Late autumn [Akatsuki Park]

[Shitamachi Tom] Nov. 29, 2010 17:32

[Akatsuki Park] located at Tsukiji 7-chome is a "resting place" for residents of the city, which is also used as venues at the "Health and Welfare Festival" and "Snow Festival" in Chuo-ku.

In the early morning of late autumn, when I visited the park, the autumn leaves were about to pass their peak.

The fallen leaves are rolling in the garden.maple

The park also has a popular spot for children [adventure plaza] and health promotion equipment [health komichi], and a peaceful voice will spread throughout the park during the day.

It's a refreshing morning with the sun shining on the St. Luke's Tower. It's a good idea to enjoy the turn of the season while listening to the footsteps of winter.
Please visit us as a place to take a break, such as during the Sumida River Walk. confident

Tsukiji River Park November Autumn Leaves of Hananoki

[Silver] Nov. 24, 2010 13:30

 Everybody, today. Bom dia !

On the morning of November 22, Hananoki at Tsukiji River Park is the best time to see the autumn leaves.

CIMG6946.jpg

 Hananoki is a prefectural tree in Aichi Prefecture, isn't it? In Nagano Prefecture, there is concern about extinction.

CIMG6947.jpg

 The beautiful autumn leaves and the yellow leaves of the surrounding trees are very beautiful.

CIMG6948.jpg

 You may come across a fantastic scene.

CIMG6922.jpg

 The yellow leaves and autumn leaves on the premises of the next St. Luke's College of Nursing are also very beautiful.

CIMG6924.jpg

 Please drop in to St. Luke Hospital, Akashicho, and get back and forth to Tsukiji Market.

Is the best time to see Hananoki until early December? Don't miss it.

Worrisome police box <Tsukiji station>

[Sam] Nov. 22, 2010 08:15

 Japan has a reputation worldwide for its good security. It is said that the existence of "KOBAN", which has been nurtured over a long history and has now become an international language, is also great. There are various police boxes in the police box, such as those that stand out in the city, and conversely those that are built to blend into parks and surrounding landscapes and buildings. It's also interesting to take a closer look at the police boxes around the city.

This time, I would like to introduce a "police box" within the jurisdiction of the Tsukiji Police Station.

    <Sukiyabashi police box>         <Ginza 4-chome police box>         <Ginza 1-chome police box>

  <Sukiyabashi police box>

It was built as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Design Project.

On the pointed roof, the outer wall is made of bricks inspired by Ginza Brick Street in Meiji period. At the time of the design presentation, there is an anecdote that the design model on the roof was not in time, and when the gusset needle was temporarily suspended and proposed, it was adopted as it was.

The word "KOUBAN", which has now become an international language, is on the front.

  <Ginza 4-chome police box>

It was built as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Design Project.

With a mirror-like exterior designed with space constraints, the cityscape of Ginza is reflected on the wall and blended into the surroundings.

A safety frog was previously placed on the roof, but now it has been removed.

By the way, the police box is located in Ginza 5-chome.

  <Ginza 1-chome police box>

It was built as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Design Project.

A roof designed to resemble a cod jewel attached to the main pillar of Kyobashi when it was replaced in 1922, which was preserved opposite the road.

The exterior wall is made of bricks inspired by Ginza brick street in Meiji period.

It is called a round window and a good eaves, and has a rounded appearance with corners.

 <Ginza 8-chome police box>

The area around 8-chome used to be called Shimbashi Hanamachi.

At present, there are high-class clubs. There are also many galleries and galleries in the neighborhood.

It is called the color of the building, the shape, and the appearance is assimilated around.

Place a landmark (signboard) for the placement of women police officers.

  <Miharabashi Community Safety Center>

It has a metallic cylindrical appearance.

A large four-story building.

When viewed from the side, it looks like a space shuttle launch pad.

Since April 1, 2007, it has been operated as a "Local Safety Center".

  <Central Market Police Box>

Located in Masakadowaki, Tokyo Central Wholesale Market (Tsukiji Market), the kitchen of Tokyo residents.

The roof seemed to resemble a police officer's hat.

24h. It plays a role in supporting the safe living of local people in the sleepless block.

pencilIn addition, the police box has a landmark (signboard) that enhances visibility so that the place stands out even from a distance, and makes the design familiar to the police box.
There are three types of landmarks.

   ①                 ②                 ③

①Main stations, sightseeing spots, major facilities where many people gather, police boxes near major roads, etc.

②Police boxes near residential areas, shopping streets, kindergartens, schools, etc.

