Nihonbashi Takashimaya is designated as an Important Cultural Property

Following the report of the Council for Cultural Affairs on April 17, after a public gazette notification that will be held soon, it will be designated as the first important cultural property as a department store building.                               

 The main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya has been acclaimed as "excellent design" and was written by Sadataro Takahashi, who added Japanese elements to the historical style of Western Europe.

It consists of an initial design part and an extension part designed by Togo Murano, which makes full use of modern architecture techniques, and the whole is a high degree of perfection as an inseparable architectural work, and one of the representative department store architecture in Japan It is important as one. "
