Kanda festival (May 9 and 10)

[Mikazuki] May 17, 2009 21:03

Kanda festival. JPGOn May 9th and 10th, there was the Kanda Festival once every two years.

Kanda festival is one of Japan's three major festivals, and Nihonbashi is the shrine parishioner town council of Kanda Myojin, along with Kanda, Otemachi, Marunouchi and Akihabara. There are about 200 portable shrines from 108 shrine parishioner Town Association, so on the 9th and 10th, many people come to see the festival with lively shouts of music and mikoshi and the voices of cheerful children who draw floats all day.

In the Shinko Festival cruise that connects the traditions of Edo to the present, people dressed in costumes, horses and cows pass in front of them, and sometimes chief priest purifies visitors.

Kanda festival, which makes you feel like a time trip during the Edo period while staying in the city center, is especially recommended for those who love history. The next time will be two years later, so why not come by all means?
