Tokyo Marathon Course Walking Ginza Tsukishima Monja Festival

[Silver] February 26, 2011 08:30

This week, we enjoyed walking around Tsukiji from Ginza 4-chome and Tsukuda and Tsukishima from Akashicho.

At Akatsuki Park, there were two Japanese white-eye birds in white plums and the nectar of flowers.

In the monument of Siebold, I studied Mr. Siebold's merit and sin.

I entered Tsukishima via Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine in Tsukuda and Kobashi Tsukuda. What would you like to have for lunch?

Everybody hurried to the monja shop you wanted.

One group is looking at the menu in front of the Western restaurant "Piasora" next to Tsukishima Onsen.

I took photos of the group members who entered the store. The inside of the store is fashionable and neat.

I found a poster for the 1st Tsukishima Monja Festival in Nishinaka-dori Shopping Street.

When the snow shakes, Tsukuda is an old Edo island

[The cat on the slope] February 16, 2011 08:30

On the 14th, when it became a white Valentine's Day, not a White Christmas.

In Tokyo, Chuo-ku, which is relatively difficult to accumulate snow, also slightly covered snow.

The photo shows the snow scene of Tsukuda Park taken from my balcony.

*As you may know, the lighthouse with an Edo-style design in the photo is actually a public toilet.

By the way, what I would like you to remember on such a snowy day is the phrase of playwright Shuji Hojo, "If it snows, Tsukuda is an old Edo island." The monument of this phrase walks a little from Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine to the Sumida River, and stands in a corner where three Tsukudani shops are gathered.

If it snows next time (of course it doesn't fall), please come and see this stone monument.

As an aside, Hudson, which flows west of Manhattan Island in New York, often freezes in winter (flood ice flows from the north). On the other hand, the East River, which flows on the east side, does not freeze. The reason is that the water of East River is salty seawater. Even in the extremely cold winter on the East Coast, the East River was not frozen and ships could enter and exit, so Manhattan Island flourished in trade for hundreds of years. The Sumida River is also near the estuary, so there is no need to worry about freezing, and there may be some reason why it flourished as the cornerstone of water trade and transportation in Edo. However, even in the Edo period, which is presumed to have been much colder than it is now, it would not have been enough to freeze the river.

◎Correspondent's visit to the shopping street (15th) ◎ "Challenge! "With the flag: Kachidoki Shoeikai

[1suke] February 9, 2011 09:00

The center of commerce Chuo-ku There are many lively shopping streets in Japan.

Correspondents visit, see, and hear the shopping streets that are loved by the locals, prospered with the residents, and familiar to them. It conveys the lively charm and vitality, special information, etc. Chuo-ku This is the 15th "correspondent's Shopping Street Visit" that introduces the shopping associations and shopping streets.

◎Correspondent Visit to Shopping Street (15th)◎

"Challenge! "With the flag: Kachidoki Shoeikai

2010.02.08_kachidoki1.jpg

From Tsukiji, cross Kachidokibashi, go down the slope, and there is Kachidoki Station on the Oedo Line.

Today, I visited the office of Ikuo Tanaka of Kachidoki Shoeikai in the surrounding area.

Mr. Tanaka was appointed the second chairman of the Kachidoki Shoeikai three years ago, and his achievements in this community have been trusted and expected as a leader in a wide variety of activities. An Edo kid born in Chitose-cho, Honjo, who has the first certificate of the Chuo-ku Tourism Certification.

karaoke We asked you about the history of Kachidoki Shoeikai.

Kachidoki Shoeikai is a store association in which more than 70 shops scattered widely around Kachidoki Station on the Oedo Line and Kachidoki 1-chome to 5-chome and Toyomi cooperate.
In this area, as well as before the Oedo Line was built, large tower condominiums and office buildings have been constructed one after another recently, and the transition over the past few years is a sense of the past and present.

Around this area, which was said to be a downtown shopping street that sells fresh products around the 1930s, the old-fashioned shopping street lined up on one street as the environment has been improved, such as repeated road widening work. Has disappeared. The current Kachidoki Shoeikai was formed by the two merchant associations, which previously competed in this area, in response to this trend, in 1987.

