Introduction of member stores of Chuo-ku Tourism Association Ginza Tobu Hotel Bar Korin

[Silver] March 31, 2012 08:30

The courtyard Marriott Ginza Tobu Hotel, facing Showa-dori, has a moist atmosphere of bar Korin in addition to Japanese and Western restaurants. Today, I enjoyed it with my fellow volunteers.

Everyone's smile is not just all-you-can-drink and a lot of tidbits.

You can drink it quietly, just after 5.

Chuo-ku Railway Monogatari <Part 8> "A longing railway model"

[Shitamachi Tom] March 30, 2012 08:30

This series, which tells episodes related to railways in Chuo-ku, is scheduled for two more times including this time. I would appreciate it if you could see it until the end.

In front of Tenshodo. jpgThis time it's a little extra edition. For it's not a real train. The leading role this time is "railway model". It can be said that it is a slightly expensive adult collection that is irresistible for those who like it.bullettrain

When I was a junior high school student, I was looking forward to lay the HO gauge rails in the living room and run the train. Even at that time, I remember that it was a price that children couldn't afford. By the way, the HO gauge is the size of "16.5 mm in gauge", and the vehicle is generally considered to be 1/87 on a scale. In the first half of the 20th century, it became the mainstream of railway models in the world.

Tenshodo Model 1.JPGNowadays, even smaller sizes and affordable N gauges (9mm gauges) are becoming popular, but they are still good for texture, powerful, and the appeal of HO gauges is not faded.

It is quite brave to see the train running on the HO gauge rails.

Tenshodo Model 2.JPGThere is a shop in Ginza, Chuo-ku, which can be called the mecca of such a longing railway model.
I know [Tenshodo].

Originally, it started as an Infusa store, and after the war, it was said that the manufacture and sale of railway models began in 1949. I heard that it was the president's hobby at that time.note

It is said that Tenshodo's railway model has excellent quality, so it was initially attracted more attention from overseas. In fact, the details were well made, and when I was a child, I wanted a model made by Tenshodo. Finally, I got the EF65 series electric locomotive. I was impressed at that time.lovely

Angels of Tenshodo 2.jpgEven now, when you enter the Tenshodo building, enthusiasts come constantly. Popular items are limited express trains, railcars, sleepers, etc. in the colors of the Japanese National Railways. Each person has its own preference, and the railway discussion is not stopped in the store.

Another thing I would like to see is the lovely angel statue standing at the end of the building. It is said that it was installed as a symbol during the renewal in 1997. It looks like you can see the feelings of model railway fans who still keep following the boy's dreams.

As another famous spot in Chuo-ku, we introduced "railway model hall of fame".train

Kasho Seikanin ★Japanese sweets at the Ginza Main Store

[Mapo ★] March 29, 2012 14:00

In Ginza, it's in Matsuzakaya, and Kyoto is the main store.
In November 2010, I went to a directly managed store that opened on Nishi-Ginza Street.

I bought three chestnut buns, Shokora Mikasa, and camellia at Matsuzakaya before, but it is chestnut buns and mecha horses!
It's moist and rich. Chestnut buns have a lot of white bean paste, but Koshian is also rare.
And it's shy.
This is also a rich chocolate, and the outer castella is also delicious!
Mikasa has a lot of grains, but such Mikasa is welcome.
And the other is camellia.
Yokan with yuzu bean paste with kizami yuzu. It's an adult taste.

And on the day I went to a directly managed store, it was February so there was a perfect product for Hinamatsuri.
The peaches are the strawberries in the field. The lower right of the photo is Hina Temari.
The peach was like a fruity steamed castella.
After all, Hinamatsuri is Japanese sweets! Oh, yes.

Also, there are special Japanese sweets only for three days on 1.2.3rd every month.
The name is 123 mochi (Hifumi mochi)
Cherry blossom mochi in March, Kanto-style cherry blossom mochi in April! I want to eat~ (*^^*)

However, there are many famous shops in Ginza that are directly managed stores.
It seems that the location of 7-chome is often used to bring it at night.

The ultimate Oyakodon at Ginza Hiuchi and the main store

[Mapo ★] March 28, 2012 08:30

For lunch at the main store of Ginza Hinaiya in the Taiyo Building in Ginza 8-chome.

There was the finest Oyakodon of 980 yen and the ultimate Oyakodon of 1200 yen.

This is the ultimate oyakodon.

The ultimate one has chicken baked in Bincho charcoal.

I don't really like chicken so much.

I think it's better to cook chicken.

Chicken, of course, Hiuchi chicken.

It comes with fragrant food and chicken soup.♪

The eggs are thick, and the fragrant and soft chicken is also delicious!

It was the ultimate oyakodon!

I got a drink ticket with no deadline, so let's go again.♪

By the way, it was very hot on this day, so I asked you to turn on air conditioning.

The staff's response was very kind and nice.

Ginza Chuo-dori, early morning line

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] March 21, 2012 08:30

When I say "tablet", I think that "tablets" still come up, are late for the times.shock

March 16 is the release date of the new "(not a tablet) tablet", and Ginza Chuo-dori is in such a state. Even in mid-March, the time is just aftersun 7 o'clock, and the morning air is still cool.

Just signalerat the intersection of Ginza Chuo-dori and Matsuya-dori, I just looked at the opposite side of Chuo-dori from the sidewalk on the Matsuya side. The procession naturally begins with the appleapple building in the photo on the left. A large number of press members also gathered. I took a picture on my way to work in the morning.camera

By the way, a tablet PC is a portable personal computer that has a flat-shaped outer shape and has a display / input part such as a touch panel type.flair

There is a feeling that it became a feature of Ginza early morning.happy01

"Here and There - Tomorrow's Island" Taku Arai Photo Exhibition

[The cat on the slope] March 17, 2012 08:30

This month is just one year from Great East Japan Earthquake. Various projects and activities are being carried out in various places.
Today, I went to one of them, a series of exhibitions called "Remembrance 3.11" held at Nikon Salon in Ginza. In Remembrance 3.11, from February 24 to March 26, we are supporting reconstruction with the power of photography through the works of eight photographers, special exhibition and five symposiums.

From March 14th to 20th, Taku Arai's photo exhibition "Here and There: Tomorrow's Island" Since last year, Arai has visited Fukushima and its surroundings many times and photographed one by one.

The daguerreotype is the world's first practical photography technology that began in the first half of the 19th century. It is said that a silver plate polished on a complete mirror surface is photographed directly in a camera and developed with mercury vapor. (From the article by Mr. Arai himself published in the March 21 issue of Newsweek Japan.)

The island of tomorrow. jpgWhen you enter the venue and stand in front of the work, you can appreciate each and every work with the lights. The expressions of people and animals staring at this, appearing in the illuminated venue. Some backgrounds of the work were very wide and empty. Before the earthquake, there must have been various buildings and landscapes here.

The characteristics of the daguerreotype are that they cannot be replicated and that the left and right sides of the image are inverted. We are beings that no one can replicate. And the image of the left and right reversal that we usually see is myself in the mirror. Arai's work is also a mirror that conveys the hearts of the viewer.

Here and There - Tomorrow's Island Taku Arai Photo Exhibition
Venue: Ginza Nikon Salon (in Nikon Plaza Ginza 7-10-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku)
Period: From 10:30 to 18:30 until March 20 (until 15:00 on the last day)
