The rooftop of a department store, the story of the past and present (Part 4, Takashimaya Tokyo store)

(On the photo) The Takashimaya Tokyo store opened in 1933 (Showa 8) was designated as an Important Cultural Property in June this year.

   "Western history style with Japanese elements added to the Japanese style" and "Use modern architecture techniques"

   It consists of an extension, and the entire building is an inseparable architectural work.

   It is highly important as one of the representative department store construction in Japan. It is said that there is no problem.
