St. Luke's International Hospital

[Ashuan husband] May 30, 2012 10:00

About 30 years ago, before I came to Tokyo for my first transfer, I knew that there was a hospital with a strange name called "Seiroca". After a while, the English name of the hospital was St. Knowing as Luke's International Hospital, I was out of Mission School and had a good point. "St. Luke" was "St. Luke".

This hospital was established by a missionary in 1874, and after many twists and turns, Ludolf Trister, a missionary of the St. Luke's Hospital purchased it in 1902. Furthermore, in 1933, it became "St. Luke International Hospital".
The area around Akashicho, where the hospital is located, is on my walking route and passes near the hospital, but as far as the outside, there was a large hospital atmosphere and there was an image that many medical professionals seemed to be difficult to approach. I had to stop by the next St. Luke's Tower to enjoy tea and snacks.
But a few years ago, my family fell on a trip to Tohoku, causing severe wounds in my eyes. I had an emergency operation at a local university hospital, but I did not go to Tohoku as it was, but I got a letter of introduction and returned to Tokyo. Eventually, my acquaintance worked at St. Luke's, so I asked him to follow up at St. Luke's. After going to the hospital several times, he was hospitalized and had surgery again, and he was hospitalized for about a week.
What I found when I entered the hospital was that, except in the case of emergency such as critical care, the treatment of patients with referrals from other medical facilities was given priority. There is almost no hospital odor in the hospital like a general hospital. In addition, nurse stations are also paperless, and there are very few documents and it is refreshing. It is close to the image of hospitals in Europe and the United States.
There are about 500 sick rooms, all of which are private rooms. Each room has a bath and toilet, so you can feel comfortable like a hotel. At present, about half is a difference bed, conversely half can be used for insurance. There seems to be no choice among patients. In the hospital, there is a Christian chapel only in the Christian hospital, so you can feel somewhat relaxed. There are also convenience stores and dining rooms, making it a modern facility.

In addition, various volunteers are working in the hospital, providing assistance not only to inpatients but also to outpatients. Speaking of "St. Luke's," many people think of the subway sarin attack. It seems that he is also focusing on emergency medical care, and ambulances are always in and out. It is encouraging that there is such a general hospital nearby.

Finally, "St. Luke's" is famous by Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara, the president of 10 years old and who is still engaged in medical care. I'm just happy to see and hear that St. Luke's walking advertising tower is still active today.

Familiar Wakamatsuya of 6-chome 12-3 Tsukiji, Edomae! A coucher exhibition is being held. It's until June 2nd (Sat). What is Studio COOCA on display this time? I think there are many people who think about it, so I will explain it. It is a welfare facility where a person with a handicap works for the purpose of earning income from what he or she likes, such as painting and creation. Now, let's introduce some of the works on display.

A recommended shop in Tsukiji Outer Market "Ankuruko-chan"

[Apricot peony] May 25, 2012 08:30

I often ask, "I want to go to the market in Tsukiji, where should I go?"
In such a case, there are always things to say before introducing some recommended shops.
That is, "Tsukiji's market is a place where professionals come to buy in principle, and there are some of the finest and rare items that are difficult to obtain, but there are few (seldom) cheap prices and explosions!"

However, there are always exceptions in the world, and there are several shops that apply to this (seldom).

Among them, the best recommendation is "Ankuruko-chan".
Located on the first floor of the Tsukiji Kyoueikai Building, the corner of the intersection of Harumi-dori St. and Shin-ohashi-dori St.

ck1203_1205231.jpg

The unique name of the store that I would never forget once I heard was given because the previous president had a relative in Hawaii and was called "Ankuruko-chan" by the children there.
However, since they also sell black tea in the store, some customers thought it was "Ankle black tea".

The items lined up in the store are confectionery such as chocolate and cookies, coffee and tea, jam and canned food such as pasta, but most of them are imported.
In the cardboard in the front, the so-called outlet product, which is "difficult" in the package such as label scratches and can crushing on the inventory of the importer.
The contents are exactly the same as usual, and the price is super "extra cheap"! In some cases, there may be a half price or less.
In particular, if you go to buy it again to give it to your friends, it may already be sold out.
But as soon as new bargains come out, I can't keep an eye on them even if I go there often.
Please drop in when you come to the out-of-market in Tsukiji.

Are you in full bloom? Rose at Tsukiji River Shukubashi Park

[TAKK...] May 20, 2012 23:54

iwaihasi1.jpg There are several parks directly above the former Tsukiji River (now the Metropolitan Expressway).

This time, I went to "Tsukiji River Shukubashi Park" where you can enjoy beautiful rose flowers.

The current congratulatory bridge was bridged in 1962, and in 1992, Chuo-ku has been renovating the main pillars and balustrades to be bricked, which also serves as a landscape maintenance.

