Manhattan in Japan, Tsukuda, Tsukishima, and Kachidoki

 First of all, please take a look at the two maps below. Don't you think the shape is similar?

Well, which map is each one?

On the left is the Manhattan district of New York City, USA, and on the right is the Tsukuda, Tsukishima and Kachidoki areas of Chuo-ku.

(In order to compare them in shape and size, the map of Manhattan Island is reversed from north to south.

The size has been reduced to 1/8 for both vertical and horizontal.)

 

Four years ago, when I moved from Manhattan Island on the left to Tsukuda Island on the right, I felt something in common with both.

*It is an island surrounded by rivers on both sides, with the tip facing the bay.

*It is separated by vertical and horizontal streets, making it easy to understand.

*In the first half of the 17th century, Europeans began to live on Manhattan Island and people from Setsutsu Island on Tsukuda Island.

*Trade was carried out using water transportation and became a source of commerce and culture.

In the Tsukuda, Tsukishima, and Kachidoki areas, the number of foreign residents and tourists is increasing, and buildings with high-rise apartments are also increasing.

Tsukuda, Tsukishima, and Kachidoki can boast about Manhattan because of its good security and service.

Also, I would be happy if there could be a large park like Central Park somewhere.
