The blessings of nature in the middle of Ginza-Matsuya Ginza Rooftop-

[Ken] May 12, 2009 10:45

Matsuya, a long-established department store in Ginza. There are benches and tables on the rooftop, making it a spot where you can spend a relaxing time when you are tired of walking around the city or during lunch, blowing through the wind passing through the building.

By the way, on the rooftop, vegetables are grown by volunteers of Matsuya employees. Last fall, 12 kinds of summer vegetables such as mini tomatoes, bitter gourd, eggplants and cucumbers were harvested. This attempt, named the "Ginza Green Project", was started with the aim of reducing the heat island phenomenon and contributing to the Ginza Bee Project (a project to grow bees in Ginza buildings implemented by an NPO).

If you look at the small blessings of nature while feeling the pleasant breeze in the middle of the city, you will be able to experience a unique Ginza. In addition, sweets such as cakes and castella using honey from Ginza are also sold at the Japanese and Western Confectionery Section on the first basement floor of Matsuya. This is a gem of locally grown and consumed. Why don't you enjoy this as well?