2010.02.08_kachidoki5.jpgThe Shoeikai has a wide range of shops, from soba shops that have been running for 100 years since the Meiji era to convenience stores, but it reflects the history of development in this area and forms a cohesive shopping street. It is not a situation where shops are scattered in a fairly wide area.

The fact that it is not this "one street shopping street" is a difficult place.
Many people visit and visit when events such as visiting bridges hosted by Chuo-ku and visiting the grave of Tokasha 19th Tokasha are held, but it is a normal shopping street It is difficult to have something like a sales sale all over the shopping street that can be expected to attract customers.

However, in order to respond to the needs of various residents, we are exploring ways to go beyond social gatherings and debates where shopkeepers gather to meet the needs of various residents, how to set out their own direction as a Shoeikai.

karaoke What kind of activities are you doing at Kachidoki Shoeikai?

I would like to introduce some of them even though we can't do a shopping street sale.

One of the events hosted by Shoeikai is the Kachidoki Festival. This is a store opening event such as flea markets and stalls, where not only Kachidoki Shoeikai member stores but also Tsukishima and Tsukiji participate from schools and children's centers.
Last year, Kachidoki 1-chome Daini Children's Park, which will be the venue, could not be used for construction and could not be held, but this year, when this park reopened, the "13th Kachidoki Festival" will be revived. The date is undecided so far, but we are aiming to hold it from May to June. Please look forward to it.

Also, "Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine Reisai Festival in Tsukuda". Especially at the main festival (early August this year), a mikoshi comes to Kachidoki, but the Shoeikai provides a rest area.

In addition, the Kachidoki Shoeikai store also opens at the Tokyo Bay Fireworks Festival, which is held every August in Harumi. Here, I'm worried that even if it's just fried, it's "handmade" as much as possible.

In addition, we are considering plans with various ideas!

karaoke I heard about the chairman's "hot thoughts".
I love the word "challenge." We always write "Challenge!" in the announcements to members! This flag will be raised high!

2010.02.08_kachidoki3.jpgKachidoki Station has more than 80,000 passengers a day, but many are probably new residents of newly built condominiums in the surrounding area. I believe that the biggest challenge in the future is to bring more attractive shops that attract these people and shops that can accurately meet demand.

karaoke Do you have any new initiatives in a difficult environment?
Among the members of the Shoeikai, the number of shops that the second and third generations has been succeeded has increased. There are many stubborn people who do not experience office workers, but the passion for loving the city is as good as anyone. I have a hard time as chairman, but I would like to discuss a lot and share the consensus of the new era. I look forward to the vitality of the youth club of the Shoeikai.

In addition, we launched a homepage as Kachidoki Shoeikai to disseminate information. Due to various circumstances, the update of the content is currently delayed, but we plan to renew it. At the end of last year, about 40 stores were introduced on the Bay Network (regional cable broadcasting) and were very popular. We will continue to work actively in the future.

karaoke What do you recommend?

There are many small restaurants in Shoeikai, but every shop is not flashy, but there are quite a lot of repeaters because you can enjoy the atmosphere of drinking at home.

I'll recommend it. Please go out!

pencil Sweeping

It was a time to be impressed by the enthusiasm of the chairman's "emotion, heat, and knowledge". I was able to understand the times, the city and the citizens a little.

When I went outside, near noon ... the forest of the building, fashion, people who come and go ... I felt again the city where the 19th and 21st centuries (Meiji, Taisho era, Showa, Heisei) live together.

Mr. Tanaka, thank you very much for your cooperation in your busy schedule.

Kawazu Sakura

[Sam] February 5, 2011 08:30

RIMG2233S.JPGKawazu cherry blossoms on the Sumida River Terrace in the northeastern part of Chuo-ohashi Bridge. If you look closely, you can see that several branches are beginning to bloom.

It is said that the flowering time of Kawazu cherry blossoms depends on the weather of the year, but in Kawazu-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture, buds begin to bloom in late January every year, bloom in early February, and the flowering time is said to be almost one month. I have.

It is said to be a hybrid of cold scarlet cherry blossoms and early blooming Oshima cherry blossoms. The color is dark red when the buds are buds, but after flowering, it becomes light red.

I feel the arrival of spring a little earlier.