If you go to Ginza from this bridge, you will find Matsuya Ginza, and if you head toward Tsukiji, you will find Tsukiji Honganji.

In the park, 150 roses of 8 types are planted, and it seems to be in full bloom.

I can't deny that it's a little unsatisfactory to visit this park itself, but I think you can really relax if you stop by strolling around Ginza and Tsukiji, commuting, or returning home.

Also, if you live nearby, it would be very good as a walking course.

It was a peaceful park where butterflies danced.

May Shimbashi Enbujo-Mishima Kabuki-dori Kyogen "Tsubaki theory Yumiharitsuki"

1. May 18, 2012 10:00

The evening of theater in May is "Tsubaki theory Yumiharitsuki" after a long time.

As you know, Yukio Mishima wrote a Kabuki script for the original work of Makoto, and at the premiere at the National Theater in 1969, it became a hot topic by directing himself. In Mishima's last Kabuki script, Tamasaburo was also selected as Shirasuhime at this time, and became famous at once. After that, it was performed only twice, and last time at the Kabukiza Theater in 2002, at this time, Sarunosuke fell ill one year later. This time, the role played by Somegoro, his grandfather's white parrot, and his father's Koshiro. Shichinosuke, who plays Shirasuhime, and two are a great struggle with the daytime part of Heisei Nakamuraza and a hanging appearance this month.

100_0568.JPGIt is a play of less than 4 hours through the volume of Kaminakashita, but large spectacles, crow tengu, wild boars, Hakuba, half-naked Mutota are blamed by the women at the order of Hakuseihime. I don't get tired of the feeling of Mishima preference anyway, such as the cruel scenes where huge boats and monster fish appear. Last time, Danjiro, who was on sale to Tamasaburo's white sewing princess, was thrilled to flow blood from the body where he was drunk (I don't have much taste). I remembered it just in case. You can't do an actor with extravagance. The firewood car this time seemed to be training quite a bit and there was no extravagant (envy!) 。 The "Wavemaku", which is very active in the ocean scene, was clearly seen in the front seat where the blood tide fluttered in the scene where Taro Takama committed suicide. It's amazing. "Oh!" with my neighbor.

The daytime section is "Saigo and Porkhime", "Autumn Leaves Hunting" and "Women's Armed Hell" and "Chiraku Aki on the 25th. Please take a look at the stage of the young Hanagata actor's great success following April.

The spirit of Kibiki-cho ~ Teppozu Inari Shrine Reitaisai festival ~

[Apricot peony] May 16, 2012 08:30

ck1203_1205152.jpg
May 1-5 is Reitaisai festival of Teppozu Inari Shrine.

This shrine, which is known as "Tetsugansu-san" by the Ujikos, is a shrine with a very long history, called Gyoza 1172 this year.

Unfortunately, the weather was unfortunate on the 3rd and 4th in carrying of miniature shrines.
It was postponed for one year from last year, which was the main festival once every three years.
The children were full of energy for the long-awaited.happy01

The half-wearing of the festival's accessories has the names of each town council and various associations on the back, and it is smart, but did you know that there was a half-wearing called "Kibikicho" in it?sign02

ck1203_1205153.jpgIn fact, this "Kibiki-cho"
It's the name of the town that has disappeared now.bearing

As a place, we go a little east from Ginza Chuo-dori, start from Sanumabori, which has now been reclaimed, cross Showa-dori, and reach Tsukiji.
The current official place name is "Ginza", so magazines are sometimes referred to as "areas with a downtown atmosphere that can not be considered Ginza" or "Ura Ginza", but that should be the case, from the Edo period, It was "Ginza Higashi" in 1951, and "East" in 1969 to become "Ginza Town".

So even in the same "Ginza", this is the children of Tepposhu Inari Shrine, but the Ginza Chuo-dori is the shrine parishioner of Hie-jinja Shrine.

Originally, it is said that the name of "Kinbiki-cho" was derived from the place where many wood grinders lived during the renovation of Edo Castle, and it was the place where one of Edo Sanza "Morita-za" was located. It is a venerable town name that has a very connection to the play, where there is a Kabukiza.
ck1203_1205151.jpg

For this reason, it was this half-wearing that the town council of Sanchome made to take care of the history of "Kinbiki-cho".

At first it was said that it was red husk, but now it is quite stylish that it looks like "persimmon-color", which is closely related to Kabuki as the season begins.

I couldn't do it because it was under construction this year, but one of the highlights of the festival is the imperial procession of each portable shrine in front of Kabukiza.
In particular, Miyamoto's portable shrine is splendid, beautiful in shape, and has a personality, so when you can see him heading toward Kabukiza from Miharabashi, rudely speak to the thousand actors from across the country, "Miyamoto!" I want to scream.
At the next festival, a new Kabukiza Theater should have been completed, so you will surely see a magnificent figure.
The half coat of "Kibikicho" will also be very useful.
I'm really looking forward to it!
