Let's be careful about asbestos walking around the city Lecture at St. Luke's on November 10.

[Silver] Nov. 7, 2016 12:00

On October 6, there was a lecture on asbestos at St. Luke's International University Building No. 2. Lecturer was Fuyuki Nagakura, Secretary-General of Mesothelioma, pneumonary and Asbestos Center.

On the day, mothers and dads worried about damage to their children came to the auditing.

"Asbestos problem approaching"

1476418111065.jpg

In the first place, asbestos was used for building materials because it said that "fireproof, soundproof, electrical power-saving, easy to process, cheap", and "excellent heat insulating, heat insulating, and building materials are excellent. It was used for construction from around 1950, with the view that there was a part. Later, it was announced that "sucking asbestos powder would result in lung cancer," and the import of asbestos in Japan was completely banned in 2004.

According to a medical magazine, "suction of asbestos can cause lung cancer in 30 to 50 years."

There are two types of cancers caused by asbestos: one is lung cancer, and the other is "mesothelioma, a cancer that forms on the membrane surrounding the lungs." In Japan, it is no longer used for building materials since 2005.

However, a large amount of asbestos still remains in the buildings and building materials built.

"sprayed asbestos", which is sprayed on iron plates and pipes, is rubbed and may become powdered with a little stimulation and may be scattered, which is the most dangerous. It is also used for the ceiling of an old school, and if you poke it with a cleaning mop, asbestos will fall and you will inspire, and never stop such play. It is often said that sprayed asbestos is used in large buildings with steel frames and reinforced concrete structures, and large buildings where people gather. This was explained that asbestos was sprayed on steel frames and reinforcing bars from the viewpoint of fire prevention to support heavy objects.

Of course, the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism are required to investigate whether asbestos is used in buildings before dismantling, but some companies ignore such procedures and perform construction. It seems that there is.

When performing demolition work, it is necessary to post a signboard such as "Notice about work such as demolition of buildings". It is hard for us to work without posting such a sign. Let's inform the ward office to have the construction be carried out safely to prevent health damage.

After the outbreak of Great East Japan Earthquake, some of the people who went to clean up the houses that were broken through volunteer activities did not know the dangers of asbestos, and I pray that they would be harmless.

He told me that even if you suction without knowing the adverse effects of asbestos, you will not be too worried. Also, asbestos is not shown in X-ray photographs, so I was told that there was no need to rushed to a doctor, and the important thing was to "prevent it not to smoke" from next time .

So, what we need to be most careful about is not to approach buildings that are being demolished or those that are undergoing renovations. He told me that when the wind blows, asbestos dust scatters, so you should wear a special dust mask so that you do not smoke. In buildings under demolition work, there are other accidents such as pipes falling from above, so keep away from them.

I heard that the company's products called 3M are excellent for asbestos aspiration prevention "dust mask". I would like to consult with you at a pharmacy.

"I always put it in my bag, and if I'm lucky enough to go to such a site, wear it immediately" and tell me that I should put it in an emergency evacuation bag.

After the lecture, there was the following quiz. I felt that my knowledge was a little deeper.

1. Of asbestos, the most toxic is spraying. (0)

2.Gauze masks are effective in avoiding asbestos. (X)

(In gauze, the hole in the cloth is larger than that of asbestos. Also, if the mask is not adhered to the face, there is no dustproof effect, so I told you how to wear it.)

3.When water is sprayed, asbestos is hard to scatter. (0)

(But when it is dried, it scatters.)

4.If you may have smoked asbestos, you should have an X-ray test. (X)

(Asbestos is not shown in X-rays.)

5.No dangerous asbestos is used in public institutions. (X)

(It is used in old buildings. Be careful when dismantling work and collecting interiors. )

6.When dismantling a building, it is necessary to disclose the presence or absence of asbestos. (0)

(At the time of the demolition work of the building, a notice of the demolition work will be posted on the white signboard. The presence or absence of asbestos must be displayed there. It is a violation if you proceed with construction without posting such a signboard. )

The website of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare regarding asbestos is as follows.

Actually, about three years ago, I completely forgot that I received Mr. Nagakura's lecture. Please refer to the blog at that time.

Historic Monument of Historic Site

[Silver] Nov. 5, 2016 16:00

With the rebuilding of the building, monuments explaining historic sites have moved from places where they have been, to vacant lots opposite.

The Edo Libra Monument has moved to a vacant lot on the opposite side. (Near the opposite direction of Nihonbashi 3-7-20)

DSC02853.JPG

According to a little guide to the monument, "Libra is an organization created for the purpose of unifying the weights of scales and the standards of rods, and there were two seats in Edo and Kyoto. The Ryoza in Edo was inherited by the Mori Sui family from generation to generation. The Mori Sui family was granted exclusive rights to manufacture and sell scales under the control of Kai Takeda. After Takeda's destruction, the second generation Nobuyoshi went to Edo, served Ieyasu Tokugawa, and became a shogunate-certified scale merchant. "

During the rebuilding of the former building, the monument to the site of the house in Hiroshige Utagawa has posted a copy of the explanatory on the panel of the enclosure with the warm consideration of the architect. (Kyobashi 1-9-7)

Ofunai Water Line

[Sam] Nov. 2, 2016 12:00

DSC02702SQRSG (2). jpg For five days on October 22, 23, 29, 30, and 31, the Nihonbashi and Fukagawa 'Mizuto Resurrection Festival' was held in the Nihonbashi and Fukagawa areas.

During the Edo period, when water transportation was thriving, the `` Water Road '', which connected both the commercial center Nihonbashi and Fukagawa, which represents downtown areas, was re-examined, and the appeal of both areas was reappelled. Event.

The event is sponsored by the Nihonbashi Kitazume Shopping Association and Muromachi Odori Association in Chuo-ku, and the Morishita Shopping Street Promotion Association in Koto-ku, the Takahashi Shopping Street Promotion Association, the Takahashi Shopping Street Takamori Association, and the Fukagawa Museum Street Shopping Street Cooperative. I heard that this is part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Shopping District Promotion Association's wide-area support shopping district business.

On the 23rd and 29th, a cruising event "Mifunai Water Line" was held to experience the "Water Road" of Nihonbashi and Fukagawa during the Edo period.

Water transportation between Nihonbashi and Fukagawa, which once contributed greatly to the transportation of various goods related to clothing, food, and housing, was bustling.

This time, about 30 minutes of boarding experience from Nihonbashi Pier to Takahashi Pier, via Nihonbashi River, Sumida River, and Onagi River.

As the times progress, goods are transported on land, reclaimed, covered with expressways, buildings turn their backs against rivers, while watching views far from the bustle and remnants of the past, You can get a glimpse of the features.

This is a cruise that reminds me of the former "Water Road" again with the guidance of a tempo river guide.
