High-rise buildings in the Nihonbashi area

[whatever] July 17, 2014 09:00

Since the beginning of the 2000s, the redevelopment of the Nihonbashi area has been remarkable. "Cored Muromachi 2" and "Cored Muromachi 3" opened in March this year, a new place in memory. With this as a border, there are many sightseeing people who seem to be in their 20s, which have rarely been seen in this area until now, regardless of weekdays and weekends. It's a great shock.
When the Tokyu Department Store Nihonbashi store closed in 1999 and opened on the site in 2004, Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower in 2005, and YUITO and Cored Muromachi in 2010, were there so many visitors?
I felt somewhat lonely that the long-established stores in the neighborhood would fit into a part of skyscrapers one after another, but that's also the "era". Since I was a part-time job as a student and even after I became a member of society, I had quite a few opportunities to get involved in Chuo-ku and this Nihonbashi area, so I am very impressed with the changes in the city.

And development is still ongoing. The "Edobashi Warehouse Building" of Mitsubishi Warehouse Co., Ltd. near Edobashi, which was featured on this blog and TV, seems to be completed soon. About a week ago, I passed nearby, but the curing sheet like that projection mapping was almost removed! It seems to be completed in August, one month later. The outer walls of the 1st to 5th floors are preserved and are almost old.

Some of the curing sheets remained.

This is the building that has recently begun to show the whole picture of Nyokinoki. It's across the street from Choredo Nihonbashi, Eitai-dori St. It seems that the completion is still ahead, but this seems to be a large office building. There was a paper "habara" that was open in a nearby building.

It seems that the development of the long-established stores such as Yamamotoyama and Takashimaya along Chuo-dori has also begun. The scenery will change again in less than half a year or a year.

2014 “Town Walking Tour” Long-established Course②

[Sam] July 11, 2014 14:00

DSC00887LS.JPG b-nihon23RSG.jpg This year's “Town Walking Tour” hosted by the Chuo-ku Tourism Association started last week.

This time, I would like to introduce "Long-established Course 2" held on July 10.

Due to the approach of Typhoon No. 8 and the front line, I was worried about stormy weather, but occasionally I was blessed with the weather that the sun showed up.

Before 10:00 on the scheduled time, 10 participants selected by lottery gathered, and immediately went around today's course "Eitaro Sohonpo", "Kuroeya" and "Yamamoto-noriten" We depart for a small tour of about 2 hours, listening to the story of products and touching the spirit of business that inherits tradition.

First store: Mr. Eitaro Sohonpo

On the right side of the entrance of the store, a large "Noren" with a white trademark dyed on a dark blue background.

After explaining everything such as "History", "Store-built and decorative various", and "Nayo Edo confectionery", we will introduce new products and seasonal limited products.

The recent trend of collaborative products, including the "Tokyo Renren Tour" (released in May this year), which was jointly developed with four long-established companies.

All eyes are nailed to the sweet potato bun named seasonal "Wamelon Manju".

It is also noteworthy that the old name "Izutsuya", which is worn by the store, is stylized.

Second store: Mr. Kuroeya

At the entrance of the building, there is an exhibition of giboshi in Nihonbashi, which is said to have purchased items brought in during the turmoil after the war, when dealing with miscellaneous items other than lacquerware.

After listening to lectures on the goodness of lacquerware, how to use it well, how to care, etc., "The texture and taste increase as the number of years increases, and you can feel the warmth", you can experience the difference by actually touching wooden and resin lacquer .

"The vermilion was originally used in shrines and temples, and vermilion is said to have a higher color position. In the case of a couple bowl, in the old days, vermilion was used for men and outer black inner vermilion was used for women. Was By the way, it is interesting to say that now black for men and vermilion for women are the mainstream.

3rd store: Mr. Yamamoto-noriten

The current headquarters building, completed in 1965, is designed with a school storehouse on the outer wall of the building, Shigaraki ware tiles that stylize the male cells of laver on the inner wall, and ceilings that image the bottom of a laver ship.

"Only baking, seaweed (you can enjoy its own deliciousness and flavor)" "How to preserve nori deliciously" "Source quality evaluation criteria such as color gloss, shape, aroma, taste, texture", "Seasoned seaweed" Development, "Japan's first drive-through" establishment, "Exclusive model contract years in the world (1967-) The history of Guin, etc., with actress Yoko Yamamoto, is also certified)

Full morning tour ends.

Participants also seemed to be full of back stories that they could not usually hear.

Mr. Inomata, Mr. Kuroeya Tanaka, Mr. Yamamoto-noriten Yamada, Mr. Yamada, thank you for your valuable story while you were busy.
