cherry blossoms of Shinkawa Park, the blue of the Sumida River and the blue sky, and the Eitai Bridge and the Sky Tree in the distance are vivid. The Eitai Bridge is lit up at night, and it is also famous as a place where many houseboats come and go and have a beautiful night view.

Cross the bridge to the left and go to Ishikawajima Park. At the northern end is the Paris Square, which was created to commemorate the friendship with the city of Paris. Along with Chuo-ohashi Bridge, it often appears as a location in movies and dramas (Good luck, eyes, etc.) In addition to the beautiful Yoshino cherry tree, weeping cherry trees (weeping cherry tree) are in full bloom.140405 Place de Paris.JPG

Cross the road from Ishikawajima Park, pass the side of Tsukudajima Elementary School, and go to the other side of the island to Tsukudajima Park. This is the place where the Ishikawajima Ashojo, which appears in the textbook of school history, is also home to flowers and greenery around the monument that imitated the Ishikawajima Lighthouse built in 1866. 140405Ishikawajima.JPGIshikawajima is the feudal lord of the Mito Domain, and Nariaki Tokugawa, also known as the father of the last Shogun Yoshinobu, built a shipyard in 1853 and became the cornerstone of the later Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries (IHI). On Saturday (and Wednesday), the Ishikawajima Museum on the first floor of Pier West Square is also open (from 10:00 to 17:00), so why not try to extend your feet together? It is a place where you can easily learn about the history of the shipyard and the history of Tsukuda Island. If you are hungry, you can take a break at a nearby restaurant, or if you reach Tsukishima, you can eat it, and it will be a fun Saturday.

I wonder if you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing by Edo bus

[Silver] April 3, 2014 18:00

 It's a refreshing morning on April 2nd.
I went to see the cherry blossoms on the Edo Bus South Circulation.
The cherry blossoms at Tsukiji River Kameibashi Park and Shukubashi Park in front of Chuo-ku government office are wonderful.

Soon, I passed through Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School and Tsukiji Honganji next to it.

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom as if to welcome the long-awaited warm spring arrival.

It seems that Yoshino cherry tree is smiling in the morning light even in front of St. Luke's International Hospital and in the Gunpow Children's Park.

The bus crossed Minami Takahashi, crossed Shinkawa and Chuo-ohashi Bridge, and approached Tsukudajima Elementary School.

The cherry blossoms around Harutsuki Bridge are also wonderful. We passed Kachidokibashi via Harumi Triton, Kachidoki Station, and Toyomi-cho.

We decided to get off at Kachidokibashi west (in front of the Nichirei headquarters) and enjoy the cherry blossoms on the Sumida River Terrace.

Visitors from foreign countries also photographed this cherry tree. Ouh! Beautiful !

Edo buses can be used as a foot for residents of the city, and it has been four years as early as possible.
The price is 100 yen including consumption tax and 300 yen per day ticket.

If you get a transfer ticket at the designated transfer place, you can move cheaply for only 100 yen.
Well, why don't you go out for cherry blossom viewing by Edo bus?
Please refer to the previous report for the cherry blossom viewing of the North Circulation.

Oops, lunch and meals before and after the walk are at Tsukiji, which is full of delicious food.