③Police box where female police officers are located

Visit Kachidokibashi

[Sunset Hill] Nov. 20, 2010 02:33

I've always wanted to visit the Kachidokibashi pier, which is the largest movable bridge in Japan.

I searched for a way to visit Kachidokibashi from the web.

Knowing that the Tokyo Metropolitan Road Maintenance and Conservation Corporation is conducting a tour tour, applying, and participating.

I did it. You will see the machinery and equipment as it was when it was opened and closed in the pier.

 The bridge used to be a bridge from this position.

  We organized places and traffic of people and streetcars

 There was a traffic light left.

  In addition, people at the foot, such as when a bridge is rising

 The line that kept waiting is lined with studs of the size of a small plate

 It remains in the form.

 I went to the operation room on the second floor of the building in the center of the bridge. There are many buttons on the operation panel.

Yes, it seems that many of these buttons were operated to raise and lower the bridge.

Next, from the first floor, go down the vertical stairs leading to the machine room in the pier. Of course, for the visitor's body

He went down the stairs through a rope to guard against the belt of safety equipment to prevent crashes. I am

He was difficult to pass at the beginning of the stairs because of his wide width, and twisted his body and passed safely.

The inside of the pier is 9m in size and height for the entire tennis court. It feels very wide.

Using this large space, the machine seemed to balance the bridge when the bridge was up.

That's right.

They gave a detailed explanation and explanation of the machinery and equipment.

Below the bridge 3.JPG

 While looking at the machine inside the pier, go a little further and look outside.

 If you don't participate in the tour, you can't see it first.

The application for the tour tour is the Tokyo Metropolitan Road Maintenance and Conservation Corporation.

http://www.kensetsu.metro.tokyo.jp/kachidoki/tour.htm

The five people who provide detailed support to tour explanation and safety assurance are from the public corporation OB.

They are veterans.

They are also reliable people who can provide assistance in the event of a disaster.

The illuminated Kachidokibashi is very nice.

But I think I wanted to cross Kachidokibashi at least once before opening and closing was stopped. At that time

It was impossible because I didn't live in Tokyo.)

Snow hanging tour

[Sam] Nov. 17, 2010 13:00

RIMG1400S.JPG Even in Tokyo, where there is almost no snow, the snow hanging has a taste as a winter tradition.

November 16 "Traditional Skills Tour of Snow Suspension" was held at Hamarikyu Onshi Garden. (Scheduled to be held on the 17th)

After receiving an explanation of the winter preparation of the planted trees (frost repellent, komo roll, hanging snow <basic 3 styles, how to distinguish Kenrokuen / Nanbu Park / Northern Park type>) at the site of the Yan Liaokan, the suspension of snow is completed. Tour of the trainees' traditional skills succession training until it is completed.

Three snow hangings have already been set up on the side of the teahouse in Nakajima.

                           <Frost protection>           <Komomaki>

pencil The point of distinguishing snow hanging is (1) the head ornament at the tip and (2) how to make the hem around the hem (bute).

<Kenrokuen ceremony>: The tip of the sail column is decorated with decorative warts, and the tree branches are hung directly with rough ropes. It's also called "apple hanging". Original snow hanging suitable for a practical snow country that prevents branches from breaking due to the weight of snow.

<Southern expression>: The tip of the sail column is a decoration made of a hanging rope called Valen. Around the hem (bute), a palm rope is wrapped around the tip of the bamboo framework (bachi) and a hanging rope is tied. A delicate and splendid decorative snow hanging. Hamarikyu is such a method.

<Northern style>: The tip of the sail column is a decoration made of straw and komos called straw bocchi. Around the hem (bute), split bamboo is turned around the tip of the bamboo framework (bachi) and a hanging rope is tied. Decorative snow hanging.

pencil<Frost protection>: It is covered with straw to protect warm local plants (cycad and Digo) from the cold.

<Komo roll>: Eliminate larvae (pine beetle) and prevent frost cracking.

morning glory is in bloom in winter (St. Luke International Hospital)

[Yurikamome] Nov. 17, 2010 10:30

  2010_1116 Winter morning glory JPG

After a long time my friend came to visit, so I took a walk around Time Dome.

While walking around the Toysler Memorial Hall, the birthplace of Keio Gijuku, the birthplace of Rikkyo Gakuin, morning glory bloomed beautifully on the right side of the entrance to the hospital.

If I asked the hospital receptionist about morning glory ...

I don't know who is growing, but it seems that it blooms every year. (It seems to be perennial plant.)

It seems that it does not know the time to sow the seeds, but it seems to bloom from summer to December.

As the beautiful autumn leaves are scattered and become fallen leaves ...

The cherry blossoms and other flowers were blooming in October.
