Oukyo Maruyama (Creation of Space) Mitsui Memorial Museum special exhibition

 special exhibition, commemorating the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Mitsui Memorial Museum, Oukyo Maruyama's masterpieces have been collected at the Mitsui Art Memorial Museum.

From eyeglasses, which triggered Okyo to learn perspective in adolescence during his youth, to large screen works such as folding screen paintings and sliding doors during the Taisei period, the imaginary world of Okyo is spreading.

Several works designated as important cultural properties and dynamic works along with national treasures will slip back in time to the Edo period.

  Period  :   October 9 (Sat)-November 28 (Sun)

  Opening hours :  10:00 am to 5:00 pm (entrance until 4:30 pm)

  Admission fee  :   General 1200. - 900. for those aged 70 and over (bringinging proof of identity)

  Closed days :   Monday ※ Opened on November 22 (Monday)

Oukyo Maruyama (1733-1795) Founder of the Maruyama school, a painter in the middle of the Edo period  

                                                                  The following is the newly confirmed "Matsuzuru Figure Screen" by Oukyo Maruyama.

It was signed in 1770 (Meiwa 7).

It was the first time. This work will be on display until November 7th.
