Regeneration and Town Development of the Kamejima River

[Dame-kun] May 31, 2009 09:00

On May 28, inhabitant of a ward college * Manabino lecture (regeneration of Kamejima River and town development) class began.

Prior to that, an event was held on the 23rd (going through the Nihonbashi River by boat). Accordion performance was entered between the commentary on the ship, and it was an event to look at both banks of the Nihonbashi River and the Kamejima River, and the climate was optimal and a good voyage.

The Kamejima River, which has played an important role in transporting goods since the Edo period, has lost its utility value with the transition of the times, and has been abandoned, but has been reviewed as the redevelopment of the center of the city has progressed .

The class is to make a plan to regenerate the waterside of the Kamejima River.

Please let us know if you have any good ideas, such as creating a garden on the terrace, opening a promenade, opening a water bus route, etc.

Compare the macaron of Ginza!

[Mapo ★] May 29, 2009 08:45

There was a macaron vest 10 recommended for Nikkei Plus One short time ago.
Ladule, the first place in Japan, landed in Ginza Mitsukoshi last year, and then in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi.
A shop that became famous for the movie "Marie Antwernet"
For a while, even on weekdays, just buying a macaron waited for 30 minutes, and the salon waited for an hour.wobbly

The second place, Pierre Elme Paris, can be bought at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi.
It's just a macaron in Paris! There is a lot of cream and it's delicious.

The 7th place Daloyyo has a shop on Ginza Street.
You can buy it in the basement of Depa, but there is also a macaroon limited to the Ginza store (lower left in the photo).sign01

The 10th place Henri Charpantier is the main store of Cakeya from Kobe Ashiya.
There is also a splendid Ginza main store in Yonai Building in Ginza 2-chome.
The Yonei Building is a Romanesque building in the Middle Ages and is designated as the Historic buildings selected by Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
The macaron here is also popular.

However, these are intended for things that can be bought at department stores.
Without that, there are still many macarons in Ginza that will definitely rank.

Ginza Macaron at the Ginza West Hotel

This is also the same as Nikkei Plus One.
It was ranked 1st among recommended hotel sweets nationwide.

Normal macaroons are also delicious, but
Macarons made with honey from Ginza grown in Ginza are popular.
Actually, it's always sold out and I haven't eaten yet.

It seems that honey is not obtained very much nationwide this year, but
The honey in Ginza seems to be working hard, and there is also a newspaper on the bee project.

This year, Ginza Matsuya also sells sweets using Ginza honey.

"Miel" means honey in French.
The honey and lemon matched and it was very delicious.
We are doing honey sweets fair from Ginza until the end of June.

★Wako's Macaron (lower right)
It is a fairly large macaron with a diameter of 8 cm and is responsive to eat.

Recently, there have been a macaron boom, and many shops are making it.
I think there are still a lot of macarons in Ginza.
I'd like to report it again after excavation.

Happy Walk in Nihonbashi #1

[Happy Talk] May 28, 2009 08:30

Speaking of Edo Nihonbashi, it was built just one month after Ieyasu Tokugawa opened the Edo Shogunate in Keicho 8 (1603), and the starting point of Gokaido (Hakone University Ekiden in New Year's Day) and the Nihonbashi Fish Bank (east side of Kitazume) entered Showa and went to the current Tsukiji Market.
It was the kitchen of Edo until it was relocated.

In Keicho 5 (1600), British William Adams, who drifted ashore on the Dutch ship Reefde, went to Edo, became a diplomatic adviser to Ieyasu Tokugawa, and was awarded the title of Samurai. Marriage with Snow, the adopted woman of Kageyu, and became Anjin Miura. The area around the site of his mansion in Nihonbashi Muromachi today was called Anjincho until the early Showa era.

The giboshi in Nihonbashi, built in 1657 by the carpenter Shiina Hyogo, was exhibited in the window display of the long-established lacquerware shop "Kuroeya" (east side of Minamizume). Time slip to Nihonbashi 352 years ago!

Opposite is the Japanese dining bar on the first floor of the Kokubun headquarters building, familiar with crab cans marked with K & K in 297, its name is "Nihonbashi Ichinoichi Ichinoichi", aracart with ingredients from each place name, sake sent directly from Kuramoto, premium wine from around the world, and jazz flow space is just a stylish gourmet!

