Discover Chuo City: The famous Ginza store "Rokugan" I met in old folk house, Takahagi City, Ibaraki
Hello. This is an active correspondent, Hanes!
Last month, is there anyone who returned home during the Bon holiday?
I returned to my hometown Ibaraki and visited historic sites in the prefecture for the first time in a long time.
At that time, I happened to find a gourmet spot related to Chuo-ku, and I was able to deepen my knowledge of famous stores in Chuo-ku.
From such a background, this time we will deliver the charm of Chuo-ku that we learned outside the ward ^ ^
Takahagi Charyo
For a limited time from July 20 to September 1, 200-year-old thatched old folk house Hozumi Family Residence (Designated Cultural Property, Ibaraki Prefecture), a old folk house café “Takahagi Tea Room” was opened at Takahagi City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
It is the relationship with the main Chuo-ku, but it is clear at a glance if you look at the photo below.
Yes, Yoshihisa Akiyama, the chef of the famous Japanese restaurant "Mutsukari", which has a shop in that Ginza Namiki-dori St., is supervised!
Chef Akiyama from Mito City is energetically promoting the appeal of Ibaraki ingredients in Tokyo as an ambassador for Ibaraki food.

At Takahagi Charyo, you can enjoy shaved ice and dishes using rich nature and ingredients that make you feel the breath of the history of Takahagi City, called "Hitachi no Little Kyoto".
For example, agricultural products from Takahagi City such as blueberries, Hitachi Oguro, and local vegetables, miso from Tatsugo Miso, a long-established miso storehouse founded in 1854, and Yachiyo Okoshishi from Eijudo, famous confectionery since 1913.
Personally, the new brand pork "Hitachi no Shine", one of my favorite fruits, "Hananuki Fruit Hozuki", and before "Ibaraki's charm rediscover! "SAZA COFFEE" introduced in the place where IBARAKI sense shines is also recommended.
The most popular menu that can be sold out at Takahagi Charyo is shaved ice!
But the reason is not "because it's summer."
As some of you may know, Rokugan offers a specialty shaved ice as a dessert at the end of an attractive course with seasonal dishes.
Isn't it the best to have shaved ice from a sophisticated Japanese restaurant in Ginza at the calm old folk house Cafe ^ ^

In addition, by combining the shaved ice with ingredients unique to Ibaraki, it is a special shaved ice that can only be tasted here.
The shaved ice menu is worrisome, but "Takahagi strawberry berry shaved ice", "Beniharuka sweet potato shaved ice", "Tatsugo miso caramel shaved ice" are all rare things that you don't usually see.
It can be said that it is a menu that makes the most of the goodness of local specialty products.
This time, I actually visited Takahagi Charyo, and I thought that I was able to learn more about the attitude that Chef Akiyama talked about in the above special feature, "I will challenge new things without neglecting tradition."
The summer business was until September 1 (Sun), but the autumn collaboration event will start on Saturday, September 21 as early as (* until Sunday, December 1)!
If you have the opportunity to visit Ibaraki Prefecture this fall, please enjoy the harmony of Ginza and Ibaraki food at Takahagi Tea Dormitory.♪

Aside:
This time, we introduced Mr. Rokugan from the relationship between Chuo-ku and Takahagi City. Is there anyone interested in Takahagi City, called "Hitachi's Little Kyoto"?
Previously, I introduced Hiromi Kikuchi (Hiromi Kikuchi / Kanjitsu) in "Discover Chuo City: Billionaire Living on the grounds of the Catholic Tsukiji Church", but in fact, Takahagi City has a historical figure related to Chuo-ku.
The person is Sekisui Nagakubo, who was born in 1717 to a farmer in Akahama (now Takahagi City).
If Tadataka Ino is the perfecter of the map of Japan, he is a geographer who can be said to be a pioneer of the map of Japan.
According to "Lifelong Learning predecessor Sekisui Nagakubo" (Takahagi City Lifelong Learning Promotion Headquarters, 1996), the notable part of his achievements was only those of some rulers until then. It is said that the map was made to the common people.
In 1779, he published the first edition of the "Revised Japan Kochi Path Course" in Osaka, and his map, called Akamizu Map, became a bestseller with eight editions in about 100 years to Meiji period.
Although the actual measurement map of Tadataka Ino was completed 42 years after the Akamizu map, it seems that it did not go around the world until the Meiji era due to a national secret.
Therefore, it is surprising that this Akamizu map was used not only by ordinary people but also by Yoshida Shoin and other late Tokugawa shogunate volunteers who are related to Kodemmacho Prison!

As a result of digging a little into the local Ibaraki this time, I was able to find an unexpected contact with Chuo-ku.
With the goal of discovering new charm of Chuo-ku sequentially, we will try to look at Chuo-ku from outside the city from time to time.
