Shochiku Otani Library is a library specializing in theater and movies that opened in July 1958. It was established with the aim of making the materials collected and held by Shochiku Co., Ltd. widely available to the public and contributing to the development of social culture.
The materials include a variety of materials related to theater (Kabuki, Bunraku, New School and Commercial Theater), movies, Nihon Buyo and TV. The number of materials, including the original Joruri 300 years ago, was 350,000.
Admission is free, but it is a closed library so it cannot be entered in the library.
ADK Shochiku Square, where the Shochiku Otani Library is located, emphasizes public nature and open to the public, and the entrance hall on the first floor uses a staircase floor made of natural wood to the third floor. It is also used for small concerts, etc. When there is no event, it is used as a place to meet and talk casually with friends. In the building, there are cafes, dining, popular udon restaurants, Taiwanese restaurants and sushi restaurants. The outside of the building is planted with bamboo and pine trees, and it is located next to Ginza, but the inside of the building is quietly wrapped. (1-13-1 Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo)