The riverside along the Nihonbashi River (Horikawa), which was the waterway for the construction of Edo Castle, can be said to be the starting point for the development of a waterfront that will lead to the Tokyo Olympics scheduled to be invited in 2016.

After strolling around the Nihonbashi area, tilt your glass at the Riverside Terrace on Nihonbashi, which boasts a history of more than 400 years, and "Cherers in Edo Nihonbashi" with fun friends at a slightly advantageous Happy Hour! "

Hana Street Road

[Kaishu] May 26, 2009 12:34

common sage bloomed bright red.

This is Chuo-dori, in front of Nihonbashi Takashimaya.
common sage plantings are arranged neatly on both sides of the sidewalk.
The name is "Hana Kaido".
It is a pretty flower that is not very noticeable on a daily basis, but the contrast with the well-maintained sidewalk is vivid in the eyes.
A well-maintained planting, cleaned and no garbage sidewalk
It makes what you see refreshing and light.
It makes the people who maintain and manage feel the high enthusiasm and pride of this city. Pedestrians are proud of their chests.
The traditional and stately city is an area that steadily implements casual attention and meticulous daily care.
I don't think, my back stretches out.

 Anaser Side, Chuo-ku (vol1: Nihonbashi)

[ww] May 18, 2009 00:42

The percentage of people who come to Ginza shopping in Sumida River in less than 10 minutes before Wako.
Do you know that you will come out?
Just like walking in Ginza, you can see the sun and blow in the wind on the terrace of the Sumida River.
It's very pleasant, but I don't think it's surprisingly known.

For that reason, Chuo-ku, where you can enjoy unexpectedly just by stretching your legs a little or deviating on a side street.
I would like to look for a good spot with the theme and introduce it.

nihonbasi01.jpgBy the way, the first time is Nihonbashi, the largest symbol of Chuo-ku.
It's easy to cross mechanically, but there's no way to taste this precious building.
One step away from the West Bank Bridge
What about it? It is a good point to view the entire bridge objectively.
In particular, the lighting up at night (pictured above) is impressive, and let's see high-speed pillars and roads, which are said to be disturbers.
It seems like a column of the Greek temple, and it seems like an effective device that creates a three-dimensional effect.
Sir. If you imagine that way, you may also see the bustle of the past on the bridge.

I don't have a sense of season around here. nihonbasi02.jpg
When viewed from the Mitsukoshi side, there are cherry blossoms on both sides of the left, and every year.
It adds the gorgeousness of spring to Nihonbashi. In particular
Yoshino cherry tree is in front of the police station on the Kyobashi side.
(Background in the photo on the right) and weeping in the morning sun.
The figure shining in the light of the night, and the figure faintly hazy in the light of the night
It has a strong presence.
The season has already passed this year, but again
It is recommended that you take a look next year if you have a chance.
I'll do it. (WW)

◆Where is the Tokyo Central Post Office?

[Akira Makibuchi / Sharakusai] May 12, 2009 10:45

The Tokyo Central Post Office in Marunouchi, right in front of Tokyo Station, is being rebuilt, but it is still new to its name recently. He said, "Because it was Historic buildings in the early Showa era, it was designated as a cultural property." After all, I left the necessary parts. In recent years, it seems to be a part of the project. You can see the current situation of the demolition work site from the upper floor of the Maru Building. You can see how it's going.

090509_chuoPost02.jpg090509_chuoPost01.jpg By the way, where has this Tokyo Central Post Office moved now?

Yes, I think many of you know, but it is in front of Tokyo Station, but it is open on the other side of Marunouchi, in front of Yaesu Exit. It was temporarily relocated from Chiyoda-ku to Chuo-ku.

Speaking of which, what is the birthplace of Japan's postal system? Chuo-ku. In 1871 (1871), the modern postal system was established, and Ekiteishi was established as a central agency in charge of postal services, and postal offices were set up in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto as handling agencies. In the location of the Nihonbashi Post Office on the south side of Edobashi, the former station priest and the Tokyo Post Office were located.
